The ScoutCast – Episode 191 – Penultimate

One more Gameweek. One more ScoutCast. The final whistle has almost blown on a remarkable season but we’re determined to fully exploit the final throws.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we open a bumper 80-minute show with our dedication to Leicester City’s extraordinary title win. We then quickly shift to take on another raft of community questions as thoughts turn to Gameweek 37’s double fixtures.

We run the rule over the protagonists, assessing West Ham’s assets, Eden Hazard’s renaissance and even make an attempt to find a reason to make a late investment in Norwich City. Then necks are put on the block as we review the weekend fixtures, coming clean on our current double Gameweek transfer and captaincy plans.

The ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

i've 3 transfers. No injury worries. Thinking of staying on Fab (c), move over to Aguero...then transfer him out for Carroll v ManU....then a punt on Deeney v Norwich

That leaves one transfer to get in Mane or Tadic somewhere for the final match. Or Sanchez.

Think I'm going to hang onto Firmino. He'll play at least once (v CHE) and it'd be a hit to remove him. He was so impressive last night that I'm willing to take one game from him I think over -4 and another player.

Hazard is the only one to tempt me.

But keeping Firmino makes ditching him GWK 38 for Tadic/Mane really simple.

Also I have Fabregas and I'm not convinced that sun and liv away will be huge goal fests. Both looking solid defensively. I think Fab and Haz may be overkill when they don't have the same awesome fixtures as say West Ham.

As the season comes to an end I feel like taking punts on players that I like. For me Tadic on penalties and THAT GWK 8...merit inclusion for me. Mane is hattrick or bust - you have to prepare yourself for disappointment and joy in equal measure.

Yup, my thoughts too.. Tadic feels more reliable for some reason, he's in form and talking himself up too..

Mané could easily destroy us though 😛

If Arsenal weren't playing Man City away I'd say that was a tough choice.

My bench will be fully Arsenal - can't see City rolling over v Arsenal.

Doing the same with Coutinho. Have the usual ones plus Haz and there really isn't much midfield options worth a hit.

Took a hit to remove him last week as part of my post-wildcard meltdown. I'm now looking at Milner with increasing suspicion - he could be part of my next cull.

He's the same as Firmino - he'll get one game. Depends who you take him out for and will that new player get more than four points than Milner in his one game.

Aside from Payet, possibly Noble, Hazard and Fabregas I'm not sure many will.

Well I was considering Iwobi/Kane ➡ Hazard/Defoe which would mean benching Sanchez or Milner.

I could also do Milner/Kane ➡ Hazard/Carroll which would mean playing Sanchez.

I think I'm leaning towards the second option even though it gives me less 'potential' DGW players...

            Tough one.

Carroll is better than Defoe this gwk.

But Milner has the potential to do well v CHE, while Iwobi will get zero v City. I also think Sanchez will do poorly as well. Personally I'm benching Sanchez.

Is there a way of taking another hit or an alternative to Hazard to get Carroll?

More hits are of course possible but I'm a little reluctant - should have done my transfers last night and could have afforded Iwobi/Kane ➡ Hazard/Carroll. I could do Fabregas instead of Hazard but where's the flair in that? 🙂

Both of the transfer options above result in benching Iwobi so he's an irrelevance this week, it's just whether I think he'll play and do well GW38.

    Worth doing Bellerin>Martin for -4?
Or any other defender who is not from WHM, ManU or SUN?

Simpson or Gabriel out for Ivanovic?
Gabriel out would open up a spot for an arsenal attack option next week.

arsenal will probably rotate against villa. gabriel is more likely to start than most of the midfield options, imo.

Gabriel if you are low on Arsenal attackers and already have Bellerin.

Personally I'll go into the Villa game with Gab, Bellerin and Sanchez (c). Can't see Villa scoring and don't trust any Arsenal attackers other than Sanchez.

Yep, think those are good moves - don't think Studge will start vs. Watford though he might feature off the bench.

Would you, do Lingard-> Redmond (-4)?

Lingard might lose his spot to Mata..

How likely is Valencia to start both matches given that LVG has indicated he will rotate?

Absolutely not worth it. Smalling or ignore is the mantra for the United defence this year.

I have 5.2 to spend on any defender - would be for a hit. Worth it?

    Hmmmm.

TFM, KDB & Sturridge -> Ivanovic, Hazard & Carroll -8.

Look ok? (Ivanovic could be Smalling)

      Yo Viper

Think Smalling is a good bet as he also has Bournemouth at home in the last game; you'll be getting Haz anyway to cover the chavs.

Good moves if you want the -8!
