The Fantasy Football Scout Leagues Round-Up

The current lull in domestic matters affords us time to pause and assess the Scout leagues in a variety of Fantasy games. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there is much for us to analyse:

Fantasy Premier League

Milan Mihajlovic sits atop the Scout League with a total of 462 points after the first seven Gameweeks. Having already played his wildcard, he’s opted for big-hitters Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero up front along with Romelu Lukaku, whilst in midfield, the likes of Angel di Maria, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Raheem Sterling have been crucial to his ascent up the rankings. Intriguingly, Milan – who is second overall – has only one defender priced at 5.0 or over, Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand.

Maciek takes second spot after a Gameweek 7 score of 64 points. He’s tripled up on Chelsea trio Branislav Ivanovic, Cesc Fabregas and Costa and also has the likes of Di Maria, Sterling and Sigurdsson in the centre of the park. Up top, though, he’s opted for Radamel Falcao and Danny Welbeck on his way to 455 points, or 14th overall.

In third position is Stephen Hourie, who has also racked up 455 points so far. His inspired decision to captain Di Maria earned him 70 points in Gameweek 7, whilst the likes of Costa, Sterling, Sigurdsson and Fabregas all chipped in with returns. Intriguingly, he’s opted for Welbeck and Leonardo Ulloa up top, allowing him to acquire big-hitters Ivanovic and Leighton Baines at the back.

Fourth-placed Craig Ellis is a new entry to the Scout League. He also has a number of the usual suspects – Costa, Di Maria, Sigurdsson, Fabregas and Sterling – though placed his faith in a couple of differentials last week, with James Tomkins and Jamie Vardy both helping him up to 24th overall, on 451 points.

Peter Chesley completes the top five on 450 points. After a slight fall last weekend, he’ll be hoping Southampton trio Ryan Bertrand, Dusan Tadic and Graziano Pelle can take advantage of the upcoming five fixtures and fire him back up the leaderboard.

Thanks to our top five, we have retained our spot at the top of the League of Leagues, as we look to retain our crown once again. To join up, the code is 11856-4526.

Peter Chesley also impresses in our Members league and leads the way, whilst Marc Wilcox is second on 439 points and Charles Garnier third on 438 points.

Ultimate Fantasy Premier League

Joe Connolly is the new leader of the UFPL Scout League. He racked up 94 points last time around and moves onto 570 points for the season, enough to earn him fifth spot in the overall standings. Lee C drops into second on 565 points, or 12th overall, whilst Lee Fricker climbs into third on 564 points, enough to take 16th spot thus far. To join our UFPL league, the code is 524-87.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Stephen Lambert is the current Scout league leader, after racking up 537 points in the first few Gameweeks. Stephen sits 17th in the overall standings and is just three points ahead of Ashley Rastrick, who is second in our league, and 21st overall, with third placed Jack McKenna sitting on 533 points, earning him 22nd spot in the overall standings so far. The winner of our Sky league, which is also top in the league of leagues, wins £1,000. To join up, the league name is FFScout and the code is 8009000.

Champions League

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. After two rounds of Matchdays, Matt Parsons heads the Scout Legaue with 162 points, though he’s closely followed by Daniel Lord (160 points) and Waleed Cherif on 159 points. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

We’ve set up another league for those brave souls willing to place their faith in the official Champions League game. There’s just three points separating our top three in this competition – rahmanok leads the way on 142 points, closely followed by gkalaf and Pavlle on 141 and 140 points respectively.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Anybody else considering 3-5-2 this season? There are lots of appealing mids and you could definitely make do with Costa and Agüero up front.

and lots of 6.0 fwds to help ease the pain...No reason not to have a full squad and play 3-5-2 most of the time..

