The Watchlist Updated – Gameweek 11 – The Defence

On the back of Gameweek 10, which saw Man United and West Brom collect further clean sheets, and Leicester and Sunderland pick up their first shut-outs of the campaign, we’re rolling out the first of our Watchlist articles, which offer player recommendations for the next four-to-six Gameweeks. With form and fixtures aligning perfectly, Arsenal’s defensive assets are on the rise, while the goal threat of Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk is certainly catching our eye.

GOALKEEPERS

With three clean sheets in his last four appearances, and with the upcoming fixture list (cpl, WBA, wat, lei, WHM, bou) very favourable, Man United’s David de Gea climbs all the way to the top of our ladder. The former Atletico Madrid keeper, available at 5.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), is living up to his price tag at the moment, and looks an outstanding option for the coming period.

Another “heavy hitter” on the rise is Arsenal’s Petr Cech, who has registered five shut outs so far this season. The 5.6-priced stopper faces the most favourable upcoming schedule (swa, TOT, wba, nor, SUN, avl) for clean sheets over the next six Gameweeks, according to our Season Ticker, and, like de Gea, looks worthy of the extra outlay at this juncture of the season.

On the back of another lacklustre Chelsea display at West Ham, Asmir Begovic sees his stock fall slightly this week. The Bosnian’s 5.0 price tag in FPL is still likely to attract suitors, while the next six matches for the champions (LIV, sto, NOR, tot, BOU, lei) should offer up some strong opportunities for clean sheets. With Jose Mourinho’s side struggling so badly during the opening months of the season, though, it’s hard to fully trust any of their Fantasy assets.

Joe Hart keeps his place towards the top of our rankings after collecting another clean sheet in the Manchester derby. Whether the England keeper represents the best way to use one of our three Man City slots remains open for debate, but with the next six fixtures for Manuel Pellegrini’s men (NOR, avl, LIV, SOT, sto, SWA) pretty favourable, the 5.7-valued Hart should continue to rack up the points for his 21% ownership in FPL.

Having recovered from a back injury to face Liverpool, Southampton’s Maarten Stekelenburg is back in our thoughts in our latest update. The Dutch international should benefit from a very favourable run of fixtures for the Saints (BOU, sun, STO, mci, AVL, cpl) and, setting us back only 5.0 in FPL, should attract some investment over the next few weeks.

With Everton’s difficult start to the campaign now behind them, Tim Howard keeps climbing up our ladder. The fixture list over the next six Gameweeks (SUN, whm, AVL, bou, CPL, nor) is very favourable, so the 5.1-rated USA international, who has already managed shut-outs against Southampton, Tottenham and Swansea, looks a solid option in the mid-price bracket.

Although Tottenham’s fixtures (AVL, ars, WHM, CHE, wba, NEW) aren’t as kind as the likes of Everton’s and Southampton’s, Hugo Lloris is another mid-price option who appears worthy of consideration. The France international has seen his cost rise to 5.1 in FPL this week, and with Spurs looking a much improved defensive unit this term, the former Lyon keeper should be a reliable option between the sticks.

One budget keeper who continues to bring in the defensive returns is Watford’s Heurelho Gomes. The Brazilian international chalked up his fourth shut-out of the campaign at Stoke last weekend, and while the Hornets’ fixtures over the upcoming period (WHM, lei, MUN, avl, NOR, sun) are mixed, the 4.6-valued keeper certainly looks one of the most consistent options available to Fantasy managers in the budget price range.

Sunderland’s Costel Pantilimon (4.8) returns in our latest refresh, having picked up his first clean sheet of the season against Newcastle on Sunday. It may have been slightly fortuitous, with the Magpies the far superior side before Fabricio Coloccini’s sending off, but with signs that Sam Allardyce is already making the Black Cats harder to break down, the Romania international is starting to become a viable option in goal. Sunderland also face some favourable home fixtures in their next six (eve, SOT, cpl, STO, ars, WAT).

While he may be the highest scoring keeper so far this season in FPL with 57 points, West Brom’s Boaz Myhill falls all the way to the bottom of our rankings with the Baggies upcoming schedule over the next six Gameweeks (LEI, mun, ARS, whm, TOT, liv) particularly treacherous. The Wales international is actually the most transferred in goalkeeper this week in FPL with over 13,000 new owners, though the 4.8-rated stopper may have to mainly rely on save points over that testing period.

