The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Semi-Final Draw

This afternoon we reveal who has made it through to the semi-finals of our open to all Fantasy Premier League Cup competition, which takes place over Gameweek 22.

For this cup competition, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

Back on the Horse’s excellent score of 106 earns him a £30 in FanDuel credit’s for the round’s top score. After seeing off David Brains in the quarter final he now squares up to Moin, whose 102 to 85 victory over malvernangells earns him a £10 FanDuel credit.

In terms of overall rank, this first pair of sem-finalists are evenly matched, with Back on the Horse placed at 5,759, while Moin is at 6,395 in the overall standings.

Both also have their second Wildcard, Triple Captain and Bench Boost chips intact and may opt to use one if they fancy prioritising cup commitments.

They also have very similar teams, with Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Spurs striker Harry Kane and Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic all potential captaincy candidates. West Ham’s Michail Antonio also features in both squads.

This means that Back on the Horse will be hoping for a strong performance from key differentials Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and West Brom’s Matt Phillips.

While Moin will be relying on Southampton’s Nathan Redmond, who is at home to Leicester City, and Burnley striker Andre Gray, who has a far trickier tie away at Arsenal.

The other semi final sees 28,322 ranked Hazardousblue who defeated Bashvilla, take on A Manager Has No Name, who is 10,000 places ahead of him in the overall standings and saw off Urchin in the quarter finals.

Again the chips are all place for this pair, who both have Kane and Ibrahimovic available as key heavy hitters. Elsewhere, there are a raft of differentials.

A Manager Has No Name will be looking for a good performance from Middlesbrough forward Alvaro Negredo at home to West Ham, as well as Dele Alli away to Manchester City, and key captaincy contender Alexis Sanchez at home to Burnley.

Meanwhile, for Hazardous Blue, a strong showing from Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, Chelsea schemer Eden Hazard and Palace playmaker Yohan Cabaye will be crucial if he is to prevail. The smart money will be on him captaining Hazard for this encounter.

Hazardous Blue, A Manager Has No Name and malvernangells join Moin in claiming a £10 FanDuel Credit for their high quarter-final scores.

The results from the last eight can be found via this link, while the full semi-finals draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

i don't think so tbh , with west brom conceding goals and him playing LB and also phlips took most of set pieces if i'm not wrong

    Hi All

On a wildcard - any tips please? Not having my best year had a horrible 3 weeks! Defence is obviously weak

    Heaton/Foster
    Azpilicueta/Chambers/Smith/Holgate/Pieters
    Sanchez/Allen/Hazard/Stanislas/Phillips
    Kane/Ibrahimovic/Rondon

Issues I think are that I have selected a front 8 without a clear bench option - I could replace one of Allen/Stanislas/Phillips with a cheaper player and upgrade my defence - any thoughts?

Also have no idea if Holgate is likley to feature much into the future?

A bit reliant on West Brom too!!

    Thanks!

      • 7 Years

Yes. Sell Allen for Carroll and upgrade your defence. Holgate is an uncertainty. Keep him for benchfodder. And sell Foster. No need to spend so much money on him.

Jamie Vardy scored 24 goals last year. So far this year: 5 (3 of which were in a single home match against MCI in GW 15).

LEI clean sheets last year: 15
    So far this year: 5

I never see any LEI players mentioned whatsoever as investment worthy, for obvious reasons. But from GW 29, their run in to the end of the season looks pretty kind. Crazy? Yeah probably, but just wanted to put it out on the radar in case they actually get their sht together.

(And just to add to this, the second leg of their CL matches against Sevilla takes place on March 14, right before the GW 29 run starts)

Diego is available for the game at Hull,” the Italian said on Friday. “He trained on Tuesday with the rest of the team and he trained very well. He has a good fitness. The pain in his back has gone, he has no pain in his back. For these reasons he is available for the game.”

Stanislas or Mirallas for Sigurdsson? Why?

Stanislas. Nailed on and on pens.

Mirallas is not a guaranteed starter.

Does anyone agree with me when I think that Lallana's high goal conversion rate is due to regress? However, with Mane still at AFCON, he'll likely be playing a lot in the attacking three positions. Thoughts?

Will Love keep his spot or is he just covering for injuries?

I think he is covering for injuries. Not good enough to start every week.

      De Roon to Stan. AOA!
Pogba's got Hull at home after that. I'd leave him for a bit longer.

I shouldn't be considering lallana > pedro or giroud > Costa right?

      I wouldn't, so it's probably the right decision 😉

Rose, Baines, Alonso, Chambers ... which 3 to play? 🙂
