A full quarter of the top 10k are fantasy football scout followers. If that's not a reason to join this site, I don't know what is... although I wonder if there's a point where we have to employ a tory immigration policy to keep out the casuals...

I just don't like my team this week and I don't even know why really.

    Ospina
    Skrtel JT PvA
    Sanchez Fabregas Larsson Hazard
    Aguero Giroud Wickham

    Schmeichel Cambiasso Schlupp Vlaar

It's all quite logical, I know Hazard will probably be rested but I'd be happy to play Cambiasso. I want Fabregas and Hazard for GW38 when Chelsea beat Sunderland 6-0. 🙂

I think the problem may be that with 3 Arsenal, 3 Sunderland, 3 Chelsea and 3 Leicester the squad is unbalanced. Maybe I should have brought in Kane instead of Wickham?

Too late now anyway, no FTs left and I don't plan on taking a hit. 😕

I don't want Silva. He scored his points last week and Fabregas will outscore him in GW37/38.

You have the same 3 Arsenal players as me, maybe that is why you are not happy with it. I am seriously considering Ospina & Haz > Panti & Caz for -8 😆

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 9 Years

I looked at that before I used my FT. Could have done something like that for -4. But I'm extremely reluctant to take hits now, especially not to change perfectly good Arsenal players.

Maybe I have just been too conservative? We'll see.

Yea depends on your position. I am not too bothered about OR, just my ML's which I have all but won. So could have a few punts and hits but still not sure.

3 Arsenal, 2 Sunderland, 2 Chelsea, 2 Man City. Thats why i am concerned about getting extra Sunderland.

        Add 2 Leicester to that!

It's unusual to see 3 Leicester/ 3 Sunderland players in your team that's all.
The fixtures have pointed that way. I'd leave it now tho I think Kane owners may get rewarded this week.
Would you play Schlupp over Cambiasso? There's a good chance of a 0-0 there I feel, neither team will want to lose that and a 'prearranged' draw may suit both clubs.

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 9 Years

I wrote about that yesterday actually. I agree, a 0-0 would not be a disaster for either team. But Leicester have been successful on the front foot and I don't think Pearson will risk withdrawing them into their shell. I think there will be goals and quite possibly a few save points too.

Looks good imo mate. Wouldn't touch Wickham personally but it's certainly a punt that could work out. 4 points minimum I guess, but his fixture next week is worrying. What are you doing with him then?

What makes you so confident of a Chelsea battering in GW38?

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 8 days ago

I'll have two options in GW38:

        1. Bench Wickham and play 3-5-2 with Larsson becoming Ashley Young or Cleverley;
        2. Bench Larsson and Wickham becomes Benteke or Rooney (but requires a hit).

Probably 1 but it depends on whether Villa are safe partly.

The Chelsea GW38 thing is based on having seen a lot of big scorelines at Stamford Bridge on the last day of season, going way back. Especially when the mood is high (as it will be). Last time Chelsea won the PL they beat Wigan 8-0 on the final day.

I'm sure it's selective memory to some degree though because you tend to remember the big scorelines more. But I will be at the game and that adds to the attraction. If Sunderland are safe or already relegated it could be a bloodbath. I just hope they have nothing to play for.

      As of GW36:

      Ospina 16%
      Bellerin 33%
      Koscielny 12%
      Sanchez 74%
      Ramsey 18%
      Cazorla 15%
      Ozil 13%
      Giroud 47%

        Thanks Ruth
Sanchez high enough so no real gain there (c) wise
        Ramsey looks the punt
Pity Girouds firm seems to have dipped he may have been worth the gamble.
A cs doesn't look so flaming right now I'm not sure Bellerin will play both.

          • 9 Years

I think Bellerin is a really good pick and I think he will play both. Debuchy had/has a hamstring strain, right? Unlikely he'll be back and Chambers won't be picked over Bellerin.

I have Ospina/Sanchez/Giroud. My only uncertainty is whether to captain Sanchez or Giroud but I'll probably make the safety play.

The choice is killing me right now. Sanchez is must, I don't dare to go to DGW without him captained, but after that... I don't see Arsenal actually scoring all that much, nor conceding, in the rest of the season. This can well be like 0-0, 2-0, 2-0, or something like that. They're playing two ultra-defensive teams, and then WBA who don't have attack, so doubling up on the defence seems wiser than doubling up on their midfield. But then, I can't do a straight swap for Kos. And to take a -4 either for swapping Skrtel to PVA or making changes in the bench fodder doesn't appeal to me.

Gabriel will play 1 game I'd say but you'd have thought that's ahead of Mertesacker rather than Koscielny. It's nothing more than a calculated prediction though.

Would get Gomez in. If not, would play Hazard or Cambiasso if Hazard gets benched.

Sensible move is to do nothing, but I was wondering if people think it's worth the risk to gain rank if you have 3 Arsenal and PVA already or if I should just hold onto my decent rank

"I have been in football many years but the decision of Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United to not play Pogba and let him leave is one of the strangest decisions I have ever seen," he told the Daily Express.