DEFENDERS

Keeping his position on top of our defenders ladder is Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, despite only managing two points in the Gunners 2-1 win against Everton in Gameweek 10. Ahead of the aforementioned favourable run of fixtures over the next few weeks, the Spaniard has attracted over 41,000 new owners so far this week in FPL, seeing his price rise to 5.9. With his attacking raids down the right flank a key part of the Arsenal attack, Bellerin looks primed to register returns at both ends of the pitch.

Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk is our big climber this week, with the centre-back offering a significant threat from set-pieces. The Dutch international has registered five goal attempts over the last four Gameweeks, with four coming from inside the box, and combined with a reasonable chance of defensive returns, given the Saints’ favourable fixture list (BOU, sun, STO, mci, AVL, cpl), the 5.5-priced defender undoubtedly holds plenty of upside. His meagre 1% ownership in FPL also makes him a huge differential, only further enhancing his appeal.

Seamus Coleman keeps his place towards the top of our rankings, despite the Toffees having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four matches. The Republic of Ireland international has only had two goal attempts and created one chance since returning from injury, but with his attacking threat expected to increase against lesser opposition, the 5.9-valued right-back should be able to provide attacking returns over the coming period.

Following his return to first-team action against Man United, Aleksandar Kolarov moves up a couple of spots this time around. With Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta both fit, and Gael Clichy close to returning from an ankle injury, the Serbian is a slight rotation risk, but with his attacking potential from left-back and likely defensive returns from the next six matches (NOR, avl, LIV, SOT, sto, SWA), the 6.1-rated defender looks worth holding on to by his sizeable 27% ownership in FPL.

A new face on the Watchlist this week is Leicester’s Jeffrey Schlupp, who comes onto our radars because of his out-of-position potential. The Ghana international has been pushed forward to an attacking role on the left for the Foxes in recent weeks, while he also ended Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace in the number ten role, and leads all defenders for goal attempts over the last four Gameweeks, with nine. While there are no guarantees Claudio Ranieri will keep playing the 5.0-priced defender in a more advanced position, the fixtures in the short-term (wba, WAT, new) in particular perhaps warrant a gamble being taken on Schlupp.

It may come as a slight surprise that Chris Smalling is the second highest scoring defender in FPL with 51 points, given he is still yet to open his account for the campaign. Nonetheless, with clean sheets being racked up at Old Trafford, the England international certainly looks worthy of some consideration for our five-man backlines, although his 6.4 price tag in FPL will perhaps be too high for some to stomach.

While Newcastle’s rearguard shows little sign of improvement, the attacking potential of Daryl Janmaat means he doesn’t fall too far down our ladder. The 4.9-valued right-back has created eight chances over the last four Gameweeks, second among defenders, and has a reasonable run of fixtures (STO, bou, LEI, cpl, LIV, tot), particularly in the short-term, to provide good value at the back.

The other leading chance creator over recent weeks has been Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno. The former Sevilla defender has provided 10 key passes in his last four outings, and while clean sheets could be hard to come by, given the difficulty of the Reds’ upcoming schedule (che, CPL, mci, SWA, new, WBA), a 4.7 price tag looks something of a bargain based on his attacking potential alone.

Similar to his Chelsea team-mate Begovic, Kurt Zouma is a faller this week with the general malaise at Stamford Bridge showing few signs of coming to an end. The 5.5-rated defender played at right-back at West Ham, and could benefit from the license to push forward should he continue in that position. Given their lack of form, though, investing in any member of the Chelsea backline at this point looks something of a gamble.

Tottenham’s Eric Dier is a slight riser in our latest refresh, with the England U21 international restored in the double-pivot at Bournemouth having served his one-match suspension. The 5.2-priced defender has found the back of the net twice this season, and with the afore-mentioned run of fixtures (AVL, ars, WHM, CHE, wba, NEW) ahead for Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the next month or so, Dier holds reasonable potential at either end of the pitch.

Having registered his third assist of the campaign in West Ham’s 2-1 victory against Chelsea, Aaron Cresswell is back in our thoughts. The Hammers haven’t kept a clean sheet since the 2-0 win against Newcastle in Gameweek 5, though, so while the former Ipswich man can deliver attacking points, he’ll need to start getting more shut-outs if he is to prove worthy of his 5.6 price tag in FPL. The fixture list over the next six Gameweeks (wat, EVE, tot, WBA, mun, STO) should enable Slaven Bilic’s men to get back on track at the back.

