The ScoutCast – Episode 237 – Catnap

Pep sunk his teeth into our Gameweeks, while an old moggy took a chunk out of my partner’s arm, depriving me of my appearance on this week’s ScoutCast. I’m not sure which was more painful.

At the mercy of the local A&E, Jonty, Andy and Az became my other emergency service as they stepped up on this latest episode.

Inevitably, Guardiola’s Man City teamsheet dominates your questions and the ensuing chatter. Elsewhere the boys re-appraise Kane after his Wembley haul, revisit Liverpool with their fixtures about to swing and consider whether the heavy-hitting midfielders are poised for a renaissance ahead of Gameweek 10.

As far as I know, I’ve edited out all the “pussy” jokes.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

One thing that's good about this Kane news, looks like the whole FFS community is out in full force and buzzing. That's actually why I play this silly game.

Is Kane -> Morata worth it for a hit? Will be playing T. Carroll (ars) otherwise.

Not for a hit unless you really expect him to be out longer.

On a WC and have Kane Aguero Morata frontline. My PP of Kane was 12.4m. Worth a hold or get rid for Lacazette maybe and leave funds for a transfer back when he's fit?

Ya it's the 0.3m that worries me. Was hopeful that Kane would score this week but mostly was going to be a 2 pointer anyway, wanting him back next week for his plum home fixture v CP

My SV is 12.6, also on WC, with Jesus and Morata, I'm prepared to lose 0.1m to have a playing striker this week.

Kane has already gone from +97% to +70% on fplstats

I seen that....would've been lovely if he went up last night and we got the extra 0.1m before selling

I don't think it's not too bad if Kane is ruled out against United. What could make the situation problematic is that we can't be sure at this stage whether he is out for Palace or even longer. Forced to keep until more news on his comeback

      Exactly.
Luckily he has a big CL game midweek.
If he misses that safe to assume he'll miss palace too.

He could still play vs CPL if he misses the midweek game. He'll play when he's ready, they won't risk him Madrid or not. It's not a cup final.

He could yes. I feel personally if he's not fit enough for Madrid, he's unlikely to be fit for Palace.

It's a lot clearer if he is fit to play Madrid of course.

With either Naughton and T Carroll (or both) coming off my bench this week, worth:

    Naughton to Mee (-4)

I doubt it. Naughton will most likely get 2 points and Mee will score 2 or 6. Its not worth the hassle of reshaping your team around and Swansea have good fixtures afterwards.

    A) Kane to Morata -4pts
    B) Play T.Carroll and pray that both Aguero and Sterling start as no other bench option.

Hamstring is typically between one week - three weeks, depending on severity.

Pogba has blown that theory a little bit, but typically I'd say that's about right.

News described it as "minor strain". If that's ttrue I guess the worst case is that he'll miss the Palace match. If it's worse than minor or even a tear (if I get these terms correctly in english) it could be between 3-6 weeks.

        1. HamezMace
          • 9 Years
          6 years, 6 months ago

          Yes I agree.
Hamstring strain, as reported, 1-3 weeks.

Assume Pogba must be a tear, or just complications.

I reckon the points i'll earn for any striker replacing Kane would be equal to just keeping him on bench. Too many negative transfer, also f's up my other transfer plans.

I'll just stick with him for now. I'm oddly not worried about this.

Well I guess I’m going for the unorthodox 5-3-2 this week

    Elliot (Fabianski)
    Maguire, Azpilicueta, Ward, Jones, Stones
Richarlison, Salah (C), Groß (Loftus-Cheek, Carroll)
    Aguero, Jesus (Kane)

Have I got it the right way round? Already on a -4.

He could but you lose two transfers which may be better used if you have a decent bench this week.

He's had a negative drop of 17% in the space of an hour on fpl stats, but he'll be flagged, so it's tough to call.
Could depend on his midweek fixture.

I think your arrows are the wrong way round unless you're saying Salah, RLC and Otamendi are 'greater than' the others.

Monreal probably better just for this week, Otamendi doesn't have a bad fixture though and is a good long term pick. A.

    FREE HIT draft - thoughts?

    Pope
    Kolasinac, Bellerin, Moreno
    Sanchez, Salah, Cout, Richarlison, Zaha
    Jesus, Vardy

Subs: Ward (to have 1 decent sub) + 3 fodder

  20. DJDave1979

Free hit being used to avoid someone missing one game only really works when you know it will be one game (suspension, say). A hamstring injury could be two or three, easily.

    1. Odikostar
      • 9 Years
      6 years, 6 months ago

True. Really think the Free hit will be more value in blank gw

I'm not sure about the blank GW - scores are typically low because of a lack of teams playing and fewer top assets. This week offers the likes of Sanchez, Salah, and Coutinho ahead of plum home ties.

Kane's injury is likely a short one - Poch is talking about him being ready for Real - I expect he will be ready for Palace. It's clearly a grade 1 injury.

I'm thinking this week might be a great week for the free hit...

United vs Spurs (I have 4 assets) with Kane injured for a short period.
    Doubt over Man City options.
Plum fixture for Arsenal, but very little coverage.
Plum fixture for Liverpool, but very little coverage.

Allows 2 frees for next week, and a little more information.
