The ScoutCast – Episode 172 – Fuzzy

We take Fantasy Football seriously. So much so, myself, Granville and Jonty find time each week to join up online and natter semi-aimlessly about it. Some of you even go so far to watch and listen. We all take Fantasy Football that seriously.

That’s why we dedicate this episode of the ScoutCast to Fuzzy Warbles, whose passion for Fantasy Football drove him to scribe a long letter to the Premier League. In doing so, he raised his head above the parapet to gain the attention from the mainstream press and various Twitterati.

Predictably, that attention was somewhat confused as to why someone would care so much about a few points to muster an 800-word email.

We know why.

The three of us are more than happy to waste more words discussing “CedricGate”, the catalyst for Fuzzy’s irritation.

Before that, we analyse Gameweek 9, discuss the contrasting fortunes of Jamie Vardy, Anthony Martial and Eden Hazard, plus assess the Gameweek 11 fixture swing. We may have a few chuckles along the way, but we’re taking it very seriously.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. You can view the full version on the larger movie player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

People dissing Wijnaldum as a one week wonder seem to have failed to notice his assist at Man city the week before and his goal v Chelsea the week before that. His fixtures have been shocking but are now getting much better. Seems some don't like form OR fixtures 🙄

I agree, he was actually on my watchlist before the Manchester City game but after that GW I went for Sadio Mané instead. (better statistics)

Really good pick KWR...Don't worry plenty will follow you soon.

I couldn't decide between Ozil and him...in the end I went for Ozil because I had the other in UFPL...

Well he is a one week wonder in a sense, like Tadic last year he's highly unlikely to bring in a haul like the one we've just seen. But at the same time he's a good pick if you're not expecting that week in week out, should keep ticking over with these upcoming fixtures

But, but how many shots/touches in the box does he have? I dont care about fpl points i care about how threating he looks without the actual final product.

From what I seen of Europe, Lukaku on bench and Mane in 3-5-2 is the way forward and The Machine (c).

So earlier I posted about how I thought all the games starting at the same time would give us a better chance for benching.

Clearly I was wrong, as I got a lot of bad feedback! I wasn't aware of the deadline, as Im from Canada and one game starts at 7:45 am usually. So always have my team ready the night before. I assumed you had time before the games and it would close as the first game started. Thanks for the corrections.

As for my grav, don't cross me..? No? Dont cost me? Both suit..Lol sad having to explain a grav..anyway, thanks for the heads up on deadlines.

Aha yea I went to look back at replies and I didn't expect that!

Either way, now I know there is a set deadline, saves me from waiting till Saturday morning to find out I can't change anything!

Read my earlier post. But I basically assumed you had until the first match started to make changes, and because there was no early match would make it easier to figure out who will be starting (hazard for example). Found out there was a set deadline though, so doesn't matter! Now I know.

Yeah, same starting times for all games would be impossible, primarily because of TV rights.

Not all games, just a bunch instead of the regular 1 that starts early.

Thinking about it now, it makes sense because games do change sometimes, and having a set time is easier to manage.

UCL fantasy works differently, only reason I though it would give us the chance to see if certain players would be starting to make final changes.

The difference the Aguero money makes is ridiculous. Headache inducing draft GW11 wildcard:

    DDG, Hennessey
    Coleman, Monreal, Zouma, Moreno, Francis
    Sanchez, KDB, Mata, Barkley, Mahrez
    Pelle, Lukaku, Vardy

3-5-2 rotation without even needing a cheap striker...

And what's the plan to get Kun back when he's fit? Downgrade Sanchez or KDB?

Probably won't go with the funds this well spread when I do wildcard. Probably have it so Pelle + Lukaku > Aguero + Ayoze/Ighalo works.

Makes sense. My only concern is spending that much on Zouma. A clean sheet against Villa doesn't convince me they've turned the corner, and there will always be a little bit of rotation risk. But it might be a punt worth a shot. Bertrand or Phil Jones might be safer.

Ighalo or Martial out for Vardy? Whoever stays will be a benched this week and probably for the next few weeks.

Leaning towards getting rid of Ighalo and benching Martial. I don't need the money elsewhere and at least i will have the option of playing Martial for his good run of fixtures.

    Thoughts?

Anyone else finding it hard to get in place some good defensive rotations for the weeks to come?

Very limited amount of cheapie options for GW11 and 13, and Spurs only has that plum GW11 fixture before it gets tough. Rolling with three expensive from Eve/Ars/Mun/Sou the way to go forward until Aguero funds are needed?

    1. Harper (No more Penandes)

Just go for the best defenders, price no question at the moment. Good to get maximum team value while Aguero is out. Coleman/Bellerin/Janmaat/Moreno/Davies is mine but I want a Saints Def too. Likely gonna struggle when Kun's fit again.

Personally I prefer to invest but just keep an easy 2 transfers in mind to fund it and don't spread the money too thin across your squad. I was intending to hold hazard for that reason and downgrade to fund aguero but he is proving too useless which has ruined that plan

Manchester United's fixtures after the derby.

Crystal Palace (A) - Clean sheet potential.
West Brom (H) - Clean sheet potential.
Watford (A) - Clean sheet potential.
    Leicester (A)
    West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (A) - Clean sheet potential.
Norwich (H) - Clean sheet potential.
Stoke (A) - Clean sheet potential.

Prices of defender. (In order of preference)
    1) Smalling - 6.3
    2) Darmian - 5.8
    3) Jones - 5.2
    4) Rojo - 5.4

    Price of De Gea? 5.5

If you are looking for a CS potential for United De Gea is your best bet only valued at 5.5. Even though he has NO attacking threat he is fairly cheap for someone with good fixtures. The ball is in your court but I would go for De Gea if you want a United defender.

Which 2 (inc. 1 defender) would you play next week :-

    a> Darmian

This is leading on from my previous question on the page, would you prefer to have a great 5th mid/3rd striker and risk benching points or having a cheap 5th mid/3rd striker that you only play ifhe has a great fixture or someone is injured?

The 2nd is better if you can afford it without weakening the defence.

I have a solid front 8 and hate benching one. I would go for a cheap one when I have transfers

Depends on which players are playing well or injured. My 3 strikers were Kun, Pelle, Gomis 2 weeks ago, now all my midfield is expensive with Ighalo a cheap 3rd striker.
