FPL Gameweek 6 Update

As many of you will have seen this morning, some of the bonus points from last weekend’s games have been altered in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. The reason for this was that the Press Association tracking data crashed in the second half in the middle of Saturday’s games – as a result, that they have had to re-watch all of the matches that took place that day and subsequently adjust any affected fixtures.

Going on the spreadsheet I have in front of me, it appears the following games will be altered:

Fulham v Man City
John Arne Riise will now get the maximum bonus. Carlos Tevez keeps his two and David Silva receives one. Previously, Silva had three and Gael Clichy picked up one but Riise has now been attributed with 5 blocks, raising his PPI score significantly.

Stoke v Swansea
The only change here is that Jon Walters and Charlie Adam now pick up a single bonus point apiece instead of Asmir Begovic. Initially, Begovic had received bonus despite making just two saves – this has been rectified.

Sunderland v Wigan
James McClean no longer has bonus points in this one. Previously, the winger had been awarded two – this now goes to Stephane Sessegnon, who had received a single BP beforehand. As a result, Adam Johnson now gets the single bonus point.

The correct data was only forwarded to FPL this morning but the recalculations are now underway and we can hopefully expect autosubs to be sorted soon.

Just a heads-up, folks….

Tempted to double up on southampton i already have lambert thinking ramirez as well.

they look full of goals at home so i would play both at home and bench 1 away.

Ramirez would replace Mclean in my team.

    good idea or bad ????

Toughts on cazorla vs gervinho please.

Plan is/was gw8 hazard => cazorla, but but but...

    a) cazorla means I'm very tight on cash after doing michu => barfa gw9, so tevez could be only downgraded gw10 or so

    b) gervinho then again means I could do tevez => aguero in gw10 or even decide to keep michu and do guthrie => ben arta gw10

I'm temped to go for gervinho, but if I do that, I'm sure wenger starts to give walcott some chances as a striker.

I've gone gerv for now as he allows me to bring in bale for michu in a couple of weeks (got enough money saved even for bale's potential rise)

but true... caz is 100% nailed on. gerv aint

Friends, I am on my WC.

Which are three best attackers to have? Except RvP and Tevez.

I have Ba, Aguero and Lambert. Are maybe Berbatov, Fletcher, Suarez worth bringing?

    Thanks.

They're all good options except Fletch, IMO. He's been converting chances at an absurd rate that cannot continue and unless Sunderland can start creating a lot more chances, his goals will surely dry up a little.

Aguero is an obvious one. I like Fletcher and maybe Ba. Lambert is a good prospect but might be better covered by Ramirez in midfield. I can see the logic behind Suarez (little competition, lots of chances) but I remain unconvinced at his price. Jelavic is little to expensive.

Torres is probably better covered by Hazard or Mata - Carroll is worth keeping tabs on.

All in all - I would (and have) gone for Fletcher.

He will probably play this weekend after having a rest midweek.

If you add up his GW 5 & 6 stats, he's played 92 minutes, had 3 shots (hitting the target once) and has created 2 chances.

If you compare that to GW1-4, he's created more chances and had more shots per 90 mins.

Not saying he will explode but he's certainly worth holding for a home game.

Reason Taarabt didn't start. As far as I'm aware Taarabt didn't remove his shirt, yet got booked. Same happened last year when he put someone's hat on his head. Dumb rule's, a guy is entitled to celebrate after scoring. The FA need to focus on more pressing issues.

Yeah, the celebrations have been watered down in recent years, which is a bit rubbish, love a good celebration. Reminds me of Bendtner's product placement celebration in the Euro's where he got a bigger fine than some players using racially abusive language.

Afternoon all, Think im going to save a FT this week for some better manoeuvring next gw, in less you can convince me otherwise...

    Foster
    Demel, Davies, Baines
    Hazard (c) Morrison, Santi, Michu
    Lambert, Rvp (vc) , Tevez

    Bench: Bego, Pienaar, Saylor, Gorkss

Feels like it should be a good week, but im sure the fantasy gods will have decided otherwise by the end of the weekend.

I would still play Pienaar over Morrison... Have you seen the way everton have been playing? Everton generally score more then WBA do... Wba generally score only 1 goal and then keep it tight for the win and Everton score 2+... even away. So gives you more chance of points with Pienaar, as well as this Everton are more on form in my opinion and have a good fixture even if it is away.

I had a few confused people asking me I felt it was good news for us Tevez owners that he didn't come on last night. I guess I expect everyone to have a bit of common sense and so didn't need to explain it 🙂

Some may disagree, but I'd say he stands a much better chance of starting at the weekend now, as opposed to had he started or played significant minutes last night.

The question is... to Captain ahead of RVP or not!

Mind made up at last. Tevez stays, Boyce stays for now, Hoilett > Sterling to avoid wasting the transfer and leave more money to play with in the break. Still benching Sterling for HBA this week though.

Who would you play out of these def

    A Rafael
    B Demel
    C Clyne

Have Barfa in midfield so was thinking if Newcastle score there's Rafael Cs gone but on the other hand he could bag a goal himself ??? Help appreciated

yeah if you're playing Rafa it's the goal threat you want this weekend. Definitely has more potential than the others. Wouldn't consider Demel, Clyne maybe but their defence is just awful...I'd go with Rafa personally.

    Facts:

    1. Mike Dean, referee, when Blackburn beat Manchester United 3-2 and hasn't refereed a Manchester United game since.
    2. Mike Dean - referee, in 2010, after Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea, was demoted to the Championship.
    3. Alan Wiley, called "fat and unfit" by Alex after Manchester United's draw with Sunderland," agreed to retire" that season, he was also the ref on OT when the mancs lost 1-4 to Liverpool.
    4. Mark Clattenburg refereed Manchester United's 6-1 defeat to Manchester City, hasn't refereed a single Manchester United game after that Manchester derby. (has acted as 4th official in 3)
    5. Martin Atkinson -Involved in Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea, criticized by Alex, hasn't refereed Manchester United game since.
    6. Ex referee Jeff Winter openly stating that he hadn't been given a Manchester United game for 2 years after sending Roy Keane off.
    7. Howard Webb has been Manchester United's most used referee since the defeat to Manchester City.
    8. More than 18% of the penalties Webb has awarded in his 8 year career have been to Manchester United.
    9. Manchester United's CEO is on the board of The FA.
    10. Alex Ferguson not happy with Chris Foy, Foy referees a League Two game. something he hasn't done since the 2001-02 season..

One fine day, this league will run out of refs.

Only relevant if you took another club and compared it. Are refs that give red cards less likely to ref that club again in the near future? Yes I would imagine so.
How often does a ref take charge of a game of a club on average?
Webb is one of the best refs in the game and will be given high profile games, hence the united games.
United have a lot of tricky wingers that get into the box and counter attack at speed and are more likely to be involved in penalty decisions.
Dean was awful, Wiley was far and unfit.
