The ScoutCast – Episode 198 – Fickle

Just three weeks ago we dedicated a ScoutCast to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

We collectively toasted his impact Manchester United and swore that he was set to be a mainstay in our squads and seasons.

Just 21-days later, three of the ScoutCast team have sold him on and another teeters on the edge – Jonty is only really hesitating because a four-point hit is involved.

To be fair, Zlatan’s likely biggest fan is missing for this week’s episode. With Granville nursing man-flu, it’s left to Luke to make a return and step in to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we gang up to round on the big Swede.

We’re clearly not the only one’s guilty of this foolishly fickle approach.

This week’s community questions were dominated by talk of a Zlatan exit, whilst also quizzing us on the rise and potential fall of Etienne Capoue, the potential offered by a switch to 3-5-2 and the merits of Theo Walcott as a Fantasy asset. No, really.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

You can view the full Google Hangout version on the second player below, or opt for the old fashioned audio via this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Please RMWCT, I have downgraded Lukaku to upgrade sterling to KDB

    Jaku, Pickford
    Williams, Walker, Evans, Holebas. Amat
    Sanchez, KDB, Antonio, Firmino, Capoue
    Rashford, Aguero, Deeney

Personal I think you should have two of,

      Aguero, Ibra, Lukaku, Costa.

But hopefully De Bruyne's points will be more than that of Sterlings and those premium strikers

Much prefer Lukaku and Sterling to Rashford and KDB. There is a possibility you will end up with no keeper soon

Was tempted with that option myself it's a tough one it's basically KDB and Deeney v Sterling and Lukaku?

No problems here. Everyone is telling us lukaku over one of Deeney/Rashford but form and fixtures look amazing.

This team could do very well. Go with your gut.

OK, I am finally finalizing my WC team

    The core is:
    ___ - 4.0
    ___ - ___ - ___ - Holebas - Amat
    Sanchez - Firmino - ___ - ___ - Capoue
    Aguero - Lukaku - Deeney

now it comes to the choice between those:

    A. Heaton | Baines - Lovren - Kone | Sterling - Antonio
    B. Heaton | Walker - A.Williams - Kone | Payet - Snodgrass
    C. Foster | Walker - Baines - Lovren | Sterling - Snodgrass

Could you please help me out on picking the right one? 😉
    Thanks!

Think on my final WC draft would really appreciate any views positive or negative?

    Janku Pickford
    Walker Williams Evans Holebas Amat
    Sanchez Firmino Antonio Sterling Capoue
    Agureo Lukaku Deeney

Only thing I can think of is changing Janu Evans Walker> Foster Vertongon and another 4.5 def? Or is KDB better option than Sanchez?

    Thanks in advance

Nice , but don't fancy the gk paring - too risky. Downgrade Walker and upgrade Jaku. And Capoue/Deeny will give you benching headaches each GW

Be wary of your keepers choice... They both play now, but couple of bad performances and can be dropped in no time... Otherwise I like it. I pref Alexis over KDB... Can't help but feel that he won't score as many fantasy points when Kun is back

i think walker is a potential gold mine so keeping. ive already pressed the button and gave jal and pick so not going back to foster now after taking a hit. whats done is done... i think points will be fairly even between the 2 combos. ??? deeney or rashford is my only decision left. may go deeney this week and maybe rash werk later?

    Morning all,

Finalising my wildcard draft, what do you guys think?

    Pickford / heaton

    Zuniga / Amat / Williams / Evans / kone

Chadli / snodgrass / de Bruyne / firmino / capoue

    Aguero / ibra / lukaku

Next week de Bruyne will become Sanchez

    Cheers,

I think the defence is wafer-thin. Maybe get rid of Capoue for a 4.4 that plays and Firmino for Coutinho. That should save something between 0.6 and 0.9 to improve on Zuniga and Amat.

Anybody seriously considering Rashford as Man U cover? He is in great form, and offers the perfect solution for those going Zlatan to Aguero.

I'm going to put him in using my WC instead of Deeney, seeing as I have Watford cover in Holebas and Capoue anyway.

In form, two home games, so cheap and covers for zlatan owners.

I'm thinking of getting Rashford next week (for Rondon) and having both Zlatan and Rash for stoke games .
Then downgrade zlat th next week and use the money to get KDB / Sanchez type mid

Is Rashford guaranteed to start every game though? If he was then I think he's super value.

Wildcards are VERY sim for this stage of season on here. I'm on the same don't get me wrong. But seeing very little of a lot of players who are bang in form.

Costa. Mane. Lallana. Payet. KDB. Walcott. (stop laughing.) Even Fer as an enabler I was expecting?

We've kinda all chucked our eggs in the same basket here...

It's the same any given week - people wildcarding will have a similar team. But in 2 weeks the people wildcarding then will have different teams to the ones wildcarding now.

Well Lukaku, Sanchez, Sterling, Firmino, Antonio, Capoue are also in form. Can't have 'em all

Budget reason means Lukaku, Antonio, Sterling over Costa Payet, KDB. Capoue is a given.

there's always a template, but this year so far is full of different options, and I think we'll see different teams, I don't have Lukaku for example. Also Capoue's goals are making it more template.

If Jose plays Rooney again this weekend we should tear up both their contracts.

    Happy Friday.

I currently have Kun and Lukaku up front. I need one more. Would you go:

    A) Costa (one yellow away from suspension, on form and bad fixtures)

or these and use funds for other area of team:

    B) Janssen (as a punt as Kane is injured)

    C) Rashford (on form but plays wide)

    D) Deeney (good fixtures but a big punt)

    cheers!!

Ighalo rather than Deeney but Janssen looks the pick of those for value.

So, after weeks of tinkering I have come up with this:
    Jaku-Pick
    Williams-Evans-Holebas-Amat
    Fimino-Snoddy
    Ibra-Kun

This is the players I will have, but as you can see I need 5 more.
I want 1.Sanchez 2.Lukaku 3.double up Liverpool midfield. BUT, I can just afford two of these three picks.

If I go 1 I will get Sanchez-Pereyra-Lukaku-Adam Smith-Fletch (5th mid). This gives me great midfield/attack but a weak defense.

2 gives me Sanchez-Antonio-Deeney-Koscielny-Carrick(5th mid). Downgrade on attack but stronger defence.

And last, 3 would give me Mane-Firmino-Antonio-Capoue-Lukaku-Lovren. Strong team overall but not Sanchez.

So now, I really need your help. This is my final WC decision and all thoughts are welcomed. What combination to go with?

    Cheers

    Would you prefer:

    Kun, Lukaku, ***

    A) Hazard, Tekkers
    B) Snoddy, Ibra for -4 hit
