FFS Paddy Power Cup IX and Members Cup IV – Fourth Round Draws

After an elongated Gameweek 31 finally came to its conclusion last night, we now roll out the draw for the Fourth Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX and Members Cup IV, as sponsored by Paddy Power. In the former competition, reigning champion Tdubb05 crashed out – despite registering 152 points over last week’s 15 fixtures, he was beaten by Chewy’s impressive 171 point haul:

Jonty and donnellyc were also amongst the former champions to take a tumble, leaving MCH as the only previous winner still in with a shout of the silverware – having seen off Gruffyboy last time around, he now squares up to ManofKent. Other notable community match-ups include Triggerlips v Michu Picchu and Woy of the wovers v Attila the Bum.

Special mentions go to ChamakhThat – the highest scoring manager in the previous round with 177 points – and Intransigent, who is the highest ranked manager remaining in the competition; he sits in 125th in the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) rankings.

A full list of last week’s results is here, and the draw for the Fourth Round, which kicks off this Saturday and lasts right through to Monday evening, when Sunderland take on West Ham at the Stadium of Light, can be found here.

In the FFS Members Cup IV, there are a number of eye-catching draws for Gameweek 32. These included In Like Flynn v Jamez8, In Tommy We Trust v meerlight, JohnTerrysDog2 v Anonymous and Stumanchuu v Arthur Gomez.

Once again, ChamakhThat’s 177 point haul was the highest score of the round. Stumanchu is the top-ranked manager left in the Member Cup hat, sitting in 485th spot overall.

You can click here to check out the Fourth Round draw, which gets underway this weekend, whilst the full list of Third Round results can be found here.

As always, good luck to all those still in with a shout of the silverware.

If people could only have 1 out of Yaya and Hazard from now until the end of the season who would you have?

Yaya due to more fixtures. But Hazard has better fixtures. I think both are must haves for the run in.

Should I take out Kos this week or just play Olsson and save FT?

Only have 5.7m for a replacement

    Mannone (Adrian)
    Coleman Evra Olsson (Kos! Ward)
    Yaya Hazard Gerrard AJ (Delph)
    SS Lukaku

    A - Kos > Azpi
    B - Save FT and play Olsson/Ward

    Thanks

might be an option instead of an Arsenal defender for the final run-in due to Arsenal's lack of resilience..thinking 4-3-3 atm with Azpi, Ivan and Zab so need that 4th spot..would allow me to do Sturridge > Rooney too

United's last 4 fixtures are good, they have a double and Liverpool's trail off a bit..plus would still have Suarez and Gerrard

Both could work in 4-3-3 with doubles

            hmm what about

AJ over Kaboul in a 3-4-3 so United, City and Chelsea defence. Might end up having to sell Coleman in GW34 to get Kun though, or not get Eriksen until later

I'm dropping Baines by the last month..their last 4 are United (h), Soton (a), City (h), and Hull (a)..can see them conceding in all 4 matches

Sunderland look a bit toothless so I wouldn't be too too keen on holding on too AJ though the 2 more DGWs is tantalizing and he did restore a bit of faith with that assist..

depending on how United react to the CL and the outcome of that I'll approach the defense cautiously but I simple don't trust them enough to spend so much on them (only Evans is cheap and he's still crocked)

I can sell either of Baines or Coleman to Demichelis for GW34 to afford Kun, or I could keep Coleman and dump AJ for say Thud (whose DGW isn't that much better tbh) playing 4-3-3 in GW34

But yeah by GW36 my team will have no Everton.

                    Huddlestone

Zaba's threat is over-rated IMO. Plus he has 8 yellows. Would you keep both Everton defence for GW34. Losing one of them or AJ, or not getting Eriksen are my only routes to Aguero for GW34

Unless he gets 2 yellows in the next 3 games he's totally fine.

Watching Everton play, I honestly would be a nervous wreck every weekend with double Everton defense. It's not guaranteed that Coleman/Baines will get attacking returns every game.

Of those 3 options, I would lose one of them..at least AJ is a main attacking outlet for Sunderland (no matter how dire they can be) and he has two more DGWs..depending on how much and how Eriksen is played over the next two gameweeks could validate how worthwhile he is

Hey guys, have a tactical question.

I'm trailing by 40 points and my two main rivals have exactly the same big hitters in their team + defence is the same. Who would you get rid out of Suarez, Yaya and Hazard.

Is it completely insane to do Suarez>Rooney and (c) him this week? Time is running out and I don't see any explosive differentials in midfield. My rivals will jump on the Aguero and Rooney train for their doubles, so don't see me makíng up any ground. Other option is to go with risky captain picks.

I can't see myself dropping the holy trinity of Yaya - Haz - Gerrard the rest of the season (especially if Gerrard skates by the next 3 matches without picking up that 10th yellow)..so it looks like part of my 433 vs 343 decision comes down to whether Eriksen grabs a starting spot for the rest of the season under Dim Tim

I wish I had made room for Gerrard, sadly my rival having Migs addled my brain and made me take Flanagan to head him off (leaving Cahill on my bench). Had I just kept MOlsson I would probably have gone Huddlestone and Gerrard over AJ and Nolan

Im starting to think it may be better do do Evra ---> Cahill now (already got Azpi):

    Reasons
-Evra might not start/might only play a half
-Villa have a good strike force
-United's home record and form is poor
-Chelsea probably more likely to keep a cleanie
-Im chasing a 50point gap so unsure if I can risk a 2/0 pointer from a £6.6m player

If this had been, say GW36, I would have definitely done it as I'm currently 20 points behind my ML leader.

At the moment I might play it 'safe', but my gut feeling says Sturridge will run around Vert and Kaboul/Dawson, especially if they stick to the 4-4-2.

Am I alone in thinking Zaba is over-rated as an FPL pick? Other than his nailed-onness I'm not sure what he offers, no attacking returns in 6 months and rarely get BAPs. Strikes me that Komps or Demichelis are much better picks as both are just as nailed, more likely to get BAPs and have decent attacking threat

Lack of injuries & competition gives guaranteed starts. He has got 5 assists this season too and has scored the most points for a Man City defender.

As Epicfail says Zabaleta always looks like the most dangerous defender when you watch Man City.
