Semi Finals – Day One – Dugout Discussion

After a brief three-day hiatus from the Euro 2012 action, we’re raring to go once again as Spain take on Portugal this evening in the first semi-final of the tournament. With only three games left of the competition, there are big decisions to be made by Fantasy managers looking to get that vital edge in their mini-leagues. As always, we’ve opened up the Dugout Discussion ahead of kick-off:

The team news is in and is as follows:

Vicente Del Bosque makes one alteration to Spain’s lineup from the side that saw off France 2-0 in the previous round. It’s a move that will surprise many, with Alvaro Negredo handed the chance to lead the line, as Cesc Fabregas joins Fernando Torres on the bench. Portugal also make a single change but it’s one that had been anticipated. With Helder Postiga due to a hamstring injury, Hugo Almeida is given the lone forward role.

Spain XI: Casillas; Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Alonso, Xavi; Silva, Negredo, Iniesta

Portugal XI: Patricio: Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves, CoentrAo; Veloso, Meireles, Moutinho; Nani, Almeida, Ronaldo

          pretty much. I hedged my bets as I felt Portugal could win,, hence why I only had Alba and Pepe.

          Still that is the way things go sometimes. All the best for the final mate, if I cna;t win it, let it be the guy who beats me. See what happens when you don't have Mull dragging you down.

        Well I have 4 Germans 4 Spanish, and 4 Italians. Patricio and Moutinho were my only Portugese.
        Basically ill have 11 for the final, maybe even a sub!

    Negredo is not getting anywhere near the Spanish team in the final, Negredo to Oliveira looks like a good idea tonight.

    Or maybe just Ronaldo to Oliveira would be easier

      That's what I did. Frees up some serious cash. Captain Hindsight says I should have just transferred him in for the SF and boosted elsewhere, but oh well.

    I have to say jordi alba is the best all round left back I have seen for many years.

    Tackling is spot on, pace electric, and his energy deep in extra time was unbelievable.
