FFS UEFA Beach Soccer Tournament 2013

Gameweek 8 sees the launch of the latest team competition for the Fantasy Football Scout community organised by FFS UEFA. Following the success of last season’s ICC-themed cricket tournament, the group have created FFS Beach Soccer World Cup 2013, with 16 teams, each comprised of 11 players, competing for the crown.

If you’re new to the concept and are wondering just what all the chatter has been about, here’s a link to their site which will help explain matters in a little more detail.

Essentially, the scoring is based around the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

Each team started scouting for players (ie, FPL managers) on Sunday, October 6 and the recruitment period will come to a close on Wednesday, October 16, with the roster of team players announced on Thursday, October 17.

The teams are led by a captain and vice-captain and guided by a manager, who decide which seven of their 11 players to field each week – depending on the perceived prospects of their FPL line-ups -and which four to bench. Their overall FPL scores for the Gameweek, with hits taken into account, will form the team’s score that week – by outscoring their opponents, they chalk up a win.

The first match in Gameweek 8 will be no more than a friendly before the main event gets underway the following weekend. This sees the 16 teams compete in four groups of four between Gameweek 9 and 11 – the top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stages, where sides square up in a head-to-head elimination process from Gameweek 12 until the final in Gameweek 15.             Thats become the issue now though I fear, massive increases in traffic to sites like this mean that people are becoming more interested in keeping their team going throughout the season and just getting better at the game in general. Going to be tough to maintain previous ranks, so its good I never cared about mine anyway ) !

      The two aren't necessarily linked but barring injuries I wouldn't have thought he'd be likely to start in the next few weeks.

        I doubt United will lose that many of them as the bandwagon started so long ago that even the ones that were bandwagoners than will not bother to jump off now. Chelsea and City who have made 90% of their supporters in the last 5 years would be in much bigger trouble. And I think you are overestimating the trouble united are in. Only 6 points behind the first place after the trickiest start of all the big sides is nothing that cant be overcame. I am not saying they will win the title but they will be top 3 easy IMO

    hey pepin. i saw on last page that you had earmarked a certain drunken irishman for a spot in your roster. now while i'm aware that prefacing the word irishman with the adjective drunken does very little to actually narrow down the list of prospective suspects, i have however surmised that i may be the very man in question, being, as i am, at least 50% within the parameters of this search at any given time. if i am mistaken, go about your business. nothing to see here. but if i'm correct in my assumption i must sadly decline the position in view of my recent defection to the sun kissed shangri la of sambalific brazilliance. ps. joke's on them as i'm ranked 1.4 mil and currently clearly clueless

        your suggestion was the inspiration. but i'm a flairwh0re and consequently with my favourite two players being who they are i was only ever going to be megatronaldinho or megatrivaldo. actually maybe the latter wudda bin preferable as it sounds like a kick ass dinosaur and nearly contains the word trivia