With Crystal Palace generally looking solid in defence barring the 3-1 defeat to West Ham when they were reduced to 10-men for much of the match, Scott Dann clings onto the final spot in our rankings. The forthcoming fixtures for the Eagles (MUN, liv, SUN, NEW, eve, SOT) only throw up two favourable match-ups, against Sunderland and Newcastle, but with his duel threat from set-plays and through bonus points, having accrued seven so far this season, the 5.1-valued centre-back remains a viable option for FPL bosses.

£1.1m is a big difference between Howard + Jones and DDG + Coleman. I wonder if the latter is worth it for the goal threat, considering Jones does actually have a bit himself anyway? I guess there's the security from injury/rotation to consider too, but i'm still not sure (despite being drawn to DDG and Coleman).

I have Butland but don't fancy him for many of their upcoming fixtures, so thought now was a good time to replace Ruddy with a number 1 until Christmas.

I'll have a look at Spurs, and it's hard to ignore Saints isn't it! Thanks.

Atm = the last 18 months. He lets in so many weak efforts, if it's on target it has a good chance of beating him, he seems to dive out of the way of the ball half the time.

plus he has more errors leading to goals in that time than nay other keeper from the top 5 European leagues.

Does he? That doesn't surprise me.

I said in pre-season many times that our keeper situation would be, along with centre back, our huge problem this season, and it's already been shown. The problem is that, no matter how bad Howard is, the replacement is Robles. Robles is just a walking disaster, he's got all of Howard's worst attributes but even more severely.

We have no replacement for Howard, so we're stuck with him, and he'll cost us around 10 points over the season. It's a huge oversight by the club not to sign a keeper over summer.

He's looked alright, but with Funes Mori and Galloway we have 2 players with about 10 PL appearances between them. Plus Howard is just a complete liability, so we're always prone to conceding even if the defence are playing well.

@ Pochecinno - thanks to you and others for helpful advice, I think I have settled on a team of:

    DDG
    Bellerin, VVD, Coleman
    Sanchez, Payet, KDB, Mane
    Lukaku, Ighalo, Vardy
    (Hennessey, Alli, Simpson, Hutton)

    Much better I think??

    Martial.

I'm getting in VVD this week.

But is this guy worth keeping going forward given United's inability to have forwards scoring?

    Current frontline is
    Martial Lukaku Kane

I just keep thinking that spot could be better filled, but I only have him for United cover and their run is great. Would get Smalling but I have a good mix there, too.

    Thoughts?

I'm ditching. Ignore the idea of cover, just look at individuals. For Utd, Martial has been shunted to the wing, his goal threat is nowhere near some other strikers in the same price bracket, Rooney is just absolute garbage, then behind that you have rotation risks everywhere. To accommodate Rooney, Mata/Herrera/Depay/Fellaini/Young are likely occupying 2 spots. You can't be sure who will start, and there's no point covering a great run of fixtures with a guy who's sat on the bench for half of it.

Pushed out wide he has a lower ceiling than can be justified at that price and is really just taking up a valuable space. I'd look to move him on and I'd only consider mata for United due to pens and some other set piece responsibility

        Really interesting thoughts.

I'm going to give him one more week and see - SURELY LvG's filosofee can stretch to playing one of his best players, and most potent attacking threat (Rooney is such a dud) in the No. 9 role that he would be so effective in. The decisions are puzzling in the extreme sometimes - it just makes you think anyone could be a football manager. Play a player in his best position!

Mata = No. 10. WTF is he doing on the wing?
Rooney = Form is appalling. Has been for ages. LvG has the metrics. Why persevere? It's time to transition him out.
        Martial = see above.

I'm not even a United fan but, seriously, this kind of thing just makes me think that managers aren't actually that smart at all.

There's a bit more going on there. Rooney has been protected by that club for years, look at his ludicrous wage deal given to him under Moyes. Ferguson never dealt with his attitude problem (frequent threats of leaving the club unless paid more money) and they are now stuck with an out of shape, out of form 30 year old earning £300k a week. They can't sell him on, nobody is stupid enough to meet the wages, they can't bench him because they've invested so much in him being the captain and "leader" for United.

