Fantasy Football Scout Cups – Eighth Round Draws

This afternoon we reveal the results from the seventh rounds of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII and Members Cup VI as well as roll out the eighth round draws that take place in Gameweek 30.

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII reaches the quarter final stage in Gameweek 30 with Nick of Oz emerging as a key manager to beat. His impressive score of 95 in Round 7 takes him to 1,672nd place in the overall rankings and the accolade of being the highest-ranked manager left in the tournament. He faces Tap in the quarter finals, who has an overall ranking of 76,392.

The highest scorer in Round 7 was Leon Harris. His tally of 98 takes him up to 11,994 in the rankings and a quarter final clash with Fumi.

Community regular Numb marches on to set up a quarter final tie with Youth Hostelling w/Chris Eubank.

Meanwhile, konman’s giant killing exploits continue. For the second round in a row he has seen off the tournament’s highest-ranked mnager with Vodkapad becoming his latest victim in Round 7. The 64,487th-ranked manager will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of heavy hitters to conquer when he takes on the tournament’s second highest-placed manager CB8, who has an overall rank of 3758.

The full Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII Round 7 results can be found here, while the Round 8 draw can be found here.

The semi-final draw for the Members Cup sees Space Cadete take on Ola Svanheld, the competition’s highest placed remaining manager with a rank of 72,686. While GOB will meet community veteran Rasping Drive.

Space Cadete is in good shape for Gameweek 30’s semi-final match, and is already able to field a full XI despite the reduced fixture list. He may need to spend his single free transfer on back up for Southampton’s Cedric Soares though.

Ola Svanheld is just a goalkeeper change away from being able to field an XI, with one of David De Gea or Wayne Hennessey, who both miss Gameweek 30, set to be transferred out. Both these semi-finalists have Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane, the current FFScout captain poll leaders, firmly in place.

Rasping Drive has an overall ranking of 218,553. in his eighth season playing Fantasy Premier League. He also has a top 500 overall finish also under his belt but it is GOB goes into this semi-final as the favourite despite his overall ranking of 521,940...

While Rasping Drive faces taking a hit to field XI in Gameweek 30, GOB is in far better shape, as he is already able to field an XI without a transfer. However, he may need to use a transfer to cover Spurs’ rotation-prone full back Kyle Walker.

The full Members Cup Round 7 results can be found here, while the Round 8 semi-finals draw can be found here.

OK due to the Stan injury and flipping Simpson for Huth I am two players short of a full XI..

I think I need to part company with Sanchez, as my poor TV means I can't run with him for a DGW34 anyway as I would need funds to upgrade Alli.

So on that basis, what is my best move this week? Silva, Yaya, or hold and sell Nyom for a Bournemouth starter?? Or take a -4 and get Daniels in too?!

    Forster
    Kompany Wimmer Huth (NYOM MORENO)
    Mahrez Alli (SANCHEZ OZIL STANISLAS)
    Aguero Kane Vardy

Hmm, maybe look at selling either Sanchez or Nyom as you say!

Tempted to take the -4 and go for glory. I've only taken one hit all season, seems as good a time as any to do a second to field a full XI and the hit will only effectively cost me 2 points!

Assuming MCI MUN ARS and WHU have a double in 34. Ill probably be able to play BB without a WC.

Right - whittled down my GW choices to 2 options!

[having a very busy day in the office]

    a) Get Alli in and Aguero (c)
    b) Get Yaya in and Kane (c)

Either move would basically cover anything my ML rival would do, whilst stacking the game my captain isn't in with 3x the players from that team.

Thinking a) at the moment - what do you guys reckon?

    1. Shipstontrev
      • 14 Years
      8 years, 1 month ago

      I'd go a)

        8 years, 1 month ago

I'm thinking this, too. My ML rival has Kane and Eriksen (he copied me when he wildcarded early...) so it might be a good idea to get Alli in - I'm sure he'll go Aguero (c) so I probably need to cover that and find differentials someplace.

Cheers dude - yeah I've had Aguero since he got back from injury, it's more who do I get in between Alli and Yaya. I'm basically going to captain in one game and then get 3 players in the other.

        Alli looking like the consensus.

Who on earth do I bench out of this lot?

Decent fixtures for each player, but 1 needs to be benched.

    Butland (SOU)
Kompany (nor), Fuchs (NEW), Daniels (SWA), Alderweireld (avl)
Siggy (bou), Mahrez (NEW), Arnautovic (SOU), Alli (avl)

Is it worth saving a FT and playing 10 men (3-3-3) instead of getting rid of Moreno this week?

Ive got Schmeichel, VVD, Williams, Wollscheid (Moreno/Dawson)

No stand out options for a replacement and can only really afford a £5.2m defender, unless the news about Rose is confirmed then i can get in Ben Davies.

Really want to keep Sanchez and Payet with the former slowly coming into form.

Currently playing a 4-3-2 this gw:

    Lloris
    VDV - Simpson - Daniels - Wollshield
    Mahrez - Sig - Alli
    Kun - Kane

with Butland Ward Sanchez Payet Lukaku not scoring do I:

A.) Sanchez -> Yaya or Silva
    B.) Ward -> Komapany
    C.) Hold FT
    D.) Other

    1. Shipstontrev
      • 14 Years

    Forster Mccarthy
    Kompany Fuchs Toby Wolly Targett
    Payet Siggy Alli Mahrez Stanilas
    Kane Vardy Aguero

I'm 12 points behind ML leader who has a similar team but has Yaya instead of Payet. What to do ? 1FT, 5mill in the bank ..

    A) Payet > Silva or Yaya and play 3-4-3
    B) Save FT, bench Payet and play 4-3-3

If I use my WC in GW33, then which 5th midfielder (up to 9.7m) would you bring in for the next 3 GWs:

    1. Toure (nor, MUN, bou)
    2. Eriksen (avl, BOU, liv)
    3. ?

Who are your other mids, both of those are to expensive for a 5th mid, unless your playing 3-5-2 IMO.

Surely using the wildcard for GW34 may get you good points but a lot of them will be lost trying get decent players for the succeeding GW's?

thats what transfers are for but also you'd be bringing in LIV / EVE players for example, who have 2 games in hand!

not necessarily. WC GW33 and BB GW34 has been my preferred option for a while.
