Community Submissions Area – Now Live

The new Community Submissions section is now live. You can get to this section to view any published articles and to submit an article, via the Community tab in the menu bar. You will also notice a new Articles tab in the previously named Comments widget in your sidebar. The most recently published community submissions will be listed here.

In case you missed our previous update on this, this new section allows any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published on the site in the new Community section. Some articles may also be promoted to the homepage listing and sit alongside our regular articles.

As we mentioned last week, in many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. The community can now interact with us and fellow community members by posting comments, Hot Topics and now fully fledged articles.

It’s now over to you to help shape this community section. While we’ve suggested categories for article submissions in the form, you have the freedom to submit articles on any given area of Fantasy Football. Player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any free community tournaments you’re running will all be considered and possibly published in this section.

Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

We are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports or, at this stage, perhaps a review of the season from their club’s perspective. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be our eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

We’d like to think that there are several potential writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years. We will re-launch the section prior to next season when the community welcomes some new faces but, this soft launch is an opportunity for our current community to get involved, prior to the World Cup and pre-season.

If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on initial squad targets for the next, then pen your article and post it to us via the submissions area.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I could afford a stupid -12 of Aguero + Ramsey + Nasri + Podolski > Suarez + Hazard + Ozil + Adebayor on the dot and run the following on Sunday:

    ...............Speroni
    ........Baines - Ivan - Cahill
    Ozil - Haz - Eriksen - Mata - Yaya
    ............Suarez - Ade

    DDG; Wickham, Ward, Chester

thankfully Aguero will drop today and price me out of the moves so I do something more sensible

Ozil seems a risk. Could easily be rested for FA Cup final? I'd also be concerned with Mourinho opting to field a more experimental XI

Clearly this is not a percentage move, why lose nasri or podolski for hits?

Aguero Ramsey for Suarez hazard sound good though

I suppose if you feel you have nothing left to play for why not have a bit of fun. I'm only 3pts inside 10k and need to take probably 8 pts in hits just to get a team out so thinking hard on what the right moves are

Probably not but wait for press conference. If it is still ambiguous after that then the best bet may be to sell.

Fair play to number two overall. Could have easily gone with Aguero (8.6m ITB) but instead when with Dzeko (c), scored 118pts and went from 11 to 2nd.

Hey guys I would appreciate your help, as we go into the last week I am 13 points behind the leader.
Not too much! Please help me overtake him!

    My team

    Boruc
    Coleman Zabaleta Azpilcueta
    Sterling Yaya Mata Nasri
    Wickham Suarez Rooney

    (Adrian Koscielny Januzaj McNaughton)

My opponents team (based on last week)

    Mannone
    Coleman Evra Zabaleta Azpiluceuta
    Sterling Yaya Ramsey
    Welbeck Suarez Giroud

    (Begovice Januzaj, Huddlestone Caulker)

I am thinking I need to take out rooney as i cant risk him being bench fodder in the last week, and I can see Wilson playing again. With that in mind I am considering bringing in Augero, but that means I have to get rid of a city player somewhere else.Or i could bring in Sturridge.

    Thoughts?

    any other ideas...

Yeah he will definitely captain Suarez, but, I do think my fringe players are better than his so Im scared to not go with suarez.

Oh ya forgot about aguero, so hes out.

Sturridge or Dzeko i guess them.

If i brought in Dzeko I could go for Hazard...risky?

I think dzeko is a good option this week and hazard is ok but I'm not sure taking out a fit and healthy man city player for another one is worth the transfer unless you want to captain dzeko which could work out but you will be starting a further 4 pts behind

Yes but you need to lose one of nasri yaya or zaba or you can't get in dzeko. You can do Rooney > Sturridge for free. Better off losing mata for hazard as mata game time pretty questionable, yaya and nasri both nailed on home to west ham

Your midfield is superior and Evra might not even play (if rumours are to be believed). I think you can get one over him if you sell Rooney (who is a doubt) for someone like Dzeko or Sturridge. Thats probably all you'll need to do as I suspect Mata will start since he wasn't in the squad on the weekend. Having Koscielny as 1st sub is also valuable.

I'm sure he'd love to return to the club that launched his career, I can definitely see it happening but then again Athletico aren't a small club anymore and may even deem Torres to not be good enough.

