Dugout Discussion – Everton vs Swansea City

The curtain falls on Gameweek 18 under the lights of Goodison Park, as a rejuvenated Everton take on an ailing Swansea City.

In Fantasy terms, the focus is quite definitely on the home side and, in particular, their two strikers.

Against the odds, Wayne Rooney is currently revived as a Fantasy option. Perhaps benefitting from the malaise suffered by the premium-priced forward options, Rooney’s 7.5 price tag has attracted over 271,000 new owners ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Rooney goes into tonight’s contest on the back of five goals and an assist from his last four Gameweeks – all from a No 10 role behind lone striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 20-year-old is also a factor in tonight’s match. Backed by over 80,000 new owners and now in 560,000 squads, Calvert-Lewin will bid to further his CV as our third striker “enabler”. He boasts three assists and a goal from his last five Gameweek starts.

But with three clean sheets from their last four Gameweeks, the Toffees defence also demands attention.

In particular, both goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and right-back Jonjoe Kenny will be auditioning for further transfer attention tonight. They were signed by 21,000+ and 62000+ ahead of Swansea’s visit in anticipation of yet another shut-out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Got it down to 4 options.

    A) Kiko to West Ham
    B) Kane and RLC to KDB and DCL (-4)
    C) Morata and RLC to Pogba and DCL (-4)
    D) Save (Do A or B after midweek)

    Hennessey
    Christensen / Jones / Mee
    Hazard / Salah / Sterling / Richalison
    Kane / Morata / Austin

    Speroni / RLC / Kiko / Kenny

      E) something different

Austin is the only player you have that could be classed as a bit different. You’ll struggle to do really well with that team.

What team do you think is improving even though results don’t suggest it?

Hypothetically if you had a wildcard to use next Gameweek who would you bring in as a 1 week punt?

Bring that player in as you have a solid foundation.

Decision made. I'm going for Kanexit! 😯 The blank in 21 is the clincher for me.

Downgrade a premium mid to a West Ham mid in 22, upgrade Morata to get him back. Simples.

I'm a little bit upset over this as I was planning Kane to KDB as a differential move up until last night! Couldn't believe what I was reading on here earlier this morning (China time, just after the Scoutcast funnily enough). I then realised that Jay made a bloody appearance!

Not listened to this weeks scoutcast and it sounds like a treat.

Will say however I really enjoy it as it is, at the end of the day it is meant to be a bunch of people talking and trying to help. Sure Jay seems to have shaken things, but I feel that Az does that anyway!

The fun comes from laughing at each other’s errors (which everyone commits on a regular basis), we are only human after all

I agree. Az talks a lot of sense. There was an episode of FF Surgery with him on it earlier in the season. He was given a lot more time to talk and he was matching Jay for his pearls of wisdom.

    Defence is:
    Pope - Elliot
    Otamendi - Christensen - Jones - Tarkowski - Ogbonna

best replacement for Tarkowski (up to 4.7)? as fixtures are bad for BUR and I already have Pope, and he could be banned from what I heard..

I am thinking about Robertson/Gomez, although I don't know how much nailed they are. Some other suggestions..?

I would think that Robertson is as nailed-on as any until New Year whilst Moreno is a doubt.

Until we know more about Silva's personal reasons, I would go with Sane.

If all seems fine with Silva, then probably whoever is cheapest at the time.

If Rooney keeps this up he will have fooled me because he looks so bad.

And what is it with Everton and pens?

Spurs haven´t had one pen but Everton how many?

Hi guys, thoughts on what to do with this lot? 1.9 itb, 1 FT

    Pope/Elliot
    Kola Azpi Jones Dann
    Salah Gross Richarlison Hazard
    Morata Lacazette

    Subs: RLC, DCL, Holgate

    1. Rich-->Pog and that's it, hope Kola plays
    2. Rich+Kola-->Pogba +defender for a hit
    3. Save FT, see how Pog does away to Leicester as Rich has a decent fixture
    4. Other, suggestions welcome

Personally, I like the Richarlison to Pogba move (see below) - but it is something of a luxury move.

      I would probably do 1).

Alternatively save the FT and reassess next gameweek. Always good to have 2 FTs up your sleeve this time of year.

        Just seen it
I just got rid of Naughton this past gw actually, for Jones
        As for your Dilemma, A
Wouldn't take a hit for a player you wont start this week.

I have both Mbemba and Niasse - so I know the sensible thing is to address both going into the festive fixtures (2FT, 2.0 ITB)

However, am really tempted to bring in Pogba for Richarlison.

    Which option looks best?

    A)
    OUT: Mbemba and Richarlison
    IN:Ogbonna and Pogba
(keep Niasse - have 0 ITB)

    B) -4
    OUT: Naughton, Richarlison and Niasse
    IN: Ogbonna, Pogba and DLC
    (keep Mbemba, have 0.1 ITB)

B could conceivably be spread out over 2 gameweeks if DLC doesn't rise. I wouldn't play him against Chelsea anyway.

    Pope, Myhill
    Otamendi, Christensen, Mee, Naughton, Mbemba**
    Salah, Sane, Hazard, Richarlison, RLC
    Kane, Firmino, Niasse**

    Any thoughts?

Kane and a 7.5 mid or Lukaku and Sterling (-4)?

Lukaku and Sterling for me - as long as you have a plan to get Kane in for the double gameweek.

    Foster Elliott
    Jones Mee Ogbonna Naughton Moreno
    Countinho Salah Hazard Rich Tarroll
    Kane DCL Morata

    1 FT 0.6m ITB

So many issues with the team, where should i start?

Transfer out Cout and get Pogba or Sterling to avoid double Pool players?