I started with Sturridge, Rooney and Costa but have quickly moved to Costa Sturridge and Vardy.. the reason being i dont see any attacker below 5 million with as much potential as Vardy and i like having a good budget attacker on the bench(saves me a transfer when i get a short term injury elsewhere/i got eriksen playing city away with good fixtures after like this week 🙂 )
Soooo many options in midfield this year.. choosing 5 from
Sanchez, Wally, Ramsey, Hazard, Fabregas, Sterling, Adm, Eriksen, Chadli, Tadic etc is a pain.. let alone choosing just 4. while there are only 2 viable strikers atm between 6 and 11 million(Welbeck and Pelle) and Aguero is just a bit to expensive

Really want to do Siggy ---> Tadic

What puts me off is I've had Siggy since day one and can sell him for 6.4 but if I ever want him back I might struggle to afford the 6.8+

    DDG (myhill)
Caulker - clyne - chester (moore - wisdom)
Sterling - Hazard - ADM - Siggy (boyd)
    Balo - Costa - Welbz
    0.4m ITB

Thoughts on how to use FT??

Would suggest downgrade DDG to a cheaper GK and upgrade Balo or Chester

Caulker has to go as well, that defence is worrisome imo

    2. The Governor

      Where to start?

United fixtures turn atrocious soon, and you don't have a backup GK. You're going to have to sell De Gea next week anyway (he MIGHT be okay this week, but don't bank on a United CS)

Sort that defence out. QPR have tough games coming up, Chesters place is no longer secure, Leicester are rubbish at the back (I'm a Leicester fan) and WBA arent great either.

And finally, Balotelli should really get out of your team...

      1. Gunner HitIT
        • 9 Years

Abs a cheap GK is better off.

      1. Sebbo29
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

start with doing what Gunner suggest: downgrade DDG and upgrade Caulker. Make sure you have at least 2 decent DEF that are nailed (if you cannot afford Baines then at least Azpi or Mangala. Balo to Pelle is also a good idea - this gives you even more cash to upgrade DEF

Basically, this is my current team for next week:

    Heaton
    Clyne -- Bardsley -- Caulker
Di Maria -- Sterling -- Fabregas -- Tadic
    Costa -- Pelle -- Naismith

McGregor (inj) -- Marney -- Naylor -- Kelly

    2 FT's, £3.1m in the bank.

Want to use a transfer, or I'll lose it. I guess my options are below:

    A) Sell McGregor, though I don't know who for, and Burnleys fixtures are quite good.
    B) Sell Caulker for Baines
    C) Sell Naismith for Welbeck

What do you think? Any other ideas?

    1. Gunner HitIT
      • 9 Years

B looks good, however would suggest wait for welbeck's injury news if you really think welbz is gonna score big

      1. The Governor
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

I've had Naismith a while now, think he's pretty secure until Barkely returns, and Everton have some great fixtures. Happy to give Naismith another week at home to Villa.

Tempted to jump on the Baines wagon personally...

        1. Gunner HitIT

Seems a good idea, would wait till welbeck hits gear.

      1. The Governor

        9 years, 8 months ago

BUT, my dilemma is, if I do Caulker to Baines this week, then I won't be able to afford Naismith to Welbeck...

        1. Sebbo29
          • 9 Years
          9 years, 8 months ago

if you do only Caulker to Baines then you will still have 2 FT next week and could do Naismith to Welbz plus downgrade Tadic to Siggy/Chadli or something

Those like me who have Lukaku and are not sure what to do, the return of Barkley is great news, the partnership they had made before his injury was great and it improved Lukaku's points potential. Also limits Naismith gametime as well

I would keep for now. Check if he plays as lone forward vs Villa. If not, you have to go for cheaper attackers (so many options Welbeck, Pelle, Berahino, Cisse etc who dont really have competition so guaranteed starts) and upgrade elsewhere.

    I have 2 FT. Should I do

Fábregas to Chadli and PVA to Baines. Need to sell Fab to free up funds and would like Baines now for the good run of fixures.

    My Team is

    Forster/Kasper

    Berty, Naylor, Chambers, Duff, PVA

    Siggy, ADM, Sterling, BOyd, Fab

    Aguero, Costa, Pelle

    Thanks