Northampton Town Cobblers in League 2 might well see him as not being good enough. Athletico are in the major league now and would only be looking to buy quality players on their way up. Torres would only fill a "Samuel Eto'o"-esk role at Athletico, the occasional 15 minute cameo.

Yeah Torres would probably still be worth about 10m in the deal so I think it will be a good value for money option for Athletico.

Rumours abound of him heading to Barcelona, can't see him moving though.

Whether Torres will be a valuable asset at Athletico is still largely up for debate. I'm sure Mourinho and Torres both, would like a part exchange deal like that to go ahead. Its probably up to Athletico now as to what they want.

imo if Atletico are going to get rid of Costa, Torres is not the ideal replacement. Simeone should already know that already. Torres could be used as part of deal, but I;m sure he's not the one to lead the line. Plus, they already had a proven, old-legs back up in Villa. They need a player who's lethal and aggressive enough to suit their style of play. Heck, they may even consider Negredo or Soldado who might have a decent WC.

I would agree with you. However old news articles suggest they would like Torres to return if Chelsea are prepared to pay part of his wage bill. It seems sentimentality might play a big part even though there are probably better options out there.

    HELP!

Am 6 points ahead of my cash ML rival going into the last GW. Our lineups are fairly similar, but these are the differentials:

ME: Mannone, Evra, Dann, Ramsey (subs: AJ, Bardsley, P.Jones)
HIM: Ruddy, Terry, Ward, Mata (subs: Puncheon, A.Williams, Williamson)

Since there are uncertainties over Evra and Ramsey, and Bardsley and P.Jones probably will not play due to OOF/injury, should I take a hit to do P.Jones -> Baines (or any other defender)?

At least then I would be fairly certain of fielding 11, but my lead would only be 2 points.

    Thoughts?

Why Baines, aren't they playing away? I'd be more tempted to do a likely CS, Koscielny or Skrtl could be good options? Or just replicate his team and go with Terry?

So in your opinion I should take the hit to cover my a*s?

Baines was just a name I plucked out of the air ... basically I have enough ITB to buy any defender, but deciding to buy for CS potential, and then again whether they will even play is making my hair turn gray

You already have a solid midfield 4. I think you'll be giving yourself a benching issue if you go for Sterling. I'd advise against it unless you want to start 5 midfielders.

I really don't know how to make up these 11 points between me and my rival. He's got; Gerrard, Sturridge and will captain Suarez. I've got none of those.

What do you think I should do? I want to punt on a crazy captain choice.

But I'm tempted to do Noone + Aguero > Sterling + Dzeko.

I think you have the better team already once you deal with the Aguero/Rooney situation. He has a lot of Southampton players and I'd expect United to win that game.

Your midfield and defence are fine, don't touch them imo. Just sell Rooney and Aguero probably for Dzeko and Sturridge. Wait on the press conferences of course in case one of them is declared fit. Sturridge would be a good captaincy option.

Mata might not play as Giggs has already shown he's looking to bloody some youngsters and change things up for next year's manager. I think he's definitely in their best XI but you just don't know whether he'll start ... wouldn't be surprised to see him come on for 10 minute cameo at the end of the game to keep him interested in staying at United.

Arsenal have 4th spot secured and nothing to play for. They have the FA Cup final the following week and might want to rest Ramsey for the big game. He's had a niggle all week and only just been declared fit. He also could start on the bench and come on for a light jog to keep his body mobile.

          Both are question marks.

I've started playing it but not a lot. Theres a lot of stuff in it. Can spend ages during the transfer window and the matches are quite long if you watch them. I'm not gone on it yet. It's a lot of effort haha

Frankly I preferred FIFA manager, as it simplified the attributes into approx out of 100. IE if one guy was lv50, and another was lv.60, that guy was generally a better player. Also, watching the matches seemed more realistic and had more fun elements like designing jerseys, building and viewing a new stadium etc.

I played Fifa manager mode a lot as well but I do like the sophistication of FM. I'm not too bothered about playing games and I'm happy to watch highlights. The main reason I got annoyed with Fifa was simply the fact that I was too good. I won the world cup with New Zealand for example.

I meant the actual FIFA manager game, as opposed to manager mode in the FIFA footie game. It's like Football manager and you don't control the team on the pitch. You just watch the team play.
