The ScoutCast – Episode 198 – Fickle

Just three weeks ago we dedicated a ScoutCast to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

We collectively toasted his impact Manchester United and swore that he was set to be a mainstay in our squads and seasons.

Just 21-days later, three of the ScoutCast team have sold him on and another teeters on the edge – Jonty is only really hesitating because a four-point hit is involved.

To be fair, Zlatan’s likely biggest fan is missing for this week’s episode. With Granville nursing man-flu, it’s left to Luke to make a return and step in to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we gang up to round on the big Swede.

We’re clearly not the only one’s guilty of this foolishly fickle approach.

This week’s community questions were dominated by talk of a Zlatan exit, whilst also quizzing us on the rise and potential fall of Etienne Capoue, the potential offered by a switch to 3-5-2 and the merits of Theo Walcott as a Fantasy asset. No, really.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

You can view the full Google Hangout version on the second player below, or opt for the old fashioned audio via this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Afternoon all. I don't normally post rate my teams, but I'm on a wildcard. I have made changes that are a little out of template, but not too punty I hope.
    Foster / Jako

McAuley Vertong / Baines / Amat / Holebas

    Snods / KDB / Sterling / Capoue / Fermino

    Aguero / Lukaku / Rashford

    Any thoughts? Cheers

Just put Rashford in (see top of page) I think if Utd do score he is likely to be involved. Plus good differential and potential early bandwaggon

      Points per game:
      Calculated by Points/(Total Minutes/90)

Deeney - This Season 3.9 | Last Season 4.54 -- Fixture: bur, BOU, mid, swa
Rondon - This Season 5.39 | Last Season 4.05 -- Fixtures: sto, sun, TOT, liv
      Rashford - This Season 6.38 | Last Season 5.79 -- Fixtures: LEI, STO,liv,che

I'm in the exact same boat. Currently have Deeney but might end up flipping a coin.

Rashford is in form (isn't he always), but UTD's recent form might make Jose play it safe with more experience. He's not known for trusting youth in a tight situations. Deeney has great fixtures and is on pens but folks seem to say hes got horrible stats.

Planning on going Ibra(LEI,STO) and Chadli(sto, sun) for the next two then switching to Sanchez and Rashford. Thoughts? If I ship Ibra now and he gets a haul against Stoke or Leiscester, because of his price I don't think I'll be able to afford to get him back.

“We all know that when you play at home at 3pm it is so different to Thursday night against Dortmund,” said Klopp, ahead of this weekend’s visit of Hull City.

“I know the opponent I cannot change but is it only because it is afternoon and not night? The fact that I get asked this question two or three times shows that something is wrong with the expectations about a game like this.

“It’s not about the name of the opponent. You can hear it in the stadium. If you miss a chance in a big game, it’s like, ‘go again’. If you miss a chance in another game, it’s like, ‘Oh my god. Not the same s--- again’.

“Rubbish. If you miss a chance, you stay patient. You don’t lose your nerve and start shooting from 45 yards. I spoke to the players about it as the only difference I see is we get frustrated after missing chances. We lose our nerve. Stay patient, stay positive, that is really important. Don’t frustrate yourself after five minutes."

Not A SINGLE person in here has mentioned Pereyra! He is in my WC team instead of Capoue as a 4th midfielder and i think he is one of the best differentials! I even tried to free up funds for him. I think he will be a rocket! Points in every game so far and good underlying stats

Thinking of - 8 hit for the following:

    Tekkers ----- Aguero
    Ozil ------- Sterling
    Hazard ------- Firminho?

    Worth the hit?

    Team would be:

    Heaton (Pick)

    Baines Valencia Stones (Masuaku, Amat)

    Sterling Firminho Capoue Antonio (Snoddy)

    Lukaku - Aguero - Costa

    1. FantasyFreak

I also took -8 points hit to transfer in that exact three players.
As a result, we have similar front 8, just that I have Redmond and Ibra in place of Snoddy and Costa.

You could've done those transfers earlier to catch those price rises/drops though.

On/during a wildcard if I transfer a player before a price rise can I then sell him on during a wildcard and gain instant profit?

He would need to go up 0.2 for you to profit

So I can't use my wildcard to gain instant profit?

          Seems unlikely

You can only profit half the price rise... No matter if it's WC or not... So if your player manage to rise 0,2 during your active WC then you gain a 0,1 profit

    Hi Guys

do WHU fans know why arbeloa is not in starting XI yet?
He is 4.9 in FPL and WHU fixtures look great although, of course, defense has been quite bad so far but tis could change.

Should Arbeloa be nailed from now on?!

      He wasn't match fit.

      Yes, should be.

For 2 days now I can't force myself to transfer Ibra out... Deep down in my guts I feel it will cost me so much 🙁

Lukaku is a troll so leaning towards B

Hi guys, I'm struggling a bit and not quite sure what the best move here is. Would like Aguero back I think but also think my midfield is very weak! I have 1 transfer, wild card hasn't been used and £3.5m in the bank

    What's everyone's thoughts?

    Heaton (Foster)

    Valencia / Baines / Stones (friend/Robertson)

    Hazard / Barkley / Redmond / Townsend ( fletcher)

    Costa / Ibra / Gray

    Lukaku(vc), Deeney, Aguero (c)

    Heaton, Capoue, Holebas, Amat.

I'd go for Firmino... Mostly cause of price difference
