The Dugout Discussion – Sunday

Sunday brings the Gameweek to a close with a trio of matches featuring an array of Fantasy talent. Things get rolling with a pair of lunchtime kick-offs, as Villa host United and Swansea make the trip to Carrow Road to face Chris Hughton’s Norwich. That’s followed by the headline act, as Andre Villas-Boas looks to continue the Spurs revival against a Liverpool unit weakened by a string of injuries.

While the press will be focused on David Moyes, Fantasy managers will be more interested in Wayne Rooney’s performance. With a potential absence for Sergio Aguero looming, the United striker could make himself “essential” over the Christmas period if he can produce in the midlands. With Michu expected to earn a run-out at Norwich, we’ll have the opportunity to assess whether he can join both David Silva and Theo Walcott on our midfield Christmas list, while at 4pm, all eyes will be on Luis Suarez as he looks to overcome the absence of skipper Steven Gerrard and strike partner Daniel Sturridge against the Spurs back four.

The main figure that matters is what % of people captained Suarez. I seem to remember Smarty pants reported 56% of captains in the top 10k had already played last night. So Suarez should be captained by some way below 44% of high flying players, especially when you take off Rooney captainers. Who knows exactly how much he will be, maybe around 30%?

It's not nearly as high as when he slaughtered West Ham, is my point.

    Even better then. Yeah almost all RVP (C) owners would be dead teams who stopped playing before Suarez became essential (yes I used that word - and I use it sparingly). Might be the likes of Soldado as VC!

    Yep, marathon not a sprint etc. 1 GW down, 22 to go. I can understand people fretting about their ML leaders but it's pointless worrying about whether you can catch them, how is it going to make any difference? You try your hardest all the time no matter what other people are doing.

How well you do at the end of the season comes down to experience, a lot of luck, and choices you make on days like this when there are 4-5 captaincy options. From a Suarez non-captainer with Flanagan stuck as second sub. Little wonder I'm just within 1m in rank. 🙁

Agueros value is currently 12.5, if I went to sell him now I would only be able to get 12.0 from him.

If he rises to 12.6 would his selling value then be 12.3?
