Sky Sports Analysis – Goalkeeper Bonus Save Points

As mentioned in a previous article, there’s been a handful of new rules introduced to the Sky Sports Fantasy game this season. One of the most welcome additions is the move to reward goalkeepers with bonus points – stoppers will now receive two extra points if they make five or more saves in a match, thus boosting their appeal and forcing us to reassess their worth in the season ahead.

The Sky Sports table for Goalkeepers in the Members Area now includes the bonus points from saves that would have been accrued for the past two seasons. In this evening’s article for Members, we’ve analysed these numbers in full, assessing the impact the new bonus system is likely to have on our Sky Sports selections.

Do a lot of people in here study maths or it or something?

I saw one bloke do the bonus points article and it must have taken him weeks.

What are the important skills when writing those sort of articles?

Even thought the reply box came up under your comment. It posted a new one. It was not my fault at all. This is a repost

I knew people who did engineering when I was at uni.

They were not smug or arrogant like the medical students who were all posh as well and medical students kept talking about how hard they worked but they were out every night

The engineers had as many lectures as them though they had more to cover in less time probably

But they never spoke to women that was funny one guy even went on a course and bought books to help him.

They were great at fixing things I like them

We don't fix things, we design things so that they don't break.

"Engineering is the application of scientific, economic, social, and practical knowledge in order to design, build, and maintain structures, machines, devices, systems, materials and processes."

          And women aren't a problem 😉

What do you reckon? Assuming Bale doesn't bail, that is. I know it's ultra risky but there are good rotations

    Speroni McGregor (rotation)
Gibbs M Turner Brayford [Clyne Collins] (rotation)
Bale Coutihno Snodgrass [Koren J Thomas] (rotation)
    RVP Lukaku Sturridge

I think Bale will leave but not ignoring him until he does. Selling Lukaku for Bony after DGW and Walcott/Santi Cazorla for Bale with an upgraded defence if/when he goes. I know Gibbs is riskier than Kos/Mer but he starts seasons well

The keepers are pretty ugly, and Sturridge/coutinho is too much stock in a potential mid table side, and Sturridge may not be fit. Plus you only have one risky Chelsea player with a nice double.. I like the budget defense and koren/thomas fine. but the sacrifices of this team remind me why I refuse to consider RVP.

Keepers are shocking, granted, but they rotate the entire season for 9.0 and may benefit under the new BPS due to high volume of saves.

Point taken on Liverpool, just the romantic Pool fan in me, plus they link up well. If Sturridge isn't fit, I'll look to Bony first perhaps, prefer having Coutihno.

Just not sure with Chelsea since blank in 3 and can't quite grasp how Jose is going to field but I know what you mean. Just Lukaku's current form, may be given the chance for the DGW and could outscore the ret if he is.

But I see your point, could have Caz and Bony or other combinations for Sturridge and Coutihno and Mata did so well for me last season, definitely hard leaving him out

It's not ideal mate. I have bale, RVP, turner, Collins and lukaku but have also got Cech, a Liverpool and Everton defender, hazard, and only one dodgy midfielder. Seems like my money has stretched a bit further.

You've got a Liverpool/Everton (both nailed?) as opposed to my Arsenal/(West Ham/Sot rotation), not faring too bad considering Clean Sheets are tough to spot early on in the season.

In Midfield, Snodgrass is under priced and I don't mind the Thomas/Koren rotation at all, negates a serious part of their dodgy-ness

    Hows this:

    Migs, Marshall
    Toure, Collins, Mert, Coleman, Brayford
    Walcott, Hazard, Mirallas, Nolan, Koren
    RVP, Lukaku, Anelka

    0.0 in the bank.

Rotating Anelka and Koren, and Collins and Coleman.
Lukaku goes GW2, maybe to dzeko.

Sry, but I have to ask - just out of sheer curiosity... You guys here are responding to others RMT's with:

an A attitude) Damn. That's a quite good team. Might post some bullsh.. about lack of match fitness of this or that player - maybe he/she will ditch him and get less points comes gw1. After all, we're all here for the 1st place.

I am getting a bit RMT'd out now. Nearly every team has converged to a variation of the same players, so what can I say? Looks good...like every other team!

If anyone suggests players not in this template, people will say "Change *non-template player X* to *template player Y at the same price point*"

So, two weeks on, I'm sure like you, I have considered a MULTITUDE of possible teams!

For me, all those teams are influenced by only 2 factors.

Will Bale stay and is RVP worth the spend. Everything else pivots on this....

Actually, there are 3 factors, as the RVP and Bale questions influence each other.... 🙂

    OK BRAYFORD LOOKS NAILED ON

just done a bit of research and the last pre season game they won 1-0 and this was the team

Cardiff City: Marshall, Brayford, John, Kim, Hudson (capt; Caulker 60), Turner, Whittingham, Cowie (Gestede 70), Campbell (Ralls 77), Smith (Taylor 71), Noone. Subs: Richards.

Brayford played full 90 min unless other rb nailed on i think brayford a very good choice i can see cardiff keeping quiet a few cleansheets this year

Also why don't engineers get engineer before their names like doctors get dr and even dentists

I remember asking about you a long time ago

I remember you because I watched smurfs when I was little. You came on here a lot before.

You are talking about rob. He is married he would never have a girlfriend. We do not speak any more I pushed him in a bar once and we had a few arguments. I confronted him as I think he was making up stories when he was called mr even when he was supposed to be was a doctor. It sounded like he had been kicked out of the job and lost his title and he tried to tell me some stupid story about surgery. I beat him easily last year in the end.

Engineering is an excellent career and there is a growing need for skilled engineers in the UK. However you are right, engineers are far more respected in other countries than over here. The general public's perception in the UK of an engineer is the guy who fixes your boiler or does your MOT test. The pay on average is also better in other countries than over here.

I would definitely recommend it. Hoping to go into work in Formula One or a big car company, such as JLR.

I graduated in Civil Engineering and I'm also a Master of Engineering. No one really cares about Engineers in this country. Ask the average person about Brunel and they wouldn't have a clue who he is. There is always space on the University courses and they'll accept lower grades. It's tough study mind you. 30+ hours of lectures each week.

I ended up leaving the industry because
      a) there was a recession and no one was building. (It's always the same, a recession and the first thing to suffer is construction.)
      b) found a career that I found was more natural for me (computer programming)

Didier Drogba. Brace against the old customers 😆 Every team should just loan him just for the game against Ars 😛

He'd be awful tired from throwing himself down onto the ground each week.

surely a lineup with ivanovic cb, bertrand, essien, van ginkel, de bruyne and ba isn't the best indicator.

p.s nice goals in the emirates cup, you did well

Hey AP, I see talk about Terry needs to work out, Ivan is our RB, Luiz bla bla bla, he is good or ... Cahill nothing. Mind games. Murinjo doesn't praise the best ones. Just puts them there all the time.

I hope he gives as a clue like in the past with the untouchables ,

Ahh its good to be back!

What with Reading being relegated, my PL interest had wained, so please forgive me if this RMT has some glaring errors.

    Mignolet/Boruc
    Luiz, Olsson, Coleman, Brayford, Wilson
    Hazard, Walcott, Coutinho, Silva, Whittingham
    Lukaku, Jrod, Benteke

    0.0mill left.

I was thinking of Foster instead of Mignolet to free up 0.5mill. RVP is still tempting if I downgrade the midfield. Is Sissoko still a good bet this season guys ?