I'd have him gone in an instant. In fact, I probably would have had him gone a number of seasons ago.

Yeah indeed - the England team has also suffered (more so than ever recently) in major tournaments with his profile being basically overbearing and him having to be in the team at the expense of players more suited.

I guess it's politics and people not wanting to lose face, at the end of the day.

Fair enough - I think I'm hugely wedded to the idea of "cover" for the big teams - what if there's an explosion in one of their games? It can happen because they are very good, objectively speaking. I'd want to have at least one player involved in it.

Right. I understand, but honestly I do not use that kind of tactics. I rather prefer stats.

Yeah I agree, the stats are good. But they're indicators, too, rather than definitive - that's the beauty of football and the Prem in particular! Hence why I like to have "cover", just in case a big scoring game happens and my player is in the right place at the right time

      Myhill

      Smalling Darmian Alderweireld
      Payet KDB Sanchez Barkley
      Martial Pelle Vardy

subs: Fab, Mahrez, Richards, Smith + 0.5 ITB

taken a -4 this week to bring Smalling in. Intend on shipping out Darmian next week.. rotation risk to Valencia. prob bring in Van Dijk, Bellerin or Kolarov.

My 3-way defensive rotation didn't really work, due to the early season strange results, i.e. majority of home teams losing, clean sheets going where they weren't expected (if anywhere), and Sunderland and Leicester being MUCH less defensively sound than many expected.

Advice please lads...another bad week last week

      Ruddy
      Sagna / Souare / Darmian / (Richards) / (Targett)
      Sanchez / KDB / Coutinho / Erikson / (Hoolahan)
      Martial / Pelle / Vardy

I am thinking of the following options:

      A) Coutinho -> Sterling
      B) Coutinho -> Mane
      C) Coutinho -> Mane and Hoolahan -> Barkley and play AoA (-4)
      D) Coutinho -> Mane and Richards -> Stones (-4)

        Hi mate

Mane is probably your man to turn it around - I'd consider shoving him in and captaining him.

Perhaps also look at VVD/Coleman in for Darmian rather than removing Richards (unless you have money itb to make the swap)

You'll want to capitalise on the good run of fixtures for Everton and Southampton which, perceivably, will result in points.

I think I am leaning towards Mane mate....just hope Sterling doesn't punish me, especially as I am a Liverpool fan.

So I am then gonna take a hit and either bring in a defender (I have enough in the bank to do Richards to Stones but not Coleman, not sure if I can afford VVD).

Inspired by the above post - another talking point:

      Expensive keepers.

      DDG at 5.5.

Can you ever justify spending loads on a keeper? Have you?

I can see why you would, but, as we've seen with Bournemouth's goals vs City (Hart @ 5.7) and Spurs (Lloris @ 5.1) one goal and their CS is gone, and there's very little redemptive potential if they concede. What I mean by that is that, for a defender, if they concede a goal at least there's a possibility they could nick a goal, or an assist. For a keeper, it's random - if they get a pen save, great. And one could say "oh there's save points". BUT if a keeper plays for a "big" team, they're less likely to be under siege from the opposition (even within this topsy turvy year)

So that's my view - always go for the 4.5 keeper all year (rotation is another option, but not mine as I hate having points on the bench) and leave it to random chance if you get a CS or not.

      What do you all think?

      1. Pochecinno
        • 8 Years

I've been very happy with Cech in goal till now. No rotation headache, CS more likely than not and he does get save points very regularly

Hmm maybe you're right - I always just think though, if it's going bad, all I want is money to pay for a big hitter/the form man going forward. It's the same argument of having a 4.0-3.9 defender on your bench all year; you want the flex to do the 'big transfer' when necessary (see Aguero)

            • 8 Years

I think the 1m extra is worth it for the security of points. Defence is where the extra million isnt worth it at times. At the beginning of the season for example between Azpi (6.0) and Ivan (7.0) - the extra million wasn't worth it points wise. Even now with United for example Smalling (6.4) and Jones (5.2), that extra you pay for Smalling is not worth the odd goal he may score.

See my point below - maybe it's a wider idea of spotting value.

But I accept your point that there is maybe some security in the defensive units like Arsenal (odd - I'm a Gooner and describing us as a defensive unit still sounds incongruous) and having their keeper.

