Double Gameweek 34 Announced for Hull and Liverpool

Hull have this morning confirmed a new date for their home clash against Liverpool, which was previously scheduled for Gameweek 33. The match, which was postponed after the Reds clinched a place in the FA Cup semi-finals last night, will now take place on Tuesday April 28 – meaning both sides will now have a double Gameweek 34.

With Chelsea and Leicester also poised for a double in the same week, Fantasy managers are handed four teams to choose from as they re-assemble their squads.

Liverpool also face a trip to the Hawthorns prior to their KC encounter, though QPR’s hammering of West Brom last weekend suggests few will be deterred from investing in Brendan Rodgers’ main men.

Doubts over Diego Costa’s hamstring injury may have some eyeing up Daniel Sturridge, though the Reds striker has done little to strengthen his case for inclusion – two goals in the last eight Gameweeks, in addition to ongoing hip problems, are hardly convincing. Jordan Henderson has struck four times in the last five league matches and will surely be sought after by many, whilst Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling are also in contention here.

At the back, Martin Skrtel will return from suspension in time for the double, boosting the prospects of a defence that has racked up seven clean sheets in the last 11 Gameweeks.

The Reds then have two very favourable home clashes in three (against QPR and Palace) directly after their double, with a visit to Chelsea sandwiched in between those Anfield encounters.

It’s fair to say that Hull will struggle to justify the investment, though. Granted, Steve Bruce’s side now have four home matches in the final five Gameweeks of the season but one look at the fixtures (cpl & LIV, ARS, BUR, tot, MUN) underlines the tough task at hand – only the visit of Burnley in Gameweek 36 looks promising. Given that they’ve picked up two points in the last five, the Tigers face a tough task ahead, though their spirited display in the 3-2 home defeat by Chelsea in Gameweek 30 suggests it would be unwise to write their main men off completely.

the only thing I don't like this DGW to be so quickly is that I am less likely to go with my punts (Gomis, Marrey, Punch) :/

Thoughts on this WC team? Will use WC before GW 34.

    McGregor* Myhill
    Terry* Moreno* Schlupp* Koscielny* Alder
    Sanchez* Hazard* Coutinho/Sterling* Henderson* Silva
    Giroud* Remy* Kane

Why both of Sanchez and Giroud at home to chelsea? I know they have hull the next match, but keep one of them and buy the other prior to gw35. Arsenal do not have dgw 34.
Not sure about Remy... Costa may be back

Is it worth taking a 4pt hit for a double gameweek player?

And which takes priority Liverpool's attacking players or its defence given the fixtures?

In hindsight you woudl take a hit for Philips, Austin or Benteke in the last DGW all woudl have paid off.

Part fo the fun is taking the odd hit, it's about balancing risk. See it as 2 point hit per DGW player if you get in 2 players, 2.67pts per player of you get in 3 for 8pt hit etc.

Sturridge might be injured by DGW34...

I think the best could be this

    Hazard Silva Fabregas Henderson
    Stuuridge Kane Aguero

Well this looks like decent plan:

    Gw32: Kos & Austin -> Morgan & Remy (2FTs)

    Gw33: Save

    Gw34: Clyne,Sanchez,Kane -> Skrtel, Henderson, Sturridge (-4)

Would give me 7 dgw player

Tinkering with my wildcard can give me this

    Migs. Myhill
    Ivanovic. Terry. Clyne. PvA. Duff
    Hazard. Silva. Coutinho. Henderson. Boyd
    Aguero. Giroud. Kane.

    Thoughts?

    Wildcard Holders**
So what is the ideal team for the DGW? I have a wildcard so planning on stocking up. First WC draft for DGW:

    Schmeichel

    Schlupp / Ivanovic / Moreno

Hazard (C) / Sterling / Fabregas / Diame (if getting games)

    Sturridge / Vardy / Aguero

Bench: (PVA (double coming up), Baird, Ospina, Ozil benched as has Chelsea but great fixtures and double after)

    Thoughts?

      I'm tempted by

      McGregor
      Terry Schlupp Skrtel
      Henderson Hazard Elmohammady Sanchez
      Sturridge Aguero Remy

      Pants, PVA, Boyd, kosc

9 DGWers, with 3 DGW 37ers on the bench.

    So I currently have:
    Ospina, Myhill
    Clichy, Terry, Yoshida, Naughton, Wilson
    Cazorla, Hazard, Eriksen, Delph, Mason
    Kane, Costa, Aguero

Clearly this is a team with issues. I really want to ship out Yoshida, Naughton, Delph, Mason, Aguero, and I still have my WC available.

Do I play it this week, sort my team out, but only leave myself in an average position for the small GW33/double GW 34? Or do I suck it up, do what I can now, maybe take a hit, and then hit the WC in time to absolutely nail GW34? I'm torn...

I think Schmeichel/Panti is the best pairing for anyone who plans to play their WC in GW34. Gives you a DGW keeper for 34 and 37 and doesn't waste a slot on Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool players.
