Having opened the season with a double in the Community Shield win over Wigan, Robin Van Persie’s brace in the Gameweek 1 win at Swansea suggested we were in for yet another year of consistent goalscoring. What has followed, however, has been highly unexpected and as United struggle to settle under David Moyes, the Dutchman has a single converted spot-kick to his name in the last six Gameweeks.
A hat-trick for Holland against Hungary last week saw Van Persie become his nation’s all-time top goalscorer and suggested his eye for goal was as keen as ever – with this in mind, we delve into the data to assess just what sort of impact Moyes’ arrival has made on the Fantasy heavyweight.

On the 'winning goal BP'
Dilks said
Wow... So you're saying that the first goal didn't decide an outcome to the end of the match?? Oh wow oh wow. I give up.
Funny how words get twisted, but frankly I expect nothing less. We're not dealing with the subjcetive here. All this "But without the first goal the winning team would not have won" stuff
is just silly IMO
A team wins 2-0, 2 different players score. Who gets the winning goal BP? Answer, guy who scored the first. Why, because if the guy who scored the 2nd didn't score, the winning team would still have won, therefore the first goal was the winning goal. I think we can agree on that.
But what if a team wins 2-1 and they were 2-0 up. This seems to be where the confusion lies. Why should the 2nd guy get the winning goal BP. not the first guy. Simple, it was the 2nd goal that ensured the team won, without it, it would be 1-1. But what's this I hear you say, without that first goal the winning team would still not have won, and that was the goal that put them in front and therefore decided the outcome and if that fist goal hasn't been scored the it still would have been 1-1. All true, but if it's 1-1 there is no winning goal, it's the 2nd goal that ensured that the winning team was the winning team, therefore scorer of said 2nd goal scored the 'winning goal'. Simply put, the goal that ensured the winning team scored 1 goal more than the losing team is the winning goal. If a team wins 3 or 4-1 it's still the 2nd goal for the reasons shown in the first example. If it was 4-2 guy who scored the 3rd goal gets it.
