Introducing The ICT Scout Index

Yesterday we launched the ICT Scout Index for our Members. This is immediately viewable via the dashboard on login, with top 10’s displayable for both the current Gameweek and the season as a whole. Obviously, right now, this is based on last season’s data.

Read on for more details on what the ICT Index brings to our Members’ offering…

What is the ICT Scout Index?

Basically this is a football index created specifically to assess a player in Fantasy terms. It uses the statistical data already available to Members to create a single score for three key areas – Influence, Creativity and Threat. These scores then combine to create a single ICT Scout Index score.

In basic terms the ICT index will help to make our statistics easier to digest. The individual index scores help to measure a player’s importance to their team and to a match (Influence), a player’s likelihood to earn assists (Creativity) and to score goals, or at least get in goalscoring situations (Threat).

Index scores will be generated on a gameweek basis and cumulatively over the season for all players. All the usual statistics are available, but Members now have an easy route to identify how players are performing across the key statistics – they can go straight in now and start analysing players based on last season’s data.

The index, like any football index, will require tweaking as we go. Even so, we feel that it’s a valuable addition for our Members and offers us plenty of material to discuss in a series of new weekly Members articles.

How Can I View the ICT Scout Index?

In addition to the Top 10 standings on the Members dashboard, the full index is available within the Fantasy Index tab for Player Stats. You can view the index by position or for all players.

By default this offers a cumulative view of the Index totals – however, Members can also slice the data by a given gameweek or a range of gameweeks and view average Index scores per appearance using the Advance Filter Options.

The Player Profiles (available by clicking on any player), also offer a complete Gameweek by Gameweek breakdown of a players’ Index score. Using this, you can analyse trends and assess how a player is developing in terms of Fantasy potential as the season progresses.

We will of course, use such breakdowns in our regular articles to help you identify those players in form according to their ICT Scout Index scores.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It's quite risky getting too many players from one team at the start of the season, as nobody knows how teams will perform.

The amazing plan of having Bent, N'Zogbia, Moses and Rodagella could go tits up if both teams start poorly.

That is strikingly similar to my own team, only around 3 players off, so i cant offer that much criticism.

Although, no united coverage is a risky strategy. If i was you, i’d swap lamps for nani/young, and use the extra 2 mil so upgrade Holt to Zamora.

And i went for Ramsey as opposed to Sess, but the jury’s still out in both those players i suppose so we can but wait and see.

      Great midfield.

2 cheapie centre-forwards means some work to get in the likes of Drogba, Rooney or RVP when fixtures/form dictate.

Ramsey, when placed in an attacking midfield role thrived during pre season. He's in my team for sure

    Evening all.

Help needed! A friend of mine is on FPL and no matter what he does he always gets an outfield player in has sub GK position. We can't find any contact for FPL for problems. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to contact the game admin to report problems?

    Thanks.

Interesting fact: Had the league begun in 2011, Liverpool would have came 2nd in the league.

Who would you rather have in your team for g.wk.1: A. Cole, Malouda or Drogba?

I did have all of them, but swapped malouda for young to spread the risk a bit. Not that Chelsea are a big right, but you never know they could have an off day.

    Anyone got an opinion on

    Given (Moreira)
Kompany Enrique Alex (Gabbidon) (De Laet)
    Malouda N'Zog Duff Moses Silva
    Carroll Rooney (Ranger)

I think it's decent, terrible subs I know but I'm not planning on using them much haha. Any comments welcomed 😀 Cheers

      is duff better than murphy?
will Enrique walk straight into first 11?
if the answer is yes to both then you have a good team 🙂

        1) Yes
        2) Prob not, I might look at others for GW 1, after that, yes.

        Cheers.

Swansea have signed the former Utrecht keeper, Michael Vorm - he will be Swans' first choice keeper I reckon. So you need to bin Moreira.

Enrique won't play for the Pool this weekend but will probably be the most transferred-in player by gw 3. Alex's place is not secure for when it matters.

Rest looks decent. Duff would be the only one that doesn't immediately appeal.
