Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Middlesbrough vs Watford

Sunday’s events get off to a rather inauspicious start, with a Riverside Stadium encounter somewhat bereft of Fantasy interest.

Middlesbrough take on Watford in the lunchtime clash and, despite Alvaro Negredo heading into the match with more than 17% ownership; it’s a good bet that many of those FPL managers have long since taken their hands off their teams.

Negredo is recalled to the ‘Boro starting line-up as he looks to break a run of five Premier League appearances without a goal or an assist.

There is certainly more interest in the Hornets’ assets, with Troy Deeney presenting arguably the most likely source of points in today’s encounter.

The Watford skipper has notched three goals in his last four and leads the line backed by 8.2% ownership.

We’ll also be monitoring the progress of Jose Holebas at left wing-back, with the Greek still just a single yellow card away from a one-match ban.

Equally, Issac Success’ performance will be of interest – the Nigerian ousts his compatriot Odion Ighalo to the bench today to take his place in what looks to be a 3-5-2 setup from Walter Mazzarri.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Should I do cazorla and Ibra to Walcott and Costa for a hit, sitting athere 1.4 Mill rank and need to start making some movement

Very premature question and a knee-jerk reaction imo.

Ibra has arguably the best stats in FPL. Blanked of late but wait until he plays on Monday - you might feel a bit silly if he converts stats to points and gets a hatrick... A blank on Monday re-starts the question however!

Knee jerk because of money issues and my rank, would be very happy with top 100k finish now

Many have ejected Ibra. If you want to chase Ibra might be a better option than Costa - wait until after Monday's game.

Costa has scored 7 in 8, yet I've ignored him all season... Lukaku has 6 in 5, yet I've ignored him all season... Now Walcott has 4 in 4, and I'm not planning on bringing him in. When I look at it this way, I make myself look like a lunatic, yet every time something has held me back...

Now I really feel like Walcott (and the others) will continue to punish me, but it just seems daft to get rid of one of Sanchez, Payet, Firmino, Son, who will undoubtedly score plenty of points as soon as I drop any of them.

I have now dropped from the top 3k in GW3, after choosing a very strong starting XV which I'm proud of, to outside the top 100k. I wish I could restart the last five weeks and just pick the players scoring the most goals.

Anyone in a similar position with some encouraging words?

I'm doing similar. I'm going full casual now, as it seems jumping on bandwagons is the way forward at the moment. Get in Costa, Allen and Walcott by any means necessary and reap the points. Heck, get in Stanislas for a hit as well.
