The Numbers Game – Everton’s Potential Analysed

Sometimes, even those Fantasy managers who factor in form above all else are forced to revise their approach by the machinations of the Premier League fixture computer.

One of those sometimes is now.

Everton’s run of opponents, right up until the end of the year, is nothing short of extraordinary.

Beginning with the weekend’s Goodison Park meeting with struggling Sunderland, Roberto Martinez’s men avoid all of last season’s top eight clubs between Gameweek 11-19.

Sunday’s encounter is the first of five home matches in a run that has Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Stoke drop in on Merseyside. Around the home comforts, the Toffees travel to face West Ham, Bournemouth, Norwich and Newcastle – a less than daunting menu of away trips.

Suddenly, Fantasy managers are scanning Martinez’ squad and attempting to decipher the key targets and the optimum time to draft them in.

In this latest article for members, we’ll attempt to tackle this subject head on. Firstly, by analysing Everton’s current form in detail, before assessing their major performers and weighing up the merits of investment ahead Saturdays Gameweek 11 deadline.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Two Questions:

    1. Play Moreno (a) or Simpson (b)
    2. Drop one of Martial (a), Mahrez (b), or Yaya (c)

    Currently on 1a and 2a

    1. Champione

Play Simpson and drop Martial. WBA dont't score lots of goals. I can see a 0-2 in that match, while Chelsea have to score and impress

Lots of strikers with brilliant potential for the next few matches, so you have to get a striker which is in front of goal. Martial is an awesome player, but on the left wing I can see better options..

WBA away is a blank for Vardy, the 2 after that are pretty good, but he won't be only striker scoring goals those weeks and there will be other fts to be made, keeping means he will end up being in to long, but you will find that out the hard way.

Thinking of havin a midfield of:

    Hazard KDB Mane Sanchez

    Forward line would then be:

    Vardy Martial Ighalo

Is my striker force too weak as a result of midfield?

The problem might be that this weekend...or the next...he might nab a goal or an assist.

He's bound to do that eventually due to where he plays and the team he plays for....and maybe you will try to convince yourself he's worth all that money...But he isn't.

One downside of going the Bony route is that when Kun is back, unless we know for sure if he will be playing on the weekend he's expected to return it could cause a bit of premature transferring if that makes sense. Could bring him in and then see Bony start with him coming on in the last 15min...

Just wait for Aguero to get warmed up, my team will be so good by then I don't even care about buying him, he will need to get a brace or hatrick for me to bring him in fast, would have to then before he raises out of price range

        Evening all.

Just writing up my bandwagons article for this week. I have already done the write up for two players; Kane and VVD, but I am struggling for the 3rd.

There are a few candidates but I don't think any really satisfy the definition of a bandwagon.

Who do you think should be the third? Is there anyone in particular that you would like to see be analysed?

          1. Rödallegabomb á´¿á´®
            • 11 Years

Hmm, is he really a bandwagon though?

Not mentioned much on here at all, and only 6k transfers in this week.

He could be a great option, but I'd say he is more 'under the radar' than a bandwagon.

This is who I was thinking, with Zabaleta looking like he could be out for another couple of months.

Only thing is the fact that people on here seem to have other preferences on who they wish to bring in this week, so it would be stretching the term 'bandwagon' a little.

It doesn't look like there are many other options though so I may well go with him.

How many of you guys are captaining Kane?

Is that risky considering city options?

Lovely feeling when you see KDB being subbed off after 60min and you've got a MNF-cap! Go with Kane

Love the assumption that being subbed off after 60 min equals a low score.

Any hits needed? I don't have Bony, Kane, Lukaku, Barkley or Ozil that are all good options for next few weeks.

        Players to remove would be:
Redmond in Midfield (currently on the bench)
Diouf upfront, but playing Newcastle this week and well rested physically if not mentally.

Help, I've been going round in circles with this:

        2FTs, 5.8m itb.

        Butland, Ruddy
        Bellerin, Bertrand, Cresswell, Francis, STaylor
        Sanchez, KDB, Payet, Mahrez, Westwood
        Vardy, Pelle, Martial

Thinking of selling Ruddy, Francis, Westwood, Martial. Can't decide which takes priority this gw, and who to bring in. Any suggestions appreciated.

Just read a BBC article about Rooney, everyone blames LVG for Rooney's 'form' - he gets no service. So Rooney will continue where he is

Put him on the bench and leave it to Martial with Mat and Depay feeding.
