Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs Everton

After Brighton and Southampton finished all-square at the Amex, we now make our way to the King Power Stadium as Leicester City entertain Everton at 4pm.

In what has been a hugely underwhelming Gameweek for the main captain picks in Fantasy Premier League, two of the top 14 armband choices – Jamie Vardy and Wayne Rooney – now go head-to-head.

The Foxes’ Vardy carries the captaincy hopes of 1.76% as he looks to end a three-match barren streak. Still boasting a 14% ownership, he’s scored in two of his last three home matches – against Chelsea and Liverpool.

Yet it’s Riyad Mahrez who is the hosts’ form player on the back of a goal and two assists in the last two Gameweeks.

The Algerian also netted in the midweek cup win over Leeds and could be one to consider if Leicester can click under the stewardship of new manager Claude Puel. Up next, they have Stoke, West Ham, Burnley and Newcastle in the upcoming six rounds of fixtures.

Everton are another team in transition after last week’s departure of Ronald Koeman.

Rooney – their most popular FPL player with a 10.2% ownership – has a 1.27% armband backing after netting his fourth of the season against Arsenal last time out.

With the fixtures still in the Toffees’ favour, we’re hoping that David Unsworth can get the best out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin (5.0) as a budget forward, though Gylfi Sigurdsson’s Fantasy stock goes from bad to worse as he drops to the visitors’ bench.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I bought him first time this season, this week, as a 2 week Lukaku placeholder. If he does well again, I may hold and find another way to get Lukaku. The only reason that made me get him was that he was a very short term pick. Else I was staying away.

What game were you watching? He played great was very lively with a full week's rest. Scored, drew the pen and had a couple chances. He was also the only one on the pitch to get an 8 from The Echo.

Interesting selection, considering a couple of weeks ago many were adamant both Jesus and Aguero were needed. Seems as good a choice as any, but if Aguero suddenly becomes essential again you might struggle to get him in.

Free Hit chip this gw been knocked down by several players around, and still advised for blanks or DGW.
I understand, but some of us made this GW the best uprise in OR due to the FH, and can still have good prospects for GW11 (had Kun+Sterling, went Jesus+Sane on FH and now Kun+Sterl back - just an example)
If used on blanks/smaller GWs u can afford a perfect XI...of mediocre teams.

This GW was a very good oportunity, as next GW.
If u feel a need of many players u don't have but also afraid to sell, then do it.
Play it, this should be fun.

the ones that used had bad teams for this GW, injuries, rotation risk and players with good fixtures coming up - ME

            Wrong choices..i guess.
Like an early WC, u get preseason to make choices and then spend it on GW2 or something

I don't know what this is trying to say, but the chip will allow you to get mediocre XI mediocre players for 1 week without compromising your actual XI which is perfect in a blank GW. The others may have to get mediocre players in their XI and play them over a few weeks.

You don't only need to use it in blanks. Can also use it in a DGW. There's usually ended up being 2-3 DGWs. Last one had Palace Boro players that people carried into subsequent GWs. Can just load up on one of the weeks.

Can also use it in GW38 when all fringe players play. There's plenty of ways to use it to maximize points.

This is a much better plan - the 38GW can be gold for it.

I hope i have my cash ML wrapped 😉 and my OR locked around 200K.

leaving the humble brag aside isn't the point of fhc not so much what you get but what you would have got if not used it
ie. was your team decimated enough that there won't be a better opportunity later in the season

not brag (again), just sayin that it was a good strategy as any other, but ALL we see here is killing the idea of use it instead of a blank+DGW. That's it, really

Some people do well with Free Hit for sure. But the average score of people using Free Hit this week is 39.8. That is identical to the average overall score. Seems pretty conclusive to me. Save it for blank or DGW. https://fpldiscovery.wordpress.com/2017/10/29/1718-gw-10-intermediate-results-sunday/#more-8693

He has been a troll every time I've got him in so don't really like him as a FPL asset 😀

If he's completely nailed then he is a bargain at 4.5. Strongly considering getting him this week.

Yeah, me too -- as Monreal replacement. He's really tempting due to Pool's good fixtures, so worths the risk imo.

We can troll the LFC defence all we like (and they've been absolutely terrible away from home) but at the end of the day that's 4.5m for an attacking top 6 defender.

Looked at other 4.5 options, but liked Pool's fixtures the most.

Firstly, I had decided to go with Duffy, but then saw that he's 2 YC from suspension.

If Man City win or draw midweek.......i think they will let lose on Arsenal next week and I just have a gut feeling they are going to smash the groomers.

I wouldn't 'lol @' anyone for playing it. If they felt they needed to play it them well and good. Some people who played it were knocking people who weren't playing it. This is just as bad. For me, I felt I didn't need to play it. As it turned out I didn't need to play. I'll look forward to using it when it do...

I don't get anyone 'lol'ing @' anyone for playing/not playing it. Ignore the hate. 5m+ managers. Everyone has a different team and different circumstances. Play your own game!! May the best man win...

Was wondering who to get in for Kola... Daniels or a Pool player... but logic now says Daniels ... nailed player with attacking motivation. Does he also have set pieces?

Suit yourself but Bournemouth are terrible. 1 CS so far even with 6 nice fixtures coming up they'll be hard pressed to get more than that.

Always go with the overall average regardless of what people on here score. You will only mostly hear about the high scores here.
