The Big Numbers – Gameweek 14

Gareth Bale and Robin Van Persie top our ICT Index rankings for the midweek matches, with the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Adel Taarabt also flourishing to catch the eye. They all come under focus in the Big Numbers analysis, as we provide our members with a few of the key stats from Gameweek 14…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

According to football365 Moyes had this to say about Baines injury (post match last night I assume):

"Leighton's got a hamstring injury. He felt it in the game and played on in the last 10 or 15 minutes," said the Scot.

Surely a significant hamstring injury wouldn't have allowed him to play on for another 15 minutes? I'm holding tight on shipping him out.

I don't know about that. Hamstring injuries are pretty hard to ignore, if it was a twinge then he'll be fine imo. If it did go properly even after the game then I'm sure Moyes would have been aware.

I'm no Facer though, I deal only in conjecture and unfounded opinion 😉

This, holding on for now. By my logic, if he missed the City game, no big deal. After that the fixtures get better.

Players are usually in denial when there hamstring goes. I have torn mine a few times in the past but you keep playing and ultimately worsen the injury. A grade 3 tear and you won't be able walk so it's not that but no doubt it will jeopardise him playing this week.

I'm waiting for confirmation he's actually out for the City game first. If he is, we're looking at Baines (blank, TOT, sto) vs Enrique (SOT, whu, AVL)

still pondering on this matter as well atm i have Bego on the goal and Cameron on the bench might just change Bego to Jaask but will leave Cameron on the bench... WBA are much more likely to score at home versus Stoke than Chelsea away to WHU imo

Last REPOST (sorry - was last comment on previous article, and then last comment on previous page)

    Cerny – Begovic
    Enrique – Nastasic – Sagna – Davies – Gorkss
    Fellaini – Sterling – Walcott – Silva – Bale
Van Persie – Suarez – Berbatov

    0.3m in bank

I feel the need to get Michu back but no idea who to get him in for. Dropping Fellaini doesn’t sound sane. Drop Walcott to avoid his injury risk?

It's been jerking in his direction for a few weeks now and I'm starting to really regret dropping him. Thought I was a genius for getting him GW1 and dropping just before a little drought. But the drought looks to be over.

Thanks fella. It has been a deliberate strategy to build value for the second half of the season. Time will tell if my big fat warchest will buy back those 40 points. I'm starting to suspect that it won't but in any case the point hits are over now.

Afternoon all. I forgot to make any changes this week and ironically had my best GW in ages and now have 2 FT. It's strange as I seem to alternate each week between a decent score and a pathetic score with essentially the same team.

    Here's the current team:

    Jussi, Bego
    Riise, Caulker, Cuellar, Merte, Gorkss
    Mata, Santi, Michu, Fellaini, Sterling
    Tevez, RVP, Berba

    Am thinking of:
    1. Mata + Santi -----> Walcott + Bale
    2. Mata + Tevez ----> Bale + Giroud or Fletcher
    4. Mata + Tevez + Caulker ----> Bale + Giroud or Fletcher + Nasta (4ph)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

defence is fine, definitely don't need to be making DF transfers esp not for a hit

Now you've got yourself the two I recommend trying to save them for stormier weather, esp with the festive period coming up. If you can just do Mata > Bale that's ideal.

i brought Suarez in weeks ago for the two 'easy' home games and watched him do nothing (except dive). Of course I sold him only for him to score again and again. Same for Berba and RVP for that matter as bought them and watched them both dry up (except for RVP last night).

If I bring him back what's the chance he'll get a yellow and not score?

A’noon all, (sorry, lost on last post)

    Current Tm

    Mig (Bego)
Baines – Cueller – Nelsen (Demel – Gorkss)
Bale – Silva – Fellaini – Mata (Noble)
    RVP – Berba – Ba

0.1m in bank, 0 FT (got migs in already to avoid price rise)

Going with the Baines / Mata exodus I’m thinking options are for GW 15:

A – Ba to Suarez, Mata to Nolan (8 pt hit)

B – Mata to Nolan (4pts), then Ba to Suarez GW 16

C – Baines to Enrique (4pt), then Mata to Walcott & Ba to Suarez Gw 16 (4pts)

D – Nothing. Wait and see if the mata-wagon is rolling too early and review next week

    Cheers, sorry for long post

And Wisdom right back. Could try Assaidi wide left or even give Downing his shot cos he at least has scored more than 1 goal in his last 5 years in PL. Watch this and tell me in all honest if Enrique looks like a confident man when he gets a chance in front of goal ? As a Reds supporter I hope he does class but I think there are better wide left options there.

I'm not sure if true but I've heard that Wenger will play a full strength team next week in the CL even though they've already qualified for the next stage.....any danger of Giroud missing on the weekend?

Guys, what do you think? Too many red arrows in recent weeks have led me to the point of destroying my team.

Rooney -> Benteke (Differential gamble, don’t want Long)
    Kacaniklic -> Bale

    Then after the DGW:
Fletcher -> Berbatov and play a risky 3-5-2 for the rest of the season.

    Sterling/Mata/Bale/Fellaini/Ramirez
    Giroud/RVP/Berb

    Mata ---> ??

Mata needs to go, the question though is for who? I don't want to get Walcott in as that would mean getting rid of Giroud and Silva's not really looked like the Silva of last season bar a couple of shaky assists vs Villa so who would you get in my place?

I would get Silva. Manchester City are one of the best attacking sides (if not the best) in the league and he will have his hands in a bunch of the goals.

Unless you need the money i would wait for the weekend. Mata likely to play and it will give you more time. Silva otherwise seems the best choice although no reason you can't double on Arsenal attack with upcoming fixtures.

Tevez posts a real problem. Difficult to understand why he was on the bench last night which makes it impossible to predict if he will start at the weekend. The difficulty is who to replace him with. My team is

    Jussi bego
    Ridgewell cuellar sagna clyne gorkks
    Bale cazorla Fellaini lallana sterling
    Tevez rvp Suarez

I have 2 free transfers and nothing in the bank. Was thinking tevez and gorkks to fletcher and Enrique. What do you think? Any alternative suggestions?

Got rid of Suarez when he was 9.6.

Now buying him back at 10.4 for a hit.

Come on Luis, I believe in you!

Pick two out of three: Enrique, Nastisic, Azpilicueta

Baines and Santon are on my gtfo list.
Already have Sterling & Suarez. Would 3 LPool be overkill?

    Bego (wba)
Cameron (wba), Gibbs (SWA), Cuellar (nor)
Sterling (SOT) Silva (EVE) Hazard (wha) Sessegnon (nor)
Suarez (SOT) RVP (rdg) Berbs (TOT)

    Foster, Michu, Clyne, Davies

I've only got 1 FT and lots of players i want / want to get rid. Thinking about riding this gw out though, agree?

Need more opinions. Repost #2, 😀

Might sound a bit odd, but this is what I’ve some up with:
Baines to Enrique for free this week.
Then I’m going to assess Mata under Rafa to have a wider sample of stats available under Rafa, if he doesn’t look as good as he was under RDM, he’s facing the axe for Fellatio, and I can get Baines back too, though I’d lose 0.3 on him. All this would be for free, but is price sensitive too. Thoughts?

Sensible. Mata gets one more week for me too, before I sell for Walcott.
