Scout Notes

Scout Notes – Relentless Kane Rolls On

Harry Kane emphatically breaks more records and the hearts of those Fantasy managers who risked turning their back on his talents ahead of an impending blank.

The Spurs striker made it back-to-back hat-tricks from a blisteringly productive festive schedule so far. In doing so, he shattered Alan Shearer’s Premier League record for goals in a calendar year.

Those Fantasy managers who showed patience and held on to Kane will be overjoyed, but now have another difficult decision ahead of them.

They will face a dilemma with a second consecutive 17-point to sweeten the pill, but two hat-tricks in the space of three days cannot shift the fact that Kane now has a blank to come.

More than 131,000 managers had brought him in for the 5-2 win over Southampton regardless of that blank, with 1,161,712 making him the most-captained player of Gameweek 20.

They are now part of a 41.2% Fantasy Premier League (FPL) ownership that must decide whether to stick or twist on the forward.

Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata is an obvious replacement for Gameweek 21, and he made his case with a first goal since Gameweek 15. To add to the Spaniard’s appeal, the Blues entertain Stoke City next and the Potters, already without Kurt Zouma, saw their skipper Ryan Shawcross limp off today.

But the downside of selling Kane involves cost – in both price and transfers expended.

His value is on the move. It rose to 12.9 ahead of Boxing Day and could increase again before Gameweek 21 with a number of managers either oblivious to, or simply not caring about, his blank.

Some 33,000 have already transferred him in for his non-existent Gameweek 21, so should his price rise again, those selling him could lose profit as well as the two transfers the transaction will cost – assuming, that is, that they bring Kane back for fixtures with Swansea City and West Ham. That is surely a given.

Ignoring Kane for that upcoming pair of attractive fixtures seems untenable. He will be the most-captained for Gameweek 22 and, those with the Triple Captain chip in hand will surely consider putting it in play on the back of Kane’s confidence and devastating form.

Spurs Midfield stake their claim

Kane isn’t the only member of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad who warrants consideration ahead of the double-header.

Son Heung-min is building a convincing case.

The midfielder started his sixth straight match against Southampton and produced a goal, two assists and a bonus point for a second double-digit haul of that run.

In fact, Son has managed four goals and as many assists from those six matches and although he’s currently the fourth most bought player despite the blank Gameweek 21, he’s still only owned by 3.9%.

Previously far more popular, Dele Alli (11.5%) is also enjoying a min-revival.

He followed up his brace of assists at Burnley with two more, and a goal, against the Saints, with two bonus points pushing his Gameweek tally to a season’s best 15.

Son’s 8.0 price and his considerably more consistent recent form will ensure that the South Korean is favoured, with Alli reduced to an unlikely Gameweek 22 differential.

The same will probably apply to Christian Erisken. The Dane’s assist was dwarfed by other performances, but marked a fifth return in six Gameweeks.

Elsewhere, it remains difficult to justify investment in the Spurs defence.

Pochettino’s rotation policy concerning his wing-backs is now confusing everyone but him, with Serge Aurier (0.5%) handed a second straight start – and his third in four matches – as Kieran Trippier (5.8%) joined Ben Davies on the bench.

With the points potential of Spurs’ wing-backs now difficult to predict, the side’s lack of defensive stability – they’ve kept just two clean sheets since Gameweek 12 – further dampens the appeal of recruitment for the forthcoming double.

How may pints of beer get you drunk?

Currently on number 12 and nothing happens. Stella is the flavour

I think beer is overrated if you want to get drunk

What would be a decent score for your TC (Kane next week)?

Realisitically, there's a very small chance he'll blank in both of those fixtures. So, for approximately 160 mins I would expect two goals, one assist maybe and 3 bonus lets say. 18x3=54 pts and I'm good

Really need to address Niasse. Worth a -4 for the following if Sane doesn't haul tonight:

            OUT: Sane and Niasse
            IN; Silva and Depoitre

Alternative would be a 5.0 or cheaper forward. I also have Sterling.

The games are being won by these 3 player's contributions - and you'd presume by subbing them early, they'll start the next games?

well done owning all 3 of them. you must be delighted over the last few gw's.

id keep all 3 of them. most probably 2 of them will start each game and even if one gets a rest you should do fine

            B) Carroll > Lingard

            Which is the better move?

            De Gea
            Christensen Jones Kenny Mee
            Haz Salah Richarlison Sterling
            Kane Firmino

            Daniels+Pogba -> Alonso+Lingard -4p?

Thoughts on that please? Pogba is playing really DEEP, wait or do it?

            Repost, bottomed

            Elliot (Pope)
            Mee Kenny jones Ota (Wimmer)
            Salah Sterling Richarlison RLC (Lanzini*)
            Kun Firmino (Kane*)

Thinking about Lanzini and Kane to Lingard and Morata and then Kun and Richarlison to Lanzini and Kane the following week. Got the cash to play with and think the -8 (ie -4 each week) should pay for itself over the 2 weeks. My main concern is whether my city and Liverpool players will get any minutes at all as all due a rest

            Thoughts?

Having a very hard time with this. I want to transfer Kane to Morata for this game week as I think he'll demolish stoke. As of now, Kane is at the 12.6 mill mark because I've had him nearly all season.

Basically what I'm asking is; is it worth it to get Morata in this week, then transfer him out for Kane the next (at possibly 13 mill)? Also, I've got 0.4 ITB so it'll be close.

DGW thoughts, I already have Kane + Ogbonna and I will get Eriksen in for Hazard. In addition to that transfer which option is better?

            A) Son, no hits (Richarlison out)
            B) Lloris + Arnautovic -4 (Foster & Richarlison out)

            Thanks!

            DDG
            Otamendi-Jones-Christensen-Daniels
            Hazard-Salah-Sterling-Pogba-Richarlison
            DCL

            Elliot, Kane,Quaner,MBemba

1FT, 0,9 iTB. I seriously need to get Alonso in ML rival is killing me with him, I have tried to get him in the last weeks, but I went for Pogba instead which was a bad move.

Willing to take a hit to get him in, I'm thinking Hazard will go anyway after this gmw, wait a week or take a hit now to downgrade Hazard or Pogba to Alonso?

Cheers. So annoying to watch Pogba playing so deep

Something has to change for MU so wouldn’t be surprised to see Pogba playing higher next game with maybe kaku benched for ibra and mata out for Herrera pushing Pogba forward

Anyone considering hazard captain next GW ?
Should be playing at least 70 with this game sandwiched between two full 4 days rests and bonus could be key vs Salah who might be rested (2 days rest) and struggles with BPS.

M going with Morata.. Much greater goal threat.. Dumped Hazard aa Coutinho was killing me in the league with his double digit hauls.. Vice on Salah..

I'm captaining him, even though I expect Salah to start again, Leicester are a tougher fixture than Stoke at home, plus Hazard is "due". Tranfering him out after Stoke though whatever happens

            This GW: Daniels->Ogbonna
            GW 22: De Bruyne & Loftus-Cheek -> Eriksen & Lanzini

Good moves for the DGW? Already own Kane.
