Community Submissions Area – Now Live

The new Community Submissions section is now live. You can get to this section to view any published articles and to submit an article, via the Community tab in the menu bar. You will also notice a new Articles tab in the previously named Comments widget in your sidebar. The most recently published community submissions will be listed here.

In case you missed our previous update on this, this new section allows any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published on the site in the new Community section. Some articles may also be promoted to the homepage listing and sit alongside our regular articles.

As we mentioned last week, in many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. The community can now interact with us and fellow community members by posting comments, Hot Topics and now fully fledged articles.

It’s now over to you to help shape this community section. While we’ve suggested categories for article submissions in the form, you have the freedom to submit articles on any given area of Fantasy Football. Player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any free community tournaments you’re running will all be considered and possibly published in this section.

Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

We are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports or, at this stage, perhaps a review of the season from their club’s perspective. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be our eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

We’d like to think that there are several potential writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years. We will re-launch the section prior to next season when the community welcomes some new faces but, this soft launch is an opportunity for our current community to get involved, prior to the World Cup and pre-season.

If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on initial squad targets for the next, then pen your article and post it to us via the submissions area.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thank god Giggs's nurturing young talent speech is guff and ManU still loans out and sells its young players. 🙂 ManU's loss is Brighton's gain.

We produce quality players. some make it at United, some don't. The verdict on Lingard is still out. All of the following were in the United academy and have played in the PL this season

            Cardiff - Eikrem, Daelhi
            Everton - Gibson
            Fulham - Richardson
Hull - Chester, Brady (plus Dudgeon who has missed the season with injury)
            Stoke - Shawcross
            Sunderland - O'Shea, Brown, Bardsley
            Totteham - Fryers
            West Brom - Foster

            Next season will see
            Burnley - Heaton
Leicester - James, Drinkwater, De Laet

Hardly any end up ManU regulars though. That's a shame for ManU, great news for other teams.

hmm, I think the standards by the Class of 92 have set too high a standard. Welbeck, Fletcher, Januzaj, Lawrence, Wilson, Cleverley

All Academy products that have played this season. Brown and O'Shea were regulars for years.

Southampton aside how mnay PL teams are regularly playing academy products.

                a few stats

since WWII 99 United academy products have played International Football
Since 1937 238 Academy players have been named in the First team squad (50% of all 1st team players)
Around the world 120 players playing atm came through the United academy
The Hull match marked the 3,699th consecutivr game with at least one AScademy graduate in the 1st team squad

Not many premier lg teams can boast academy players among their regular first team, including ManU.

Januzaj is a product of the anderlecht academy btw. The rest are squad players. Nice to see Wilson and Lawrence played in one dead rubber game but the real proof will be how many starts they get from now on.

ManU really isn't that different from most prem league clubs when it comes to their own young talent. Like the others they loan or ship out their young players and buy in talent instead.

I was 12 the following August. Funny how remember nothing about the replay. Just the late equaliser and, well, that miss.

Not quite that old, but I have fond memories of going to the old Goldstone ground while they were bumping around the bottom of the league. That 1996/7 season in particular was quite something - 12 points adrift at the bottom of the old division 3 at Christmas, and staying up on goal difference thanks to a 1-1 draw on the last day of the season.

    What would you do?

    A. Start Mata

I'll be very surprised if Liverpool don't get another pen soon so I like the look of Gerrard this week. I'd prob start Ramsey tho, and Mata 1st sub. I'm dreadfully dull tho.

What would you do with this team for the last GW ? Have 1 FT and 0.2m in the bank. Aguero, Chester and Rooney doubtful. Don't mind taking a point hit this week ?

    De Gea, Speroni
    Vlaar, Chester, Alonso, Kolarov, Chambers
Mata, Eriksen, Yaya Toure, Ramsey, Barkley
    Suarez, Rooney, Aguero

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Man Utd U21's play final three days after Southampton so I reckon none of the youngsters will be risked. Mata to start I reckon as Giggs has rotated game time.
