I would keep Sterling. He should be moving back to CAM with Jordon Ibe coming back. Lallana was poor today. I can see even Markovic getting his place back.

Or Ibe too, forgot about him. Still, the question marks surrounding his position is enough to put me off him for the time being. I'd rather have Coutinho or Henderson full stop over Sterling also if looking at Liverpool mids.

I thought Lallana did okay, his shot wasn't far off and if it went in they'd be making a statue of him.

I'd rather have Mata at this point. Unless he drops Lallana and starts playing Markovic Sterling is not a good FPL pick.

Fixed it so it's less confusing.

I'm struggling on deciding what front seven to work towards. So far I have come up with:

    Eriksen Sterling Hazard Silva
    Aguero Costa Kane

This is taking in consideration Arsenal's upcoming blank.
Sterling is Liverpool cover instead of Sturridge.

What do you guys think? I'm not comfortable letting Aguero go with those home fixtures.

I'm holding Aguero too. I'm in that camp. Anyway, it looks good, but Sterling - as I mentioned above - is not someone I would be targeting.

If Costa was fit I'd be selling Aguero but that slight injury has made me wait till the end of the internationals at least. Might just hang onto Aguero for another week. Again

Costa has 2 games left to avoid getting 2 yellows. I'd say he's safe. The other players are irrelevant for FPL imo

I guess that would be for trying to escape from a half Nelson and for the slightest movement of his foot which wouldn't have hurt a fly.

You really are scraping the barrel.

I'm not sure it's fair to say he's out of form. More like he's being played out of position. A bit like Rooney was (but not so deep as that).

He's not scoring goals but seems to be maintaining similar underlying stats. I'm putting form to equal goals in this case.

i'm one of those who's misused this word-along with a thousand other malapropisms- but i wud do so again. seeing as how practically everything is a reaction to something, i feel that reactive doesn't quite have the force required to define a person or thing acting solely in response to outside stimuli. reactionary sounds miles better and, as someone with no compunction in shaping language to fit meaning, i am glad that its definition is becoming diluted

I haven't been slating Aguero. I have been commenting on how 4-2-2-2 is hurting him. Which is to say that he is being played deeper behind Bony/Dzeko and it doesn't suit him.

I don't think it's right to say a player is out of form when he's being played out of position. Rooney played quite well in midfield for United. But he couldn't deliver 10.5m striker FPL points from there.

Aguero is the same case as far as I am concerned. But not one I will take a hit to change.

I agree that it's hurting him but you can't deny he's been missing chances he would normally bury. And being far less patient in general. So yes, out of form.

He has decent fixtures and can still get a goal or two even though 4-2-2-2 is hurting him.

I'd have removed him by now if I had a spare FT but I don't. And taking a hit to remove him ahead of a good fixture makes no sense to me.

Yep same story as towards the end of last season when Dzeko was getting points by the truckload and Aguero was the bridesmade. He isn't likely to pull his price, but at the moment with our team values elevated he seems worth carrying for the time being as it will be easy enough to fit Costa in alongside him for the double. Will probably even keep until GW37 when he moves on for Sturridge assuming they have a double at that time. They still have the fixtures as you mention and he will still have the pens. But when City aren't switching back and forth between the 4222 and 4231 where he is boss he's just not worth the price.

Holding Aguero as there's no one I really want to replace him with. Decent fixture, great player and man city are still scoring well, plus he's on pens.

A lot of the holding him is hoping he comes good but until Girouds blank is done there is no one I would replace him with right now. Plus I want to make other more important transfers.

Listening to LVG's post match comments it sounds as if he'll be playing the 4-3-3 for the foreseeable future and that Mata is nailed on for as long as he is playing well. Van Gaal is talking about having "found the right position" for Mata.

If I had a spare FT he'd be coming into my team immediately. As it is that will have to wait till I wildcard.

Apparently I didn't word it very well. I didn't mean they're a threat to Mata's position but rather that they're a threat to our overall attacking play.

