Sky Sports Analysis – Goalkeeper Bonus Save Points

As mentioned in a previous article, there’s been a handful of new rules introduced to the Sky Sports Fantasy game this season. One of the most welcome additions is the move to reward goalkeepers with bonus points – stoppers will now receive two extra points if they make five or more saves in a match, thus boosting their appeal and forcing us to reassess their worth in the season ahead.

The Sky Sports table for Goalkeepers in the Members Area now includes the bonus points from saves that would have been accrued for the past two seasons. In this evening’s article for Members, we’ve analysed these numbers in full, assessing the impact the new bonus system is likely to have on our Sky Sports selections.

I fancy Aspas as pretty safe for the first 6 GW. He's adaptable so even with Studge regaining a starting berth on full fitness, he's likely to get game time at least 'til Suarez returns.

Of course, if they sign that hard bloke from athletico we might see his projected contributions drop.

B is very similar to my likely line up so it would be my preferred option.

That said, the RMT i produced with RVP in was like a steam train. It started with a lower GW1 projection but by GW6 it was already about 10 points ahead of my current line up.

It comes down to your faith in RVP delivering in tough fixtures, at the start of a season, with a new manager. If RVP kicks off the season on top form, A will demolish B by GW6.

            Helpful? 😉

      Where'd all your money go?

That's usually not a good sign. I'd downgrade your keepers (get a 4.5 to rotate with Boruc) Michu > Walcott.

Also, you may want to take less risky punts up front. One of Aspas and Jovetic if you really think they're the ones to get.

Not sure how this can be improved:

    Mig and Given

Shaw, Mertslacker, Luiz, Bayford, Norwich Turner.

    Walcott, Snodders, Nolan, Hazza, Colback

    Anelka, Benteks and RVP.

No Citeh but I'd rather assess them first. Obviously not happy with Anelka, Colback, Snodders but not sure there's anything better.

Is this as good as it gets?

Fair enough, shoot for the stars I say. I fancied your uber theory last season but now you have me thinking.

JRod has lot of upside and seems a proven player under the new manager. Can see Anelka taking a while to settle down.

Chester and Brayford rotate pretty well. Ultimate uber-pair from the Championship this year.

Koren's experience should help him a lot. Decent option at that price.

0 goals against both the Milan clubs. Mourinho's defences are very stingy, also you 'll struggle to find another nailed-on DGW attacker methinks.

Defence is fine although slightly expensive.
Snodgrass wasn't that great last year and I never once considered buying him. If Norwich play 2 up front he won't be as far up the pitch as he was last year.
Nolan is OK but he didn't do much in the 2nd half of last year until the last game.
Get rid of Colback immediately. Upgrade to Koren.
Don't like Benteke or Anelka and I think RVP should be bought when Uniteds fixtures get better because imo he isn't good value if you don't captain him most game weeks.

        Hi Mullers,

Agree about d - Luiz will be quickly downgraded to a uber in week 2-3.
No, I was never interested in Snodders either but this is what you end up with when you have RVP and a CHS dgw.
Nolan - good home form and has the fixtures. Will keep for now.
Don't know this Koren - will need to find out. Thanks for the tip.
I cap'n RVP most weeks tbf. Benteks has a dwg and was scoring goals for fun in the second half of last season.
Agreed on Anelka - will upgrade in the Luiz downgrade manouevre.

        Thanks for the FFA/FBA. Very detailed response. Much obliged. ;

Seriously have to back them for the league this year and I am not biased. My E/W bet on Ars is OK I think but I'm gonna put a big amount on Chelsk to win: they looked awesome.

The only stink for me was Torres but that's an ongoing stink anyway. Lukaku made a cameo but looks like he was born to inherit the Drog clone crown. Mata was genius. Haz was heavenly. Ram was a stamina pace ridden giant amongst mortals. Moses was parting the sea on a regular basis.

I just can't go on my only bother now is to guess the managers picks. Seriously great team this year.

Hmm food for thought. I am standing with Hazard and Lukaku for the double still. Chelsea DGW's usually reward the risk takers, just from my experience last season. Of course most top teams will and must rotate but I bet Mourinho will still use his best choices more often generally speaking.

