Dugout Discussion – Crystal Palace vs Burnley

With just two goals from Saturday’s action so far, we now turn to the tea-time kick-off at Selhurst Park to provide some much-needed entertainment and Fantasy returns.

Crystal Palace host Burnley having enjoyed an influx of investment on the back of their double Gameweek 34, ensuring that many will have interest in this evening’s encounter.

Christian Benteke – one of the few success stories with a 14-point return – heads into the match backed by 608,000+ FPL managers, with 172,000 opting to hand him the captaincy ahead of the Clarets clash – that includes 21 of the top 100 managers.

In contrast, Wilfried Zaha owes his recent investors. He was brought in by 144,000+ ahead of Gameweek 34 only to return just three points. More than 46,000 have shipped him out ahead of today’s clash.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah but still, 4 fixtures in 2 GWs is good regardless.

I've had Yoshida for a long time and I'm just sticking to him, don't think there's any need of any more Southampton players really. I'll happily take a Yoshida 10 pointer in one of the 2 Southampton DGWs.

    Thoughts on this WC Team??

    Caballero/ Pickford
    Alonso| Vertonghen |Gabriel |Yoshida| Stephens
    Sanchez| Hazard| Alli| Sane| Fraser
    Kane| Costa| Anichebe

Might look weak as far as Fraser and Anichebe are concerned
Can field a strong gw36 and 38 team
Will need Fraser and Anichebe only for Gw 37

Nothing wrong with template - generally, template for good reason.

Only template for a small percentage of overall players in the game.

Did Sanchez to Tadic to fund Negredo to Kane for a one week punt.

That ten point swing on the pen miss killed me. I didn't see it. Poorly struck or well saved by Jaku?

What to do with this? I'd like to get Hazard in, maybe Jesus too depending on how much he plays tomorrow. I'd like to get Pieters out as well.

      DDG - Pickford
      Stephens - Kompany - Pieters - Naughton - Kingsley
King - Coutinho - Alli - Alexis - De Roon
      Costa - Defoe - Vardy

Exactly. It's almost like Mourinho considers it a massive insult to fail to beat Wenger, let alone allow Arsenal to score against his team XD

Errrmmmm, slight mismanagement on my part.... I've only just left enough in the bank for Benteke --> Jesus and he's probably rising tonight... Seeing as I'm on holiday all week and don't really want to think FPL, is it reasonable just to pull the trigger now? I've been hurt before 😆

      Caballero / Pickford

Those with TC and BB still available: aren't you considering BB in GW36 and TC in GW37 ?

Sanchez TC in GW36 just doesn't look good.
Hazard TC in GW37 looks much better.

Time to wildcard but do you have any differencial in your tactics?

I'm thinking of going Özil before Alli.
      Costa before Kane.
Leave Soton players out, maybe just Stevens.

Oxlade-Chamberlain. Interested in tomorrow's lineup. He has been Arsenal's best player in recent weeks. If he takes Walcott's place on the right then he will get attacking points IMO.

I am maxed out on funds. Coupe is just cheap and should at least get 4 points with the double.

? it was one poor game. He has played well before that, has double gameweeks, and he is relatively cheap.

Capping him maybe was a bad decision.
But owning him ahead of two GWs for 6.4 is good nevertheless.

Perhaps. Also take note that So'ton were woeful at creating chances against Hull and ManCity. Hard to score if your team can't even provide you a chance.
Gabbi nabbed an FPL assist against Chelsea, a game in which So'ton actually created chances in.

Oh behave, his stats and actual FPL returns have been okay enough for him to get a look in. The risk was always rotation and the somewhat disharmony in the Saints camp and erratic team performances.

I've finally lost faith in Defoe. Who to swap for? Obvious one is Jesus or I could bring in someone like Barnes to free up funds to upgrade De Roon to Eriksen. Which would leave my front 7 looking like this:

          King Alli Coutinho Eriksen Alexis
          Vardy Costa

          What to do?

If Spurs lose to Arsenal tomorrow, what does that mean for Spurs / Chelsea assets?

Hovering over Kaku/Zaha > Haz/Costa but head says wait to see they come through unscathed tomorrow even if some ££ lost - no WC so every move is critical at this stage.

Shameless repost as I'm not big enough to make the decision on my own:

Looking at pulling the trigger on this tonight because I can't afford any rises. I don't have a WC left, and this is for both 36 and 37, so I'll have 2FT to sort anything out for 38:

Gibson, Zaha, Coutinho, Lukaku -> Holgate, Sanchez, Sane, Costa (-12)

          Team will be:
          DDG Pickford
          Holgate, Jagielka, PVA, Yoshi, Stephens
          Sanchez, Sane, Hazard, Alli, King
          Kane, Gabbi, Costa

          Yay or Neigh?
