KPI Analysis – Lambert and Rodriguez

Over the last few weeks, a combination of factors have elevated Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez into many pre-season Fantasy squads. The Saints’ kind opening run of fixtures has caught the eye, while Rodriguez’s more budget-friendly appeal over Rickie Lambert has also played a part in how we assess his potential across the Fantasy games. Having scored three times in the opening couple of summer friendlies, Rodriguez has been quick to hit form and as interest in the former Burnley man gathers, we use the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to analyse the impact of Mauricio Pochettino on both Rodriguez and Lambert over the previous season.

As mentioned previously, the KPI helps us track certain key statistics which are indicative of a player’s form over a certain Gameweek range or season. Having ran the rule over Robin Van Persie’s impact at United compared to his final year with Arsenal, we delve into last season’s data to look at the Saints duo’s performances from Gameweek 1-22 under Nigel Adkins compared to Gameweek 23-38, when Pochettino was installed as the new man in charge at St Mary’s. By also utilising the Comparison Tool across the two periods, there’s plenty for Fantasy managers to mull over.

I've been looking for the best FPL app for android ... Is there an official one (I can't seem to find it)?

  There was an official app for 2012/13 that came out during the season, don't think its been updated yet. Not an android user so don't know how well it works but can you not just use the website on your phone?

Completely off topic but just wondered if anyone saw the Chris Eubank Special on Ringside just now.

I grew up with the Benn Vs. Eubank rivalry and was always in Nigel's corner. Always thought Eubank was a bit of an over extravagant tit if I'm honest...

... but after seeing his interview this evening i realised just how good a person he was/is. He gives a very open and honest reflection on his career and life outside the ring - once you get past the fact his answers are typically unorthodox.

For anyone into boxing or sporting ethics, it was a really good watch.

    yeah, classic boxing. I loved Benn for his eternal state of 'battered'. Within 30 seconds he looked ragged and tired, but he had a hell of a punch on him. Made great viewing!
    
    Eubank was the perfect rival, clean and polished. Shame these days most of the hype is unmatched in the ring.

  In 1994 he took over a prime site in Brighton, which he called 'Buckingham Place'. He knocked down the interior whilst keeping the grade II façade intact and built 69 flats for the homeless, using £1,250,000 of his own money.   I've read a lot of information about Bale's transfer over the last few weeks and have never thought he'd leave, yet i just finally took him out on the basis I can't see him playing against Espanyol on Saturday and I don't think he's injured. It must be a precaution but i remember when he came back from injury earlier this year and wasn't so effective so if he does play against Crystal Palace he might be flat. Waiting to see if Soldado is any good against Espanyol if he plays and then he can be my spurs coverage.

Been tinkering with my team and now having a defensive issue for week 1 in that I'm not sure who to pick as all decent-ish games. Could you please rate which order you would pick the following, the other is a CHE defender who I will of course be playing... Other 4 are:

Collins (at home vs Cardiff)
Toure (at home vs Stoke)
M Turner (at home vs Everton)
Lescott (at home vs Newcastle) (was thinking he would play with Nastasic injured?!)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, cheers!

    Thanks for the suggestions, I'm still tinkering really, was trying to get a good side for first 3 game weeks but looking at it I will end up with some expensive players that I'm not even planning to play... Back to the drawing board I guess...

  Very very standard. Strike force is too punty for my taste but I can't remember the last time 8 saw a RMT featuring both Lukaku and Dzeko.
