The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Four – Resumption

Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

Normal service is resumed via this link or you can pour this straight into your ears via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Am on WC and don't need/want anyone to RMT.. I know it's quality. Am however flip-flopping between :

    A. Walcott/Lamps
    or
    B. Mata/Fellaini.

If I go with B I will likely trade out Mata for Walcott next wk. The kicker is I will have lost 0.2 on trading out Walcott in the first place. Does anyone see either duo outweighing the other?

I like A. Not because of value but I have a hunch Lampard will get the minutes vs Sot whereas Mata will be taken off as soon as Chelsea get a couple of goals up.
      Just an opinion.

Hello. I've just logged on. A quick message for you all.

I hope all your WCs fail miserably. I pray for a hamstring strain for Mata after 7 minutes of the first match. I hope that Ba gets sent off for two yellow cards for diving (with both being refereeing mistakes).

    😉

I've resisted playing my WC and I can't even remember the reason why, anymore 🙁

I hate this DGW. It's like some deformed spawn created by FIFA to torture us FPL managers. All to accommodate FC Mexico Town under 13s getting a game versus the mighty Chelsea.

I don't frikkin care if Luiz or Cahill or Aztec-camera-pilcueta gets two games or one. Peter Cech can go break his other abductor muscle for all I care. If Adkins decided that the tea lady was a better option in goal than the three muppets he's tried so far, I still wouldn't give a shite.
And finally to all you smart arses that got yourself 4 (yes FOUR) Chelsea players..........I hope your your children's pet hamster crawls into your clothes dryer and snuggles up for a snooze and your missus is up before you tomoro morning and switches that fccker on.

😆 😆 True story, this is actually how I'm feeling!

As an ex-Lambert owner, why has he become a DGW bandwagon?

He's decent value for 6m. What that usually means is that he will score you the odd goal when you bench him.

I had him for a good 10 weeks and he fired blanks most of the time. Then Ramirez, Lallana and Puncheon managed to play in the same lineup for once and he had a few decent (not spectacular) seeks. Lallana is injured for a while, Ramirez is doubtful.

I guess as a week 1 punt it's hard to say it's an awful transfer, but considering the cost of a transfer in and out, and competition from berba this week at home to WIGAN - not too attractive.

Got a couple of decent results without Lallana. He's on form. Ramirez is in. 15 pts against (admittedly a weakened) Stoke.

    Jussi Bego

    Luioz Gibbs Clyne Demil Cuellar

    Mata Michu Bale Fellani Walcott

    Ba Pog Van Persie

    What about this

Decided that pog at 4.3 is a decent benchwarmer , much better than any of the mids at a similar price , then can play the 5 mids every week
Pog being so cheap also means ii have some spare cash left over

Interesting different approach. My only concern would be that the hit you take when he has to come off the bench as a reserve or when a bargain defender comes off the bench may be more of a hit than you take when a benched fifth mid comes off. Having Puncheon or Maloney or Snodgrass can save a person when RafaRotation and ManciniMadness take place at the same time. Ba, RVP and Mata all susceptible to mystery benchings that could take you by surprise.

If 3-5-2 is what tickles your fancy, then this looks very nice. Your tip-top team value allows a strong GK/ DEF too.
      It's not my cup-of-tea but it's about the best I've seen for a 3-5-2.

Pointless getting in defs and Ba's gametime starts rules him out. Plus I don't want to dismantle my front 3 for one gameweek.

What about Chelsea's defense and it's backup keeper is making everybody so confident about a couple of clean sheets that they are looking to captain a defender? Just not really seeing it. Stoke rarely gets shut out at home (2 in 10). Southampton rarely gets shut out anywhere. (4 in 20)

Since I'm awake, I will make use of the immense knowledge of the DZers, if I may 🙂

My team for the DGW right now is:

    Bego (McCarthy)

Gibbs, Clyne, Cuellar, Shorey, O'Brien (Whichever 3 play)

Mata (c), Hazard (vc), Bale, Michu, Walcott

    RVP, Berbs (C. Cole)

Firstly, I know my defence is awful. But never take a hit for a defender, right? I do have 0.4 to spare. Was considering McC to Turnbull, but it'd be for a hit and who knows it he'll play both games.

Don't get Turnbull. You'll waste a transfer on him later. Gibbs and Clyne should play. The other 3 are either dropped or injured. But I reckon Cuellar will play. Don't take a hit either way. Better to go with 10 than ship one for -4 pts, he probably won't 4 points and you'll be transferring him later.

Exactly, I wouldn't take a hit for a defender. And Turnbull needs to get 8+ points before I start to regret not taking a hit on home, and he might only play the Stoke game.

I'm just hoping that Shorey gets a start, or at least some game time, since he was apparently suffering from a virus, rather than being dropped.

I am WCing after the ARS DGW, yeah. Going Haz > Caz next week for triple Arsenal.

You've got two reasonably reliable CHS options for the dgw-leave it there. Have you already made a transfer?

Yeah, already done my transfers. I'm not confident on anyone from the Chelsea DEF and GK, anyone could get a rest with Terry back. I even have a suspicion that Bertrand might get some game time v S'oton.

I'll see what's going on with the fitness of my defenders next week and then change it around if I need to.

Let's hope Hazard does the business.
