The Numbers Game – Crystal Palace

Our series of pre-season members’ articles continues with a look at Crystal Palace.

We kick off our analysis by assessing their team displays against the 2015/16 campaign, before scanning their primary goal threats and creators.

We’ll also take time to compare their displays under both Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce, with one eye on what the now managerless Eagles can offer in 2017/18.

After battling to beat the drop for most of the season, the Palace ended the last campaign in fourteenth position on 41 points – more or less identical to 2015/16, where they ended in fifteenth spot with 42 points.

In terms of a cutting edge, there was a definite improvement – a total of 39 goals in 2015/16 was better than just two other teams, but this jumped to 50 last time out, the ninth most impressive scoring record in the top-flight.

But when assessing the two seasons, there was little difference in the underlying numbers.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

A hot whiskey does the job.

Ginger is good for stomach upset and not sure about maple. Think honey has more anti bacterial properties.

only if it hasn't been heated. heating denatures the beneficial enzymes in the honey.

When do most people on here use their first Wildcard?

Last season I used mine going into the busy festive period so I could cope with rotation and surprise team sheets.

Whenever I feel i need it to tbh.

Pre-planning a WC is not my cup of tea. But if you ask what would probably be a good time.
1st or 2nd international break seems fine

Early GWs usually. I think it was GW3 for me last season. I hope to keep it for that extra busy period in the Winter this season when there's about 4 games in 2 weeks. What I actually end up doing is another thing.

In a drunken stupor usually after having a bad gw.
Best result i got from it was a few seasons ago when i used it in gw2 to catch price risers in the year of the Michu.

Used it in gw6 last season and it did not go well on paper 4 red arrows in a row after it.
You could certainly live without that first wc if you had to.

Activated it in GW4 the last 2 years, saw a nice short term return, but struggled. Would have been a bit wiser to hold on to it longer.

rumour has it you can use it during the week 3/4 international break while the stock market surges and churns to create team value.

Btw, when it comes to tennis the answer is always Connors.
Well, ok, some times the answer can be John McEnroe.

Connors - bah humbug. See 1984.
The 1975 Ashe final was a great moment. The greatest final of all ..... 2008, both heroes
