The ScoutCast – Episode 170 – Bingo

Forget two fat ladies, in ScoutCast Bingo it’s all about three men with paunches chatting Fantasy Football fortunes, rattling out a few familiar clichés along the way.

Thanks to Numb’s witty community contribution, this week’s episode finds us gripping our dabbers in preparation for mispronunciations, dropped connections and a regular helping of “blimeys”.

Around those fun and games, we tackle the serious matters – assessing the merits of Sergio Aguero, Callum Wilson’s replacements and my range of Christmas jumpers.

All those hard-hitting issues are addressed via another round of community questions, following on from our review of Gameweek 7 as Granville fights the urge to gloat having opened up a 40 point lead over yours truly.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full Google Hangout on the larger player below.

Not sure about Gabriel's attacking returns yet but he's nailed on and only £4.9m. Nacho and Hector are also good options but I think Bellerin edges it.

I'd do Gabriel at that price... Worth dropping into my team? Any other suggestions?

          Myhill, De Gea
          Sagna, Evans, Davies (Hangeland, Francis)
          KDB(c), Sanchez, Mata, Mahrez (Watson)
          Aguero, Martial, Igahlo

Dier, Alderweireld, and Davies are all good options. I'd go for Alderweireld to save 0.1m or Davies depending on the rest of your team.

This is a good four-way rotation for anyone on a WC like me: Kolarov/Williams/Gabriel/Nyom. Kolarov is self-explanatory, Williams has quite decent fixtures and Gabriel is nailed and a cheap route into Arsenal's defence. Whenever you have to drop at least one of them which imo could be GWs 8, 11, and 14, Nyom has good fixtures. He also has good GW 10 and 12 fixtures where you might also choose to drop one from those 3.

Koscielny is out for 3 weeks with a hamstring injury. Per will start until then but I'm 90% sure Per will be the one to lose his place in the end and not Gabriel. Looked poor against Leicester and when he came on against Olympiacos.

I've already got Bellerin so will stick with him, but Gabriel looks good value in that case.

Anybody else considering giving the armband to David Silva to shake things up!!

Match Preview: David Silva netted five goals in the PL against #NUFC (in 10 apps), more than he has managed against any other side.

I would have given it to KdB/Yaya but with Silva back in the team I think you have to back Agüero. He's struggled without Silva in the team.

Someone included an Aguero stat around week 4 or 5. Silva was not playing that week and in 22 matches all competitions Aguero had:

        22 - Goals
        7 - Assists

when Silva didn't play. I used my triple captain that week. 6 points total Master Sergio brought me.

Evening all, been on holiday the past week so feeling a bit out the loop with injury news etc and after a bit of advice with my FT -

    Myhill / Butland
    Kolarov / Azpi / Richards / Whittaker / Gomez*
    Alexis / Payet / Yaya* / Mahrez / Westwood
    Kun / Gomis* / Diouf

    1.6m ITB

I want Gomez & Gomis out for sure but I think Gomez can wait a week or two, Yaya seems to be a doubt so what move to make this week?

    1. Parm
      • 12 Years
      8 years, 8 months ago

      Hi Jimmy.

I'd wait and see what Pellegrini says this week on Yaya Touré, if it doesn't sound promising then a transfer to de Bruyne/Silva depending on your preference looks like a good idea.

Alongside that, Gomis to Sakho or even Martial looks like a profitable transfer, even for a hit should you need to do the Yaya Touré transfer. Gomis and Swansea have looked a little lost since the United victory, and Spurs' defence looks promising so i'd be inclined to see this continue.

Gomez can wait until next week, where it seems ideal to get in Janmaat for him, providing you have the funds.

Cheers Parm, I've been considering Pelle from next week as my Gomis replacement. Not sure on a West Ham double up with Sakho. If Yaya is out I'll move him along this week.

Ah, I didn't see Payet at first glance. I like Pellé, even this week against a vulnerable Chelsea defence or Martial, in form against a Koscielny-less Arsenal defence vulnerable on the counter attack.

I'd like to have one of de Bruyne or Silva long term(I have de Bruyne). Sánchez is finding his feet so may be worth his hefty price tag. I like to change that four mid slot (alongside MCI, Mahrez & Sánchez) depending on your third forward's pricing.

