Sky Sports Analysis – Goalkeeper Bonus Save Points

As mentioned in a previous article, there’s been a handful of new rules introduced to the Sky Sports Fantasy game this season. One of the most welcome additions is the move to reward goalkeepers with bonus points – stoppers will now receive two extra points if they make five or more saves in a match, thus boosting their appeal and forcing us to reassess their worth in the season ahead.

The Sky Sports table for Goalkeepers in the Members Area now includes the bonus points from saves that would have been accrued for the past two seasons. In this evening’s article for Members, we’ve analysed these numbers in full, assessing the impact the new bonus system is likely to have on our Sky Sports selections.

  I don't like Paulinho /Thomas. I don't like the idea of havng a 4.0m sub keeper - 4.5 needed to be any good. Baker won't play imo. And why do you need 5.5m in the bank. Get upgrading!

  imo forget this bank nonsense, either go RVP or dont go RVP. cause if RVP does bad/ gets injured, you have 5.5 mill in the bank for no reason. dont think baker will play regularly and personall i would go sessegnon before paulinho

    Dzeko is a fine early pick. Pello likes him and Aguero hasn't featured at all in pre-season due to some chronic fatigue issue. Dzeko is the top striker there.

    Mourinho has been making a lot of positive comments on Torres, I think he'll start the main man, but I have a feeling Lukaku will end the season as a big player for them (and for Mourinho, very Drogba-like...)

  This season will be more defensive imo, but we'll have to shift our teams as we find out who gets the cleansheets. For now I'm more than happy to invest my money in attacking players. As everyone else has stated, that's where the majority of the points are.
  
  Defense made the difference for some gameweeks in my first season, but I haven't lost a friends mini league in my 3 years of playing. You just need like 2 defenders from the big teams and then decent cheapies that you can rotate.

FOR CORRIGAN if he's reading.

Do you really think I should just pick the best 7 attackers I can and stick with them every week, with one not so good players on the bench? I prefer the 8th player to be decent too.

Is this what people do nowadays and does it work? Other opinions welcome too please!

  Hello. Yes, a massive yes. Usually, I'm unsure on which side of the fence to sit on players etc., but when it comes to FPL, have a crack team of 7 attackers and one reliable autosub for 2/3 points (Quinn or Dobbie).

Koscielny/MTurner/Collins/Shaw + 4.0

With this defence I can afford RVP and a heavyweight midfield
