The ScoutCast – Episode 228 – Countdown

The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yes. Arsenal fan here. Too risky for 6.0. Wenger likely to go with Ox and Bellerin, premier league experience

I'm an Arsenal fan as well, and Wenger would be mad to do that, Ox looked lost as a LWB. I fully believe Kolas will start tomm at LWB.

How is Kolasinac supposed to get any Premier League experience if he doesn't play?!

I thought from Wenger's comments that the only reason he didn't start Kolasinac in the Community Shield was he didn't want to throw him straight in at Wembley? All signs point to him starting tomorrow night.

What about this? I haven't even heard of 2 of my bench, it's that crap but don't think it matters, will rely on first 11. Biggest ? is Kolasinec, feel I bought into a bit of hype there.

    DDG
    Kolasinac / Stephens / Ake

He's not nailed as there is an element of doubt there but it does seem likely he'll start.

I also considered Monreal but it was pointed out that he's not really providing much attacking threat from the LCB position. Better options for other teams at £5.5m

In all seriousness tho, Fraser is probably a good shout. JWP as well altho you already have Gabb. Iwobi possibly for a gameweek or 2. Walters as well but after burnleys fixtures clear up

None are going to start so it doesn't really matter, we are just usig them as bench fodder. Long from Burnley is popular here just in case he starts over the new signing but it's very doubtful.

This is from a past article:
"Swansea City’s Angel Rangel has already proved the top target here, claiming 18.7% ownership, even though he is unlikely to wrestle starts from the 4.5-priced Kyle Naughton.

AFC Bournemouth’s Brad Smith and Adrian Mariappa of Watford are also options, with the latter perhaps having the strongest opportunity to claim a starting role having featured heavily towards the end of last season following a run of injuries. He is also under a new manager in Marco Silva, who will have fresh ideas on the Hornets’ defensive line-up.

Burnley’s Kevin Long is another possibility. In the short-term, he could benefit from Michael Keane’s departure. However, James Tarkowski, at 4.5, is perhaps more likely to get the nod alongside Ben Mee, with Sean Dyche surely set to buy in this position.

Axel Tuanzebe of Manchester United is another possibility. But, by opting for him, you’re tying up a United slot and limiting your options elsewhere in your squad.

It pays to stick with the “unfashionable” sources of Fantasy talent when selecting bench fodder.

That could see us turn to the promoted teams and, early on, Uwe Hunemeier has attracted 8.1% ownership to rank second behind Rangel. The German started 11 matches for Brighton and Hove Albion last season, but is expected to be back-up to Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy, who are both priced at 4.5."

I would go with one of those unfashionable sources to avoid price drop
