The Big Numbers – Midfielders – Last Four Gameweeks

After delving into the Gameweek 5-8 data for Defenders yesterday afternoon, we now set our sights on the midfielders. Arsenal’s in-form duo arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over City and West Ham’s summer signings and analyse the recent displays of Southampton’s wide men as the fixtures turn in their favour.

Which of the Liverpool players do you think will become a fantsay prospect under Klopps style? I think it will still be Studs ahead of Benteke. Maybe Firmino will get a boost too.

Yea, one altercation about a rightfully disallowed goal, but such a god awful match. Two late goals, ljajic stepped up. Really boring to watch, wasted 2 hours.

Ivanovic and Matic got injured tho.

Hey all, what are some good options for defenders 5m or less? (Lower the better)
I'm looking to get a cheaper defense in order to fund better moves in midfield later.

    Currently have: Cedric(will keep) - Dawson(keep) - Azpi(good riddance) - Taylor(willing to change) Kolorov(give him a few weeks)

Looking into the likes of: Nyom, Ward*, Huth, Davies, Martin etc..

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

Anyone fancy Silva with KDB looking so good for 3 of 4 games when he didn't play (and Silva picking up 2 assists last weekend)?

Hmm, that's what has been in my mind for the last few days, essential transfer. But Silva doesn't seem to be in any of the stock fantasy line ups, no one high in my ml has got him. Just a thought...

Both are great players no doubt, but from a fantasy football point of view KDB is likely to score a lot more goals than Silva and so is the better player to have. Both should get plenty of assists.

KDB didnt score that many last season, it was almost all assists.

He does score more goals than Silva generally though doesn't he, more known for goals than Silva, though both score plenty of assists. He already has a few after only a couple of matches.

No doubt but I think people are writing Silva off too early. It's a unanimous decision based off a couple of games. Silva has looked awesome when he has played, he's missed 3 games in between through injury and still been epic. Time will tell when he has a regular run.

Silva is quality, one of the best players in England. But KDB looks more lively in front of goal. If Silva has one fault it's that he doesn't often take a shot on, whereas KDB will take a shot. Only time will tell who is better but I think and hope both have brilliant seasons.

True, good thinking. It's just that Silva would be a strange player to class as a differential! Both on about 11% ownership (KDB - players/Silva - casuals). Undoubtedly I will be bringing KDB in this week but would just be gutted to see him go quiet...

im keeping silva, he has looked really good and is making plenty runs into the box. the argument is KDB is more direct but i saw a lot of potential in silva vs newcastle.

Silva had a great season last season. He is class. Am aware that a bucket load of new players this season have started well and then settled into their usual, Silva is tried and tested, will KDB keep it up?

      2. The Pep Revolution

Both are great options and should finish high on the midfielders chart at the end of the season.

Silva is guaranteed to produce the goods consistently throughout a full season, with KDB we don;t know that yet. Yes, he has looked amazing so far, but so did Di Maria. With Silva you know what you get.

          1. The Pep Revolution
            • 12 Years
            8 years, 8 months ago

That's true. As a City fan I really hope KDB keeps it up for the season but no guarantees. Silva perhaps may be the safest option in that regard. But like with the Newcastle match, it could be the case that where one does well, the other will do well also.

That's my current midfield, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez, Silva, Tadic. it is definitely possible(replacing Mahrez and Tadic) but would require cut backs elsewhere which may also be difficult to unwind.

Terry is the worst culprit of the lot, closely followed by Ivanovic.

Legs have gone now, he's a liability. Mou needs to be brave and drop both of them. Time to move on.

Yeah i thought it was a bad move by sepp blatter and FIFA increasing number of teams in the comp. However seeing the excitement from fans of teams of smaller countries like Ireland tonight who rarely qualify, it might be one if the only good things he did in his time.

Not sure. I think it devalues qualification. 18 months to reduce the teams by just over 50% will only further trivialise qualifiers. Imho, it's a power grab by Uefa.

There's gonna be two sides of the fence and I can see both arguments. Tonight I'm favouring the move but will see how it plays out in the long run.

Football governing bodies will always foster corruption while the system operates on a 1 member - 1 vote system. It allows the smaller countries to outvote the bigger ones. For the bigger nations, a larger tournament is of no benefit and the dilution, debalues it. For weaker nations, it doubles their qualifying chances so any dilution effects are dramatically outweighed by the increased chance of qualifying. A fairer system requires a move to weight the votes towards the larger countries.

            Indeed, go Bruins.

Feel for the Pirates today though. 98 wins this season and yet another one and done in the playoffs.

A bit like Peyton Manning really.

Red wings fan here, but very excited to see the new Pittsburgh line up, gonna cause havoc everywhere anytime.
Also have a soft spot for Oilers as they were magnificent when I grew up and Connor McD seems to be the real deal.

          Got no one playing tonight.

Trying to wangle a trade for Brady but the guys playing hardball wanting Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald.

I'm trying to see if he'll take Palmer and Brandin Cooks for TB112.

Sad, I got Cooks in the 3rd round but he's done jack all so far.

Whoever has DeAndre Hopkins should be in for a good night.

            Yeah, I do actually.

The Colts should have lost to the Jags but their idiot kicker contrived to twice miss an easy field goal at the end of regulation on Sunday.

But Houston are poor and Indy should have enough offense even without Luck to score enough points. Hasselback is a pretty decent backup QB.

Foster's first game of the season so not sure how sharp he'll be if he starts.

I would have thought casuals only do transfers on Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon for the following week.
Midweek transfers implies some sort of greater interest.
