Mondogoal

Mondogoal – GW36 – The £30,000 Championship Countdown

There are still 26 Qualifying spots available in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship as we build up to the big final day prize.

We’ve seen some new names make the list after recent Qualifying contests, with the likes of “gaztafari” and “StayVibin” earning their places in the final day contest with the chance to win the £10,000 top prize.

Meanwhile, seasoned Mondogoal veterans “taj2722” and “Tm370” have recently claimed their eighth and fourth spots in the contest, respectively. Elsewhere, “Doom”, “Bigo1” and “tomp1900” all lead the way with ten entries.

It’s not too late to claim your place – there are 26 slots remaining with another batch up for grabs in this weekend’s contests.

The £30,000 World Championship

How Does it Work?

To get involved, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests. You can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select your line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obviously increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

If you’re new to Mondogoal and want the inside skinny, be sure to check out our strategy guide here, and our interview with top Mondogoal manager, ChrisDAFC here.

FF Scout Gameweek 36 Picks

mg

With concerns over Chelsea’s level of motivation and teamsheet, we’ve made the bold decision to overlook their assets and, in particular, Eden Hazard.

Not surprisingly, that liberated plenty of funds to invest elsewhere and we’ve spent the bulk of it up front. Sergio Aguero is a shoo-in, given his current run of form, while Olivier Giroud offers us cover of Arsenal’s vibrant attack ahead of their Monday night meeting with Swansea. Romelu Lukaku is our gamble here – we’ve overlooked Christian Benteke in favour of his Everton compatriot as our differential. Everton have won their last four Goodison match-ups and Lukaku’s lively showing at Villa Park last time out is enough for us to back him against a Sunderland side desperate for victories.

The big spend in attack left us light in the middle of our 3-4-3 setup but, in fairness, the pool of talent looks rather limited this week. We were comfortable shopping in the mid-price bracket, drafting in form guys such as Stoke’s Charlie Adam and Leicester wide man Marc Albrighton. David Silva offers us some heavy-hitter assurance, while Jack Grealish gets the nod to compensate for our decision to overlook Benteke against West Ham.

Clean sheets are hard to call at this stage in the season, so we’ve opted to turn to Grealish’s team-mate, Leonardo Bacuna, to offer us some attacking impetus from Tim Sherwood’s cavalier Villa side. Hector Bellerin and Martin Demichellis were the cheapest assured routes into the Arsenal and City defences, respectively. Similarly, we’ve backed the Everton defence via Tim Howard in nets at just 6.0 million: the Toffees have kept four consecutive home clean sheets going into their meeting with the Black Cats.

A reminder that Everton’s encounter with Sunderland is Saturday’s early kick-off and we’ll be able to tweak our Mondogoal XI’s right up until 12.35.

    Good use of 2 FTs?

    Ivan & Sterling -> Vlaar & Sanchez.

    Gives me:

    Schmeichel (Pants)

    What do you all think?

    1. Piggs Boson
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

It's all about the goal threat, which Aguero reigns supreme. I'd be surprised if Benteke can maintain those accuracy and conversion rates.

        • 10 Years

True GB, Aguero is slightly more threatening by looking at those stats but it's close. Those headed goal attempts though!

Benteke's stats are impressive though, and probably edge Aguero. But the key is the opposition imo. QPR is a plum fixture for Kun.

Schlupp imo. I don't anticipate that hendo will do well, in fact I'm considering selling him, but wouldn't there be more potential upside in keeping him? More highly owned, a better, more attacking player playing for a better team (some would argue 😉 - I joke of course). Fixture not great obviously, but you never know.

    My question is:

Whos better to have Giroud or Ramsey or some one else...?? Already have sanchez...

    Team

    :Myhill. Jaku
    .Lovren. Moreno. Bellerin. Alder. Bruce
    .Silva. Sanchez. Haz. Sterling. Boyd
    .Aguero. Kane. Vardy

.Have 2 fts and 0.4 in bnk....

    So this week

:1) Sterling + Vardy >> Sunderland mid + Giroud (for double gw)

    Or

    2) Sterling >> Ramsey..??

No mate, I'm trying to work out the viability of various ways in which I can get my Arsenal assets in. That particularly hypothetical was based on a certain scenario in which I would be bringing Sanchez in, but one of the above 3 would have to play.

    Terry Moreno Schlupp Yun Upson

The obvious route would be Moreno out for someone who will be useful enough for last 3 games. Already have 3 Ars and have 0 Sun players. ALso would like to save some cash if possible.

Currently thinking of Vlaar, PVA, Alderewireld, Collins... not sure what to do.

Bye bye Hazard, thanks for the points but it's time to go on holiday, I won't captain you again, Liverpool won't concede many to you, West Brom might park the bus and you might not even play that and while I expect you to do well against Sunderland, I shall be captaining Benteke.

I'm fairly sure he will get rested for at least one game too, so Haz -> Arsenal mid could basically get you 4 games instead of 2... Thoughts?
