The ScoutCast – Episode 236 – Pepped

Restored to a five-strong squad, this week’s ScoutCast is still resonating from the shock of Man City’s seven-slice goal pie, served up by Pep at the expense of Stoke City.

That avalanche of goals and points fell into the laps of two of the ScoutCast crew, as Jonty and Andy bask in their post-Pep Wildcard success.

Others weren’t so fortunate, as we tell the tale of an unfortunate 11-point refresh and Az’s 32-point Gameweek misery that has since sparked his own Wildcard activity.

City dominate the community questions driving this 90-minute episode, while we also revisit the Harry Kane debate, fuelled by his latest Wembley misfire.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

    How's it looking:

    Fabianski // Elliot
Jones, Davies, Azi, Otamendi // Mbemba
Carroll, Sterling(c), Silva // Richarlison, Surman
    Vardy, Kane, Lukaku

Are you thinking Burnley will hold out at City? I can see another mauling! Lukaku might get one I reckon. He's my vice captain. Thanks for feedback.

No worries, I think they could score another 4, Kaku could also maul Hudds, tbh if I was 100% certain Sterling was starting I'd C him but it's about 55/45 in Kaku's favour for me atm

I was thinking league and FA cup games for Rose, but perhaps he plays in the PL a week before/after CL fixtures too?

I don't see it as a big problem. I'm not sure I'd want a wingback playing 3 games in 7 days, anyway. Ok for a CB. People are talking about Davies losing his place to Rose, which I don't think will happen any time soon.

Sterling has 50% chance of playing 90 mins in my opinion.

      Jesus significantly lower.

Tough choice but I'm on Sterling and not really considering Jesus. If I decide not to captain Sterling I'd feel safer captaining Kane than Jesus.

Sane the one who played 90 min in both Stoke and Napoli game, that could be a key to this. My prediction is the same starting line up with Sane the one who either subbed of 60 for Kun or making way for Kun in starting line up.

    Captain:
    A) Kane
    B) Jesus

Tough really. If I knew Jesus will play 90 min, easy choice. He will probably get 60-70 minutes tho.

Whats your choice? Got only 1 attacking player from City. Does that lean more towards one of the alternatives?

Mkhi > Silva confirmed to go along with Alli > Sterling earlier in the week.

As I’ve said before I have never had any success with any City player not called Kun. Silva and Sterling owners be prepared for an assist combined from both until Christmas.

Perfectly valid reasoning. My only theory is that as with a fit Aguero he and Kane are the two players we are truly terrified can run amok in any given game and get 3 plus goals. Sanchez had it last year and obviously guys like RVP and Bale in the past.

      1. TheTwelfthMan

Indeed, that's what's been keeping him in so many teams till now. But I can't see him do much of that in the next 4 games, which is what makes a downgrade for the next 4 sensible imo.

I personally think Aguero may not start and will come on late in game and would suggest having Lukaku v Huddersfield and reconsider next week getting Aguero

I think you might be right. I'll make my decision based on Pep Conference tomorrow.

    In all options I have Jesus;
    A) Morata, Ritchie, Sterling and Stones
    B) Abraham, Hazard, Sterling and Stones
    C) Aguero, Ritchie, Sterling and Clark
    D) Aguero, Ritchie, Richarlison and Stones

    Thanks!

Dont use Clark - he was on the bench last match. I'm not convinced about Ritchie either. Of those, I would say C but with different options to Clark and Ritchie, or B.
