The Weekend Team News

Spurs are dealt a massive blow as Harry Kane is ruled out of their trip to Manchester United. West Brom have concerns at the back ahead of a home clash with league leaders Man City, while Bournemouth have mixed news up front as Chelsea roll up to the Vitality Stadium. Here’s our round-up of the team news so far, with eleven press conferences still to come today.

Earlier this morning, Spurs confirmed that Harry Kane has a minor strain to his left hamstring after undergoing assessments.

With a Champions League clash against Real Madrid in midweek, Mauricio Pochettino admitted that his star striker will miss tomorrow’s crucial trip to Old Trafford.

“We cannot take a risk for tomorrow, we’ll see after for Wednesday (v Real Madrid). But tomorrow, it is impossible.”

Fernando Llorente or Son Heung-min will now lead the Spurs attack at Old Trafford, with Pochettino perhaps set to field a 3-4-2-1 formation.

Meanwhile, United’s first-choice centre-halves Phil Jones and Eric Bailly, along with Marcus Rashford, were all pictured back in training yesterday.

Arsene Wenger has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home encounter against Swansea City.

Martin Olsson is almost certain to miss out for the Swans due to a hamstring injury, while Renato Sanches and Wilfried Bony remain sidelined.

James McArthur and Chung-yong Lee are both doubtful for Crystal Palace’s home fixture against West Ham United due to knocks.

Georginio Wijnaldum has recovered from a knee injury, and is fit to return for Liverpool’s home meeting with Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers’ Elias Kachunga has trained all week following a back injury, and is available for the Anfield clash. Collin Quaner has a chance of being involved after stepping up his recovery from a calf injury.

Roberto Pereyra will miss Watford’s home clash against Stoke City due to a hamstring injury, while Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul remain out.

Peter Crouch (back) is a slight doubt for the Potters, while Bruno Martins Indi remains sidelined.

Tony Pulis will be without Craig Dawson (knee) and James Morrison (achilles) for the home encounter with Manchester City. Gareth Barry (hamstring) and Jonny Evans (groin) remain concerns for the Baggies.

Jermain Defoe is back in training following a hamstring injury and “should be fine” for Bournemouth’s home match with Chelsea, according to Eddie Howe. Josh King has recovered from illness but is now doubtful due to a back problem, while Ryan Fraser will be assessed after picking up a knock in midweek.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche revealed Chris Wood is “touch and go” for the Monday night meeting with Newcastle United due to a hamstring injury, but Sam Vokes could return following an abdominal strain.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this tomorrow’s 11.30am deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from today’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Agree with this. He was 99% to rise...needs about 300k out to fall!

      Flagged, so unlikely.
He was also +97% so unlikely to get as much as a 200% swing,

Tempted to go Kane to Morata but would want to make the swap back next week so wouldnt be worth -8pts. Probs keep and bench.

Certainly a decent chance and I've subbed him into a 5 at the back as a result of this news, but I had him already. I reckon it's worth a free transfer but not worth a -4, and even then only if you were planning on getting him soon anyway.

I was very close to W/C, now really thinking about it. Would you?

    c.100k, with this rabble:

    Elliot DDG
    Jones Davies* Suttner* Naughton Long*
    Salah Silva Sterling* Atsu Carroll
    Kane* Aguero* Abraham

    Lots of injury/rotation doubts.
Lots of my ML have already used their W/C and I am top of most, so risk seems low?

    Would appreciate your thoughts

Bavies looks like price is going to fall again tomorrow, I've gotten rid and have a FT left.. thinking I'm better off sucking it up and playing 4-4-2 with Vardy and Jesus (will have to hold my breath) with Ruben loftus-bumcheek as my first sub and Kane and Angel as two non playing subs rather than using a free hit chip (although I'm not sure if there's a time I will play it)

Can’t see Kane dropping more than once. Could be worse if they rush him back for the Real game and then it goes properly.

Massive shame for the guy, in the form of his life.

Surely he’d be sat on the pine against Palace at best? They’d surely win that game without him, then he has an international break to recover for Arsenal game

-8 already, would be -12 to transfer out Kane.

    Team is:

    DDG / Elliot
    Otamendi / Davies / Britos / Naughton / 4.0
    Salah / Sterling / Richarlison / Ritchie / TC
    Kun / Kane / Tammy

Good reason to hit WC button ?

-12 I can take anytime later in the season if I need it, right ?

Will lose Kane as SV is 12.6m and I think he'll drop down to that before I need him back, so no money lost. Question is who is his best 1-2 week replacement?

It's 2FT if you ever want him back, plus a financial hit if he doesn't drop much (and he won't).

          • 6 Years

I'd argue 2FT is also no biggie. I think he'll drop 0.1, but prepared to take that risk - if the replacement rises then I'm laughing

Also are they really going to risk him vs CPL? If he was playing you'd expect a haul but not if he's glued to the bench
