FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results & Second Round Draws

This afternoon we reveal who has made it through to the second round of both our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions.

In our open to all cup, reigning champion A Manager Has No Name saw off Flying Nugget 50-41 despite being more than 30,000 behind him in the overall rankings going into the clash.

The enigmatically-titled victor, who is placed at 30,453, now has himself another tricky tie, against community regular Krul runnings, who is 9,490 places above him.

He wasn’t the only cup winner to progress, with both Mark and I overcoming Sleep Talk and Virus in the mind respectively.

Mark, who is 472nd in the rankings, now faces 7,717-placed Jimmyt281, while I’ve got my work cut out to defeat 76,423-ranked Not Much Klopp, given my lowly 355,537 placing.

Former champions Donnellyc, Gribude and Wild Rover also prevailed. Of this trio, 323,577-placed Donnellyc has arguably the toughest encounter when he squares up to the 7,798-ranked SpartaBhoy.

Meanwhile, 67,661-placed Gribude faces 5,199-ranked Footopia and Wild Rover takes on Kabukkinen, who at 25,793, is 18,154 places ahead of our community’s resident Blackburn fan.

Sadly, we say goodbye to former winner MCH at this stage, who was defeated 49-42 by upthemiddle.

In the first round’s live Hall of Fame top ten derby, Philman, who is 1,071 in the overall standings and seventh in our list of all-time best FPL managers, lost 68-34 to Dronny Imp (aka David Meechan), who is tenth in our elite listings and has moved up to 7,275 in the world.

Legomane, who is 3,755 places behind David, has drawn the short straw to become this top manager’s next opponent.

Another to fall victim to the fixture list is FetchUp, who is placed 8,461 in the world but next faces Hana, who at 52 overall is the competition’s highest-ranked manager.

The full second round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, in the Members’ Cup former winner Trigg, who is 134,835 in the world, won a close encounter with Bangkok Canary 59-53 and next takes on 56,151-ranked Fenghh.

FFScout Members’ League leader and 34th-placed Billy Ketsu was another victor. After overcoming Emckay, he now encounters Doctor101, who is ranked 56,236.

Other eye-catching ties include Jafooli’s clash with another community regular VS10, while Hana makes it through in this contest as well and takes on FFScout moderator Spencer .

The full second round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved, and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes simply click this link.

V nice but you'll leave a LOAD of value on the bench every week. Remember you can't play all of them!

Maybe Benteke to Barnes or even Anichebe and then you have funds for a Kane or Ibra upgrade.

Kane's return still a few weeks away. I'll stick with tekers for a bit and hope his value increases a bit then look to get Kane back.

So is the general thinking still that GW37 will be a bumper DGW? considering that the scheduling rule changed a couple of weeks ago could we now see the Doubles spread out over several weeks instead?

    1. Football Weekender
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

Wijnaldum always looks good, he's had a solid first season, but he can't compete with Coutinho, Firmino or Mané as an FPL asset.

4 goals, 2 assists in last 7 home games. Everton game was his first home blank since 2016!

Seriously tempted as enables Walcott over Zaha on WC.

        1. Football Weekender
          • 7 Years

Those numbers are impressive and consistent but I think I'd prefer the potentially more explosive returns of Coutinho or Firmino.

Zaha is in the form of his life at the moment with a DGW coming up so I'd prefer Coutinho/Firmino & Zaha over Wijnaldum & Walcott personally.

    Good evening!

I'm 100 points behind in my mini league and willing to catch up.

My team consists of these players:

    Heaton (Jakupovic)
    Valencia Daniels McAuley Robertson (Friend)
Sanchez Sigurdsson Snodgrass Mané (de Roon)
    Lukaku Costa (Gabbiadini)

    1 FT 0.2 ITB

Which of the following would you do?
    A) Mané -> Alli
    B) Mané -> Coutinho
    C) Mané -> Coutinho, Snodgrass -> Alli, Gabbiadini -> Barnes (-8p)
    D) Save FT

Good evening. Which of the following moves looks the best to get Sanchez in:

    Heaton
    Robertson, Baines, Alonso, Brunt
    Sigurdsson, Mane, Hazard, Alli
    Lukaku, Aguero

subs: Foster --- Llorente, Holgate, Clayton --- 1 FT, 1.2 ITB

    A) Mane and Baines -> Sanchez and Yoshida (-4)
    B) Mane and Aguero -> Sanchez and Ibrahimovic (-4)
    C) Mane and Alonso -> Sanchez and B.Davies (-4)
    D) Something else, what?

"Everyone involved in squad yesterday, are fit and available for Wednesday. Llorente is still touch and go for this game, it is possible and I cannot say more than that. He has responded well to treatment. Wednesday is going to be tight but it is possible. I think the weekend is more realistic. It won’t drag on, it is a minor thing. He was comfortable to train with it, but it has settled down and hopefully he is back shortly."

      1. Deano

I think they will risk him given their lack of potency yesterday.

    2. Arteta

      7 years, 1 month ago

"Possibly, it will be difficult for him to start on Wednesday. I don’t think he would be 100 per cent fit as he has not been training. We have to look at him maybe making an impact from the bench, otherwise we have more time to prepare for West Ham."

    CAPTAIN OPTIONS - WEEK 31

Can't decide who to captain this week...

    A) Sanchez smashed 26pts vs West Ham away earlier in the season but seemed to be quite deep vs city at the weekend

    B) Vardy is on fire but isn't currently my transfer plans but plays Sunderland

    C) Ibrahimovic will be fresh against a weak Everton defence that looked lost against Liverpool

    D) Coutinho is on fire and Liverpool v Bournemouth will be the highest scoring game

      A.

As you aren't planning on getting Vardy.

Explain why Vardy is a captain pick despite not being in your transfer plans.

I don't think one good performance = on fire, but Coutinho is definitely heading in the right direction.

I'm going to the Vardy party and if i can't get in I'll crawl over to Alexis' place for some consolation.

Not currently in my plans as I want to optimise the number of double gameweek players. Might be a bad move tho?

If United win the Europa League and remain 5th in the league and Everton remains 7th do Everton then qualify for Europa League next year?

Asking as Everton might have something to play for till the end maybe.

Evening all! Seeking other views on my probable move.

What do reckon to Tekkers in for Llorente here? Just a punt up til GW34/wildcard in 35/6. Got 7.1 max to spend. D
on't fancy Origi - had bad experience earlier on in season. Will become Gabbi.

    Jaku / Randolph
Alonso Brunt Valencia / Pieters RFM
Siggy San(c)hez Eriken Coutinho / Fletcher
    Kaku Vardy Llorente*

    Thanks!
