The Weekend Team News

Jack Wilshere is ruled out for several weeks, though Aaron Ramsey is due back next weekend for Arsenal. Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel return to training for Norwich. Scott Parker is ruled out for Fulham, who also have concerns over Kostas Mitroglou and William Kvist following international duty. Marouane Chamakh emerges as a strong doubt for Palace, Phil Jagielka is unlikely to make Everton’s cup clash with Arsenal, whilst Laurent Koscielny is a doubt with a hamstring problem:

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere sustained a hairline fracture to a bone in his foot whilst on international duty for England in midweek. Following scans and further investigation by the FA and the Gunners, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier this morning that Wilshere will be out of action for around six weeks. Wenger had some good news on the injury front today, though, after revealing both Aaron Ramsey and Kim Kallstrom are expected to be available for next weekend’s north London derby trip to Tottenham. Elsewhere, the Arsenal manager also admitted that defender Laurent Koscielny picked up a hamstring problem whilst with France and is “a little doubt” to face Everton in the FA Cup this weekend.

Roberto Martinez has given an update on Phil Jagielka’s hamstring injury ahead of Everton’s cup tie with Arsenal, suggesting that the defender is “very unlikely” to feature at the Emirates this weekend.

Norwich’s injury worries have eased ahead of the weekend visit of Stoke, with Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel both returning to training following wrist and knee injuries respectively. Chris Hughton remains hopeful that the pair will come through training without any issues prior to selecting his squad. Meanwhile, the Canaries boss is confident both Joseph Yobo and Martin Olsson are fit to face Mark Hughes’s men after withdrawing from international duty in the week. Leroy Fer, Jonas Gutierrez and Michael Turner remain sidelined.

Tony Pulis has revealed that Marouane Chamakh is a doubt for the weekend. The forward suffered a hamstring injury at Swansea last week and the Eagles boss isn’t holding out much hope of the Moroccan being available, suggesting that Chamakh is “struggling.” Pulis also admitted that there are “one or two other niggles” around the camp and a late decision will be made on their availability.

Reports suggest that Fulham’s January signings William Kvist and Kostas Mitroglou both picked up hamstring injuries whilst away on international duty this week, with boss Felix Magath expected to check on the duo’s fitness ahead of the six-pointer with Cardiff. Magath will decide on Mitroglou’s inclusion against Cardiff after conversing with the club’s doctors. Scott Parker is out of tomorrow’s showdown after sustaining a knee injury in training, Fernando Amorebieta is also unavailable with a muscle problem, whilst Damien Duff may not feature again this term due to a knee injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

You're okay I'd say. No point changing anyone IMO, I'm also sticking with Adrian and Mannone (and I have a spare FT), that combo just looks great from now until end of season.

kasami, and parr in this week with 2 FTs so i can put out 9 players

then gerrard, aguero and huddlestone in for -4 before gw31

    gives me this for gw31:

    mannone
    coleman, ward, chester (azpi, parr)
    yaya, hazard, gerrard, huddlestone (kasami)
    aguero, sturridge, suarez

Is Smartypants still around? What would be useful is if s/he did a breakdown of the number of players people are predicted to have playing this GW based on who was in their team the week before. Obviously it wouldn't take transfers into account but it would at least give a guide as to what the average is across the rankings. From there we could make a more educated decision as to how whether to stick or twist when it comes to tansfers for GW29.

I'm in the same boat and I'm leaning towards "no." My opponent doesn't have Yaya though, so I'm not completely screwed in the ML if he gets a good score. I think it's one of those leading/trailing decisions at this point of the season. Mata is obviously a differential, while Yaya is the safe choice for holding on to a lead.

Expanding slightly on the question I posted a minute ago:

Best sub 4.4 def for the rest of the season:

    a) Vlaar - tough short term fixtures but picks up a lot of bonus points
    b) M Olsson - great fixtures until the last 4 games of the season
    c) Williamson - risk? pretty good fixtures though
    d) Ward/Gabbidon - mixed fixtures
    e) Bardsley to double with Manonne - good fixtures but do i want to double?

Vlaar would be my preferred choice from this list although he does cost more than the likes of Chambers, Dann, Chester... etc...
Olsson plays for Norwich. I'm not sure what it is but i can't stand the sight of that yellow shirt in my team so i wouldn't pick him.
Williamson will be a differential although not sure that will be in a positive way!
I dont think Gabbidon plays so i wouldn't get him.
I have Mannone and considered Bardsley but decided it is crazy to double up on Sunderland defence

Evans is likely to miss the DGW so yes, but it depends who you can afford to replace him with... Stoke defender maybe, Evra much better if you can afford

Don't know what transfers to do this week, any help much appreciated!

    Noone / Mirallas / Silva / Lallana / Eriksen
Sturridge / van Persie / Suárez

2 FT, £0.5m in the bank.

Only thing I can think of is Koscielny ----> Smalling?

Got 2FT this week so obviously want to use one to avoid losing it, but with 8 starters I'm thinking of just planning for future weeks and raising the 0.7 needed to do Adebayor - Aguero next GW.

Thinking Koscielny - Williamson, sound enough plan? Two good home fixtures for Newcastle in GW31.

    Boruc

    Cahill, Ward

    Hazard (c), Mata, Lallana, Snodgrass

    Adebayor

(Mannone, Coleman, Collins, Ward, Ki, Suarez, Sturridge)

    3.0 in bank

1 FT for Mata. Which one should I transfer out that his game time is more questionable:

    A) Eriksen
    B) Noone

It's just 1 week punt. The only important thing is only and only to play in GW29.

Both may play this week, wait for news or take out another player who doesn't have a fixture.