There's this great script a well-known poster on another forum by the name of 'nickchild' made that displays team data on the league page in FPL. I'm unsure if I can link this forum, so this is his post:

'" From the league page in FPL it adds the following data to the table for each team:
    - Live GW score
    - Live total score (including any transfer hits for the GW)
    - GW captain (and vice-captain on rollover)
    - Team value
    - Bank funds
    - Total value (team + bank)
    - Total transfers
    - GW transfers
    - GW transfers points hit
    - Wildcard availability
    - Associated H2H league position (see below)
    - Starting XI and bench (see below)
    - Playing stats (rollover to show who has played, yet to play, didn't play, plus number of games remaining in the case of a double GW)
    - Chips - shows which chips have been played with an alert if one is active for the current GW)
    - Quick picks - quickly select a default data set (see below)

Each of these values can easily be turned on or off using a panel below the league. There are also shortcuts to turn all options on/off as well as two quick picks; one for 'Live Data' which is best used as soon as a GW goes live (shows captain, live points, playing stats and chip info) and the other for 'Team Info' which is best used once all games are complete and the build up to the next GW has started (transfer stats, wildcard and chip info and team/bank value).

You can sort the table by clicking any of the column headers.

You can see the starting XI and bench for each team by clicking on the corresponding position movement indicator (far left arrow icon). Click on the column header to show all teams squads. You can hover over each player here to see their current GW score.

The 'Associated H2H league position' is calculated by looking for a H2H league name that starts the same as the current league. For example, 'XXXX' League has a H2H named the same, I am also in another league with an associated H2H - '£10 league option' which maps to '£10 league option:H2H'.

If you think you might find this useful, you will need the Firefox add-on 'Greasemonkey' or 'Tampermonkey' on Chrome. Once this is enabled you can install the script by clicking the following link:

    https://openuserjs.org/install/nickchild/FPL_get_team_info.user.js "

Igahlo for me. Any comment on my team?

I'd do Gabriel at that price... Worth dropping into my team? Any other suggestions?

        Myhill, De Gea
        Sagna, Evans, Davies (Hangeland, Francis)
        KDB(c), Sanchez, Mata, Mahrez (Watson)
        Aguero, Martial, Igahlo

          Suggested changes:

          - de Gea to Hennessy, purely for cash saving purposes.

          - I'd be wary of Sagna long term as Zabaleta is only a week or so away. Might be better looking elsewhere or upgrading to Kolarov. Without Kompany/Mangala the defence as a unit looks a lot shakier.

          - Davies may not be nailed on long-term, prefer Alderweireld from the Spurs defence although i'm unwilling to invest in it at the moment as the fixtures aren't that great.

          - Hangeland doesn't seem nailed on either with Delaney expected back after the international break. Go Souaré if you still want to invest in Palace defence, but I like Cathcart in Watford's defence, if they keep this up he looks set for bonus points too.

          - Wanyama over Watson, more nailed on.

          - Don't like the United double up given the fixtures. But I don't blame you. Look at Pellé/Mané if you want to replace Martial/Mata.

Should have enough for Vardy now. 😛

        Hi!
Have you got any response yet elsewhere?

Otherwise I will give you a short one.

He looked good and fresh, although you could see him not being fully fit. He really needed to play that game in order to get up to football speed. Nice toches with the ball and as always a magician, but only at 60-70% energy. Found his team mates and gave good passes and opportunities to them. Got subbed off after +60 min because he wasn't yet fully fit.

        Good enough? 🙂

The ticker will tell you that Liverpool have the worst fixtures going but Sturridge is such an exceptional footballer. I can't believe the composure he has shown in the last couple of weeks after barely seeing a football for 18 months.

I think as there is so much money washing around people are more inclined to guard against an injury than concern themselves with 0.2.

Is there a right time to use the AoA chip?

Your team will tell you. All you are doing is playing your weakest attacker over your 3rd defender.

This week would be appropriate, right ?

Rondon looks the weakest. If you think he can outscore Francis/Jenks but a bit then why not. It's not the greatest chip.

Not a "right " time really. The other chips all have the potential of getting you benefits in DGW's. There are 2 occasions in my opinion when the AOA is useful. When your defensive rotation doesn't work for a week but your 8th attacker is ok. (I think this may be the case for me in GW 12) Or just when you beleive your 8th mid will outscore your 3rd def.

You could. Hoolahan could likely do well. I would probably just play it as you have it as I think your defenders could all do well

When either you only have two playing defenders or where you see you 5th mid out scoring one of your defenders

    Hey DZ

Just woken up in the middle of my sleep to see Sterling is going down. He's my next planned transfer anyway, is it worth taking him out for a hit to save the 0.1. I've already lost that on him before

Nice front 8 for this GW, you'll have to wait on Yaya news which might make this call easier
