The ScoutCast – Episode 110 – Cosmo

He’s well travelled. He’s multi-lingual. He’s just 19 points behind me. Despite my best start to a Fantasy Football season in living memory, Granville is right on my tail. In this latest episode of the ScoutCast, Granville takes delight in taunting me by wrapping his tongue around every “Pochettino” with ease, leaving me to struggle like Paul Merson with a mouth ulcer.

In between the mispronunciations, myself and the “cosmopolitan Manc” get heated about Robin Van Persie, rinse through the Gameweek 1 bandwagons, preview the weekend’s action and welcome the flying start made by this season’s ScoutCast team. It’s breathless stuff, squeezed into a low fat 40 minutes.

  I don't know but it happened to me last season and I went for the highest projected score and got it wrong... follow RMT to the book on selections... think it's kind of like playing the percentages, so they'll get more right than wrong (hopefully)

  Soldado is the main man for a vastly improved team and is a decent player also on pens. I got him in for Lukaku this week because he seems the logical choice. I agree though, I'm not wholly convinced but it's hard to be wholly convinced of anyone after one game in the PL. His goals to game ratio for the last three seasons is very good though.

Goingg to Greece this saturday for a week so have to think for 2 weeks ahead. Already done ivan -> coleman but went out on wednesday night and missed lukaku's price fall and i am therefore 0.1 short of doing the original Soldado transfer. Also have Anelka which is not good.

So do I go for Dzeko or Lambert? Lambert more nailed on which is good considering Anelka but Dzeko seems to be on form.

Avice would be very appreciated!

US Open draw released. Djokovic could be knocked out by Del Potro in the quarters. I think he will. Murray and Berdych in the same quarter too. All these 4 in the same half.

Could get messy

Rafa nailed on for the final. Fed in the quarters his toughest challenge but should come through.

Nadal for the title!

  Agreed. Whoever comes through the top half will be too knackered against Rafa in the final. Del Potro has the best chance of those I believe as he can win more cheap points in his serve which will be vital.

    I think Delpo's bigggest weapon is his forehand. The other 3 big guns in his side of the draw all possess a decent serve

      That is true, he has the biggest though. Hard courts favour him and he's won it before- beating Nadal and Federer on the way to doing so no less. If Berdych upsets Murray then del Potro may be worth an outside bet as I fancy him to sweep him aside.

Which striker is best for under 8 million (not dzeko can't face the constant fear of rotation!)?

My gut says van Wolfswinkle however seen a lot of people say he's not a good idea.

Btw this is to replace lukaku and I have no citeh or arsenal coverage.

It may be a bit late but for anyone who is looking to transfer out Hazard I would recommend putting in Walcott if you want a similar priced player to put in. Fulhams left side is weak, especially if Taarabt plays, and arsenal also have spurs in the next week which is a high scoring fixture where Walcott will most likely be involved, and by looking at his performance last night against Fenerbahce he will do well in those two games

  The only changes you really need to make this GW is Ivan to Zab now to avoid price rise and, if you really must, Lukaku to Sturridge.
  
  There is no need to dump Koscielny this GW when you can play Winston Reid instead. Olsson to Shaw can wait too as you already have Southampton cover with Boruc.
  
  A 4 point hit at most will see you right, my son.

    It's good advice, but sadly I'm too knee-jerky. Not necessarily for "hot picks", but it drives me nuts to see non-playing players in there. With Kos, it wasn't really the 1wk suspension, more that with all the injuries, I don't see the back line as anything but leaky.

It's baffles me why Chelsea would need an attacking mid ,unless Mata goes, but why would you wanna sell one of the best players in the Premier League?

  If you really believe those stats are all what you need, get Bony then. But it isn't, is it? It's a new team , they are just gelling with each other, believe me the 4-3-3 will be perfect in FPL terms for Soldado. Loads of service, and he will be the main focal point.