"Just after a few training sessions, we saw how good he was. It cannot have been the same player they saw in Manchester – we thought they maybe needed glasses!"

No, Buffon, YOU need glasses. Clearly you failed to see the majesty of Tom Cleverley.

But then, it appears they need glasses in Manchester, too, since Cleverley no longer plays there either.

Start Hazard. If he's rested Vardy will come on anyway. You'd rather that happen then Hazard starting, getting 10+ points and not coming on because Vardy got 2 pts

If Hazard is being rested, he won't come on anyway so no problems about him getting a minute for you.

Weirdly, thinking of saving my FT, this week (will need it to transfer out players who I don't think will play in the final week, such as probably Giroud/Benteke). Think I don't need more DGWers:

    Schmeichel
    Terry, PvA, Skrtel (Ivanovic, Huth)
    Sanchez, Ramsey, J.Gomez, Coutinho (Young)
    Giroud, Aguero, Benteke

Wise? Also, have I benched the right defenders?

I think GW37 is an *okay* week to sell Hazard - the main question is whether he comes straight back in for GW38.

If he does, I can only afford Sanchez > Hazard next GW.

Don't lose Silva! If you wan't to bring in Ozil/Ramsey, take out Hazard (reluctantly).

My bad, Ivan is Terry - sold Ivan last week to fund Sanchez in 😀

Yea he looked really good against QPR...but City are rarely great away from home. Tough decision with GW38 and SUN(H) for Chelsea to think about too.

        1. RustyBz
          • 9 Years

Terry-> Koscielny is still a fair choice.

He did and he always has the chance to bring in a really good haul. It's hard to make decisions around Chelsea now because we just don't know what Jose will do.

          I'd stick with Silva personally.

just increased possibility of being rested to give kids a chance. Makes sense with Jose talking about the integrity of the league.

Play best players vs Liverpool who had CL place to fight for.
Does he need to play best players vs WBA who have nothing to play for?
WIll probably have to field best players as Sunderland may still be fighting for survival.

Meeh I didn't think of that. Just got rid of Cahill and Courtois tho so I'm hoping he'll play Hazard. I would imagine him resting lesser players than Haz tho?

No. Chelsea have been flagging "Hazard is tired" for 3-4 weeks. The player has mentioned it himself. Doesn't mean he won't play but a rest looks fairly likely.

Henderson -> Gomis? I couldn't think of a more boring transfer right now but it would enable an equally boring Kane -> Benteke next week.

Is it me or is this Sunderland DGW one of the most meh ways to end a season. I feel like a SGW transfer is a much more fun and maverick thing to do but it simply isn't logical. Particularly when there aren't any easy alternatives from this lot with GW38 in mind.

    Mignolet
    PVA BELLERIN Ivan
    SANCHEZ Silva Hazard Henderson
    GIROUD Aguero Kane

    Subs: Toby Dawson Bentalab Krul
    0.6

So do the boring Henderson -> Gomis? or try something different? I'm open to suggestions

Although interestingly Gomis mightn't be a bad option as a Kane replacement in GW38. I might have accidentally stumbled across an interesting option, he's a fair bit cheaper than Benteke so I wouldn't need to free up so much cash this week.

definitely. I don't buy the resting nonsense. Sherwood would want to sign off the league in style, and go in to the final confident - rather than fail to score without Benteke and go into the final a defeated team.

Yeah I don't expect much from Gomez, more to just cover myself in case Sunderland do something unexpected, I got that wrong in previous DGW's this season. The biggest factor is it enables an easier upgrade to Benteke next week but I'd still be stuck with Gomez AND Bentalab which of course isn't ideal in many ways. My GW38 defence won't be great either with 3 up against the top 3 teams.

haha fair enough. I've not played Bloodborne yet but loved DS 1 and DS 2. Incredibly frustrating but they keep you coming back for more and more. I'd give them a go if you find that you enjoy bloodborne...

I've spent a few hours on blood, but haven't got that far into the game at all as I keep dying. How i long for the modern type respawns.

It's bloody awesome. You will love it once you get the hang of it. I'm about to start New Game Plus.

Oh cool that doesn't sound too long! Dark Souls took me about 50-60 hours...

Housemates are scavengers. That feel when you go to make your morning coffee and the milk you bought yesterday has vanished.

      Sounds unbearable.

Living with strangers especially is a nightmare. My girlfriend and I live in a house share where tenants change quite frequently, in a house of people in their early 20s there's statistically always one knob (they may claim that it's me).

Good to go this week guys?

    Ospina
    Terry - Vlaar - Skrtel
    Sanchez (C) - Ramsey - Gomez - Coutinho
    Kane - Aguero - Graham

    Bench - Krul - Silva - Fonte - Schlupp

Know benching Silva might not be popular around these parts but fancy Coutinho to outscore him this week.

Benching Silva is pretty mad. Drop Coutinho

But good to go transfers wise.

3 if you are chasing, 1 if you are not.
