Moving Target

Moving Target – Danny Graham

Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Ok!!!!!

    How does this look??

    Mignolet (Davies)
    Zabaleta baines vertonghen (Chester,turner)
    Nolan snodgrass bale sessegnon (Morrison)
    Girond sturridge lambert

Think I've got some good balance here with a lot of Oop players who do a lot for their team. Pens/ set pieces etc. a lot of bonus potential here also.

Some decent players there. I'd say downgrade Mignolet and get too keepers that rotate well. Too much spent on defence when there's decent 4.5 - 5.5 alternatives to let you upgrade midfield.

would Negredo be an advisable pick? I've got RVP and RVW as of now, just wondering i'f it'd be worth getting Negredo and downgrading someone like Mirallas or G. Johnson

I have difficulty separating my love for him as a player and his shortcomings as a fantasy option. But he's an elite assist man, the new bonus may help him, and 6-10 goals wouldn't be out of the question I don't think.

Negredo looks like an out-and-out goalscorer, plus he'll be the new manager's preferred choice (hopefully) as he's his "marquee" signing.

Some will to get RVP and a superstar midfield. Graham will get a few, Gayle the unknown quantity at this level. His goal precentage seems to drop at each rise in level. Risky strategy when RVP has less than ideal opening fixtures.

Not enough money to go around unfortunately 🙁

        Could do:

        Coleman/Toure/£4m to Turner/Yanga-Mbiwa/Foster

BUT I'd still want to play Boruc most weeks, even if it is away. I'd also miss Coleman's attacking runs and Toure racking up CS and BAPS as the CB.

Feel more comfortable having Boruc on his own and a stronger defence. Yeah I'm not a fan of the rotating mids either man but I don't know what to do without compromising the rest of my team.

What do you all think of this team based on three kinda unlikely conditions a) Rooney goes to Chelsea b) Chelsea has a double gameweek week 1 c) There are no other major signings between now and the start of the season?

    Mannone (Boruc)

    Cole-Azpilcueta-MTurner (Chester-Parr)

    Bale-Hazard-Morrison-Jarvis (Koren)

    Rooney-Sturridge-Giroud

Pretty bad. If it was a Chelsea DGW I'd get Hazard+Mata+Defender+Rooney and WC GW2. Would be totally worth it.

Hmm, Mata's a thought, I don't really like the idea of committing to the wildcard so early though, and I feel like there's a little more balance with an extra defender. Plus Hull/Villa at home look decent bets for clean sheets.

I would usually agree but since Villa still have Benteke I think you're in for a nasty surprise in that game!

I haven't even been thinking of going without RVP or Bale but now that I've taken RVP out.. it's the happiest I've been with my team. Thoughts?

    Foster, Boruc

    Collins, Toure, Coleman, Parr, Chester

    Bale, Hazard, Walcott, Nolan, Thomas

    Aguero, Sturridge, Anelka

      Balanced? Yes.

      Squad Depth? Weak.

My problem is that your rotation is going to HURT. Trust me, I've been tinkering with all those defenders apart from Parr all day and it isn't pretty. Upgrade Parr to Shaw for the tough times ahead imo.

Nolan is literally nothing without Carroll. I am a huge fan of Nolan and couldn't wait to have him but without Andy in the first few games he'll disappear. The stats completely agree there.

Unless they have a DGW, Haz really isn't worth it. He's a flat track bully with United + Blank in first 3 GW.

Thomas AND Anelka? That's a really horrible combo mate since you're going to be forced to play one of these each week. Imo upgrade Thomas to Tonev/Kaca/Brunt & Anelka to Ruiz/Kaca if possible.

I do think you have a solid foundation so I'd give a 6.5/10.

I'd like it a little better if you could squeeze 1/2 million for JRod instead of Anelka. I like the punt on Nolan, but he seems like the most likely candidate for a downgrade to fund it.

I do loves me a bit of attacking 7 double-ups.
    Sturridge/ Aspas and
    Walcott/ Cazorla
are currently sitting in there. No better feeling in FPL than a winning goal with the scorer and assister in your team.

Depends on my rivals. I f they do better than i expect, i could end up below 5, or may even have to settle for top 100.

Team with RVP, Bale and Negredo assuming it looks like he will start initially

    Mignolet / 4.0
    Collins / M.Turner / Parr / Chester / B.Turner
    Bale / Walcott / BenArfa / Ramirez / Thomas
    RVP / Negredo / Kone

That is one hell of an uber cheap defence.
Could still work out nicely if u pick the right defenders each week.
      Great midfield and strike force.

Yeah in all my drafts (even without RVP) I've just liked the look of my team with a poor defence, may come back to bite me but last season I started with Rafa Zabaleta and some midpriced GK and it stung me.

        Defo acknowledge its budget though!

Yeah I'm not settled on the exact players but I like the way the £ is distributed, other 7.0's Ive considered are Van Wolfswinkel / Aspas but they are of course new to the league. Kone had a real good season for Wigan so I feel like he can replicate it.

But yeah could even downgrade the 7.0 forward to Jay.Rod and then mess about with the midfield

I've looked at something like that, but I would 'downgrade' Kone to JRod to upgrade to a playing sub GK and maybe upgrade a defender.

Yeah good point mate the defence is real budget, if I did that I'd prob just use the mil on defence, I'm content playing Mignolet week in week out
