Abdi at 3.5m in midfield looks like a great enabler if he's nailed on.
9 goals in 32 Championship games last season.
I just check him out on Transfermarkt. He doesn't seem entirely nailed on. He wasn't included in the squad about 10 times. With limited transfers I'd want guaranteed starts.
We'll have to check with some Watford fans(like AppleBonkers) but I think he was injured at some stages in the season.

Also, do any previous Sky players have a general rule set for setting up their team? Like only certain prices midfielders etc.
Lots of articles coming out addressing this issue etc but in general you need to have flexibility yes.

I've looked back at your articles from last year, so I've started with Aguero + Costa and my GK + DEF is fairly cheap. But I'm struggling to get a decent midfield.
Yeah generally cheap at the back but not too cheap so you ship goal upon goal (-1 every time)

There is usually a gem under the 4.0 marker in defense.

Finished 352nd last year and generally played 343 with 2 cheap defenders and one mid priced option e.g. bertrand last year
Can you explain the rules (As in how do points work) and how they differ from FPL?

With the gap between points for assists and goals being smaller than FPL, is Fabregas over Hazard a better choice? Especially as Fabregas will pick up more bonus points.
Hazard makes up for that in MoTM's but both are fantastic options

Nice one.The hunt has started for cheap defenders... Coates looks ok.... Need 3 of the buggers though.
Currently I'm on C. Dawson, Bassong + Coates. Schmeichel in goal.
My first stab had Ruddy, Whittiker, Francis and Coates, but I'll be changing that I think as it's just too pound shop.

Yes but I think players like Cesc, Ramsey & Yaya that benefit from both goals and assists as well as passing bonus are gold.
Yes - when fit Ramsey is basically god
Worth noting as well, that Fabregas also has a high number of recoveries. He's gold in UFPL, with the points you made as well.

Captaincy strategy for the first few weeks:
GW1 - Hazard (SWA) and Mane (new)
GW2 - Mane (EVE) and Hazard (mci)
GW3 - Hazard (wba) and Giroud (LIV)
GW4 - Giroud (new) and Rooney (swa) or Mane (NOR)
Like it... although the missing Aguero might be an issue later on...

Silva over Toure if you can - he gets passing bonus nearly the same as Yaya (12 pts less) but is a MoTM magnet!
Interesting, thanks! Yaya was on the basis that I thought he might be a good bet for tackles as well as passes, but Silva is someone I'm definitely more comfortable having in my team long term.
What do you think of the overall structure? General consensus seems to be to avoid premium defenders entirely?
Toure got 0 bonus from tackling all season (lazy so and so) .
Yes expensive defenders are generally not worth it but do provide safe picks
Terry will get 160 points roughly for example as he has done consistently but for 7.9m
Bertrand got 125 for 5.1m.
Finding those players gives you the cash to make big improvements to attack but of course are alot harder to find

Haven't planned out my captain choices yet. Bentaleb's in there because he's cheap and for the bonus'.
Was looking at Bentaleb. Gets a bit of bonus does he? Whats your thougths on choosing a keeper? Rest of your team looks great
I wanted one who makes a high about of saves (2 points per 5 saves) and wouldn't concede too many goals (-1 each) and decently defensively.
Bentaleb - 14th highest player for total bonuses, and he had limited minutes. Cheap and will get a lot of bonus points.
a max of 2 pts though even if they get 100 saves

Just looking at the GW2 to 3 captain turnover. Only Palace and Bournemouth play on Sunday/Monday GW2 & Saturday GW3.
There is the Arsenal - Liverpool game on Monday of GW3 though, so you can have a Man City or Chelsea captain for Sunday GW2 then Sunday GW3.

Considered Kayoute myself, but Bilic has highlighted Obiang as a box to box, and that should mean tackles, potentially passes versus the weaker posession teams and also hopefully the odd goal/assist.
at that price, happy to move him on for any upcoming star though...
as you say not a lot on at present... do Like Albrighton but he seems ripe for Ranieri to randomly drop.

You think Milner is a better option than Hendo?
The 0.4 makes a difference to me and I was swayed by the fact Milner in limited appearances got 120 points v Hendon 167... I think Milner might pick up early MOM's as people love the hard working English centre mid.. Yes I know that's the exact thing Hendo is as well, but I think Milner might just shade it.. both good picks IMO though..
depends how Pool play too, but possession and tackling bonus should come his way a fair bit I'd think.
Fair enough. Hendo on pens (i think?) sways it for me and the fact he is captain and a certain starter.
That said Milner will almost certainly start and is a good option as well, especially as he's cheaper.

Is this hypothetical situation possible?
Saturday: Hazard aready set capt from previous week
Sunday: no players playing
Tuesday: change capt to Aguero (who plays Saturday)
Saturday evening : change capt to Hazard (who plays Sunday)
The Tuesday and Saturday capt changes would take place in different GWs, even though they affect just one GW, right?
Thats fine.. but yip'd in theory be missing out on a captain as your first weekend you'd only one when you COULD use 2.

This definitely could happen... and you could do it.
If there were games on the first Sunday though, avoiding moving the captain to these would mean you don't take advantage (Which by the way is not always a bad thing).
You need to get your head out of Gameweeks like FPL, as they are actual weeks, so you basically get a captain change every 7 days... whether there is a game or not, so when it comes to midweek games, there can be 4 different days of games (Sat/Sun, TUes/Weds) and still only 1 captain switch.

Like it... Whats your first round captain plan? Hazard to start then to whom? (there doesn't have to be one by the way just wondered if there was)
Im still not sure on the opening weekend - fixtures are really awkward.
At the moment its Hazard > Ramsey then keep it on him for the Palace game. Then use my GW2 switch to get it on Rooney and set myself up for GW3. Not ideal but my other plan involves a couple of transfers early doors, which isn't great either.
What's your plan?

well unless its a special measure for the first week (its been done before) they have just ballsed it up. Gameweek rules would need changing.....
Game weeks are Friday-Thursday so is correct as stated I believe.
Haven't ever played this game, first RMT.. Team put together based on a quick look of their rules, early planning on the captain rotation and what I've read here.. 🙂

How important is saving transfers? (1st season playing)
I have Kane in my initial team but I'm considering starting with Lukaku/Costa then switching after GW1

Looks decent... only thing I would consider is that you have 4 big hitters in 2 teams,Unlike FPL, with captain swaps you need a larger variety to benefit from the saturday/sunday/monday games.
That being said Cazorla is also a decent shout and maybe a slight differential.
IF you wanted you could switch Costa for, say Rooney to maximise it more.
With my limited knowledge - Cazorla looks a golden pick - I saw that Disable said above how Ramsey is great whenever he is fit but Cazorla's points per appearance is quite a bit better for last season and he is probably more nailed on (same price)
