Having opened the season with a double in the Community Shield win over Wigan, Robin Van Persie’s brace in the Gameweek 1 win at Swansea suggested we were in for yet another year of consistent goalscoring. What has followed, however, has been highly unexpected and as United struggle to settle under David Moyes, the Dutchman has a single converted spot-kick to his name in the last six Gameweeks.

A hat-trick for Holland against Hungary last week saw Van Persie become his nation’s all-time top goalscorer and suggested his eye for goal was as keen as ever – with this in mind, we delve into the data to assess just what sort of impact Moyes’ arrival has made on the Fantasy heavyweight.

      Now think of Baines playing for Chelsea, would he be able to pull out those defensive blocks and clearances? Like the one against Barcelona two years back? And the defensive performance against Bayern Munich in the finals? I highly doubt it.

        I do think that Baines has moved to another level in the last couple of seasons and I actually think it would a really exciting left side. They'd overlap all day long and there's enough defence between them to face most teams.

        Not sure I ever had massive love for him. He's firmly behind Cole and Baines in the pecking order and I like my wide men to be able to cross the ball and there aren't many better than Baines at the moment.

        Like I said, who else have we got? Ashley Young? I'd have Baines over him all day long. The more I think about it the more I like the idea. Cole and Baines on the left; Walker (or an upgrade) and Townsend on the left. Tasty.

      Spurs fan here. This season he has tried to shoot on sight, not varying his play enough. Hopefully this England spell will help him vary his game a bit. He has looked great these last two games.

      Good lack AVB handling thE Lamela situation. We might see Lamela have a go on the left side (not his preferred wing, with Eriksen behind Soldado.
