Assessing Shakespeare’s Leicester City

Leicester City’s decision to part company with Claudio Ranieri back in late February came in for some harsh criticism at the time yet the impact under Craig Shakespeare has forced a sharp reassessment of the Foxes’ potential.

Four straight wins in all competitions, scoring three times in their trio of Premier League matches since the Italian left the King Power Stadium, bodes well ahead of back-to-back home encounters with Stoke and Sunderland and a trip to Crystal Palace in the next four rounds of fixtures.

With that in mind, we take a look at the Foxes’ displays since Ranieri was relieved of his duties as Fantasy Premier League managers consider a short-term move for their in-form assets.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure yet as I own Costa. But that Palace defence has been decent, and I don't like that Costa has been angling for a move away over the break. Siggy has tough Boro defence. Mane might be an option with Everton's defensive injuries... but no Lallana

I'm doing the same, he seems the best option this week if you don't own Costa or Vardy. The only other player I considered is Mane at home against a depleted Everton defence.

      1. The Tinkerman
        • 8 Years

I have Costa... I think it's close between them though, a CS seems just as likely as Costa scoring, Palace can defend with Sakho in the back line.

I'm very likely to be taking a 12 point hit this week.

    Aguero, T.Carroll, Coleman and Brunt
    to
    Barnes, Alli, Valencia & Bertrand

Seem to be good long term moves as I no longer have a WC and need to start loading up on DGWers.

Next week Siggy and McAuley to Eriksen and Walker so no point in holding off on any of this week's transfers.

    Are these good moves?

    1. The Tinkerman
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

I also have no WC but plan to keep the likes of Jaku and Carroll in my squad and prioritise other positions and price points. Barnes doesn't have a DGW, But Anicheve does at a similar price and he should be back this week I think. I won't be taking hits that big, but good luck to you!

Barnes is just to enable getting all the players that I want, shifting value out of attack into midfield and defence. I know he does have a DGW but at least he plays Bournemouth. I'm not a fan of transferring in injured players but Anichebe is definitely an option that I'll consider, thanks.

On the brink of an 8 point hit too bring in Tadic and Erik for De Room and Antonio (pending Ganniadinis injury as he is sat on my bench)

Other then that trying to shoehorn in Sanchez and Ibra in the coming weeks is proving tricky, so plenty of planning needs in the loop

Know the feeling , seems strange to use a wildcard to plan for the future, but the second one as a short term fix!

Still got my FT, but a bit unsure whether I should save or not. Don't really fancy Valencia as my Baines replacement. Just read an interview with JM on SkySports. Valencia and Rojo will be back in Manchester this afternoon, which most likely means that they'll have only one session before the game on Saturday. I am not even confident Valencia will start against WBA...

Which of these moves are worth a -4:

    Barkley->Sanchez
    Aguero->Vardy

I mean, I have Vardy and everything and he's a good pick, but Aguero can easily outscore him.

Still have my WC as well as AOA, BB and TC. Any plans on when to use those?

Yeah no, its WC 35/36, TC Sanchez 35/36, BB 37, and skip AOA.

Good call and probably the better overall option, but the easiest fixtures for TC options are Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in 37.

The best result imv will be based upon how the chips are played rather than when they are played, so all options have their merit

Sometimes you need to cover your bets mate. Could always start Brunt or Holebas before him if you don't like the fact that Siggy might score. Gibson is value for attempts on goal also. Not forgetting he has a double GW in 34

Ok I have a Coleman dilemma, do I keep and lose value to take care of midfield, or ship for Alonso/Walker?

    Heaton
    Maguire Valencia Pieters
    Sterling* Mane Firmino* King Siggy
    Carroll Lukaku

    Foster/ Coleman** McAuley Llorente

    1FT 4.9 ITB

I would like Spurs cover, so would be ditching either Sterling or Firmino for Alli.

    Any advice much appreciated!!