I'll have to figure it out. Everton conceded only 2 against Madrid, they could probably hold Norwich. I just don't buy into Anelka starting and I don't know that I want Cornelius. So many options!

Ideally, I'd like to utilize all of my players and rotate my 3rd striker with my 5th mid.

I would advise strongly against the iPhone 4 and i'd recommend steering clear of the 4s now. The reason I say this is the volume of people i have dealt with in recent months who find their iPhone 4 struggling to process the more demanding apps. iPhone 4s DOES have a quicker processor but IOS 7 has been announced for September and could well push the 4s to its limits. You are investing in a handset to see you through the best part of 2 years, i expect, so if you can afford to future proof yourself, do so.

Apple are highly likely to announce a new handset (and rumours are already going into overdrive on what 'could' happen here. All pure speculation). You could get a cheaper deal on the 5 if this materialises, or, you could get the updated handset should it fall into your tariff requirements.

I have never seen this happen. I've worked in mobile phone retail since the first iphone was released and other than "I didnt back it up and now the phone is dead", which can be true of ANY phone, this is next to impossible.

When you plug your phone into your computer and sync it, you create a backup (unless you uncheck the box)

You can even back up to cloud storage wirelessly and contact files are minuscule.

I expect you'll end up with the HTC One.

I have two colleagues using the One.
One has always been Android, always likes to deviate from the crowd (anti apple, anti Samsung). He's a DJ and 2 weeks ago he used his One (which is the only phone to have its own built in amp, i believe) to play three songs of his set because he didnt have them on request. He, like you, had the sensation.
The other was an iPhone user (like me). He went from the iPhone 4s to the One because he was tired of Apple rehashing what is essentially a very similar mobile phone solution year in, year out. He absolutely loves the HTC to the point that he applied (successfully) to be an HTC ambassador.

If i were to leave the comfort of Apple (very high build quality and supreme customer services), I'd look for the HTC as it has got the next best feel in terms of build quality. The samsung interface is probably slightly nicer, imo, and the camera software has the edge, but i am not one for plastic over metal. It is an awesome phone and on paper, both HTC and Samsung's flagship devices trounce iPhone 5 (but you'd still never convince me to switch from Apple).

ULTIMATELY, have a go on all three for as long as you can. Take your headphones, use them in a shop. All three are great (mini's i'd avoid where possible; lower spec), you wont be disappointed, whichever you choose.

Oh, and I think you will probably have to consider a 24 month contract at that price but see what your retentions team say when you ask for your PAC or termination fee.

          hope this helps.

If there is profit in us beating your best offer, ill get a deal lined up at the nearest branch for you (and last i checked, we were giving out a media link thing, worth about £85 i think, with the handset - though im not sure if its still running).

Best Value for Money team i can think of

    Cech (Boruc)
    Mert, Coleman, Collins (Clyne/Brayford)
Hazard (C), Mirallas, Coutinho, Nolan (BK Kim)
    Lukaku, Giroud, JRod

    Money - 4.0

    Trades.
    Lukaku > Aspas GW2
    Cech > Mignolet GW3
    Nolan > Walcott GW5
    JRod > Berbatov GW4

    what do you guys think??

Planning 5 weeks on is pointless.
      Doesn't work. Tried it.
Week 2 is ok given dgw-blank gw.
But other than that, react, dont plan.

i get what you're saying but have you seen Nolan's first 4 games??
Cardiff City (H), Newcastle (A), Stoke City (H), Southampton (A).

and trading him out in GW5 to a Gunner makes perfect sense.
Stoke City (H), Swansea (A), West Brom (A), Norwich (H), Crystal Palace (A)

plenty of points to be got.

to be honest i dont think you really need RVP, especially when the rest of your lines suffer.

Cole should get 2 full games, Ivan more likely to bring attacking points. I'm going for both plus Hazard.

I think A is always better than B. I fancy Ivanovic will outscore Toure and Mirallas will outscore Navas

great teams, the only thing i'd change is Garrido/Parr.
      Clyne/Collins will rotate well.

Toure IMO is the current partner with Agger, but from what i'm reading LFC seems to be bringing in a few CB's and that would drop Toure's playing time.

Dzeko seems to be locked in according to Pellegrini, but i see that changing once Aguero is fit.