Yes, I agree with that. RVP shouldn't get anywhere near that team. ADM - well a 4-3-3 really suits him, that's where he played so exceptionally for RM. But at the moment United are better with him coming off the bench I'd say. Young gives much more energy.

I'm not so sure. I think ADM will play better on the LW as he'll have more licence to be a free spirit without it adversely affecting the filoshofee. RVP might not be all bad as a lone striker, it was his combination with Falcao which cause us so much trouble.

I hope you're right about RvP. But suffice to say I'm not so optimistic. AdM on the other hand killed every attack today aside from his assist running with the ball like a chicken with its head cut off before inevitably losing it or giving it away with a daft pass. He's poison for the filoshofee.

At least the poison will be lessoned out on the LW. I think LVG will stick with the starting lineup against Villa though. If it aint broke, don't fix it

I can't see him shifting. He is quite pragmatic usually once he gets established at a club.

Cleverest thing he has done is converting Valencia to RB. Whether by luck or judgement. He was never good enough to play as a winger for an elite team. But as a RB he seems to fit in perfectly.

It was a tough choice-Pellegrini, LVG , Monk-there was not much difference between the three

Can't afford it and not sure I'd want my team to go that direction 2b honest. I would like a punt on Sinclair though but no one obvious to replace!

Anyone watch the Southampton game? Was Mane attacking or playing notable deeper with Pele on the pitch? My punt on bringing him in as a differential this week did not work out..

It certainly puts me off bringing him in. He can't be a second striker if there are 2 on the pitch

He did so well last week so it was very surprising and disappointing to se Pele back in the lineup. Not sure how he did though..

Didn't see game but from stats, Pelle hogged shots and Mane's did not increase on his average no. of chances created per game.
Assume it was to have an extra striker against defensive team like Burnley, so I also assume Mane will go back to 2nd striker next match

Thanks. Fingers crossed he moves further up against Everton.

I have Aguero, Giroud and Kane. I captained Aguero but still scored 92 points. If I'd have captained Kane... But 92 points? I'm not complaining!

I've checked on my Aguero captaincy. 12 occasions for 90pts @ 3.75 av score per game. 🙁

If there are no injuries during the international break, save FT?

    Krull, Pantsy
    Ivan, Azpi, Clyne, Schlupp, Naughty
    Sanchez, Haz, Eriksen, Sinclair, Boyd
    Kun, Kane, Austin

    1 FT and 1.3m itb

He's not as good playing alongside Zamora

Admittedly haven't watched them since January, but he used to play better with Zamora. Manager effect?

A number of reasons. QPR and Austin aren't what they used to be

Austin's average points over last 5 matches his seasonal rate.

Maybe I'm just talking about QPR in that case

Really? I don't agree with that assessment. Granted I didn't watch the game today, but I always felt he was by far at his best playing off Zamora. He always lays it off to him superbly with their deep balls always seemed to be at the heart of any chances Austin got during open play since they are utterly incapable of building up an attack through midfield. Whenever I see them without Zamora and no target man for long balls they just look lost and like complete crap going forward.

Put it this way. I'd rather have Zamora right now at 4.1m

I see Barkley is suffering from second season syndrome. So overrated

But it is unusual to suffer that in your 4th season! 😉

(I know, he hardly played first 2 seasons but couldn't resist)

Meh, nit picking. Martinez thought he was worth 50m. Should have sold him when he had the chance. There was a reason Moyes hardly used him

A shame. Seemed to never get into the manager's good graces after the World Cup. I wonder if there wasn't more behind the scenes about him this season that we didn't learn about like some nagging injury or some such thing. He never really got a decent string of starts all year to build up match fitness and get into a rhythm.

Clyne, Fonte and Bertrand combined to get 29 points this weekend.

Triple Southampton is risky but they are good value for those who cannot afford the likes of Ivanovic and Terry.

Thinking of getting K. Davis to add to Clyne/Bertrand.

Doubt it, doesn't follow team no. rules and picks cheapest players when a draw so some quite rare selections. Of course, next week might be the week 🙂