Myhill has worked out wonderously well or me. Another budget option that i'm taking seriously is Heurelho Gomes. atford have defended well as a unit, andmigt not be a bad idea to bring him in. Hard for me to bring myself around to spend big on expensive keepers

        1. Individual
          • 10 Years
          8 years, 7 months ago

Gomes and Myhill surely explode the notion that you need to spend a lot on your keepers. I have Butland, who I am fairly comfortable with leaving in all year. Decent chance of cleanie at home; saves away; lots of saves vs. big teams (see vs. Arsenal gw5, 10 saves = 2 extra pts)

I really think this is about spotting value rather than ploughing the extra 1-1.5m you could/should be putting in your options going forward.

        2. Pochecinno
          • 8 Years
          8 years, 7 months ago

Yes, Myhill has been the exception. But he wasn't even first choice. It was the luck of Foster's injury. Otherwise his price is slowly going up to truly reflect the value of being Pulis' first choice keeper

      3. Jøssy ⭐
        • 9 Years

I completely agree. If you have an expensive keeper that is keeping consistent clean sheets, then there's real value in them. But compare them to a Butland, for example, who has scored me 3 or 4 some weeks without keeping his clean sheet.

Also, expensive keepers are never likely to earn bonus on top of their clean sheet for a MOM performance. It's more likely they'll keep their clean sheet because they weren't challenged.

        1. Individual
          • 10 Years
          8 years, 7 months ago

Agreed - I guess it's just down to if those extra 1 or 2 points will mount up in the long run... in the simplest possible terms, imagine a top class keeper gets 14 clean sheets, that's 28 extra points for the season.

BUT you've sacrificed maybe a 8.0 midfielder that you couldn't afford cos you'd spent all that on a keeper - surely you'd rather a 4.5 keeper who gets, say, 18 points to the "premium" keepers' 28 in this scenario and also take the 8.0 midfielder's points over the alternative one who was okay but not as good as what you could've had..

          1. Jøssy ⭐
            • 9 Years

Also, this is a view I've come to after years of looking at initial squad selection.

If you look at the previous year's points totals of the keepers, the top scoring keeper will normally score around 150 points (it won't normally be an expensive one). Most of the average/low scoring keepers will score around 120.

The points differential is just not that great. Also, this assumes you play your 120 point keeper every week, but if have a good rotation you probably won't. So, assuming you rotate well, you may make up that 30 point gap anyway, or close it considerably. If you buy a premium keeper you'll almost certainly play them week in week out.

Are you sure is it a good move to invest heavily on defenders atm (VVD/Coleman/Bellerin etc.) because i reckon it'll complicate aguero's return in our teams ?

      1. Individual
        • 10 Years

        This is my worry.

For me, I reinvested all of my Aguero money in KdB and Kane. Both have paid off (had Kane last week captain and reaped the reward from the differential captain)

For defensive assets, my approach is 2x premium, 2x rotating 5.0s, 1x4.0. But I'm now actively considering VVD (after c1c) to give me

        Vertonghen (5.5) Kolarov (5.9) VVD (5.5) Naughton (5.0), Huth (4.4)

I'll definitely need the money back at some point...

        Food for thought 🙂

        1. Papaoutai
          • 10 Years

I guess you'll have an expensive backline with VVD but he seems to be a great pick.

Maybe once Clichy will be back it'll be easier to ditch Kolarov for someone a lot cheaper.

Mine is currently Azpi - Kolarov - Dawson - Huth - Targett

I need to get rid of Targett and maybe Dawson but don't know how much money i'll put on it.

Can we consider the likes of Cedric, Mertesacker, Dier etc. as good options to save money and plan auger's return ?

          1. Individual
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 7 months ago

Tbh I'd retain Targett as bench fodder - tbf 3 at the back is the optimum amount of defenders so you really only need 4 (unless you're planning on bench boosting sometime soon)

I'd also keep Dawson - it's a Pulis team when all is said and done. That means clean sheets in the most random places (e.g. Man United)

VVD just looks irresistible - fixtures, goal threat, differential.

Cedric seems to be the fall guy when Koeman is trying to tighten things up at the end of the game - before 60 mins in one memorable case hehe. Mert seems to be inconsistent in terms of being started - his lack of pace is really exposed against quick attackers. Dier I like more, although surely Toby is a better pick (I went for Vertonghen as a differential because everyone seems to have Toby in my ML).

So idk, maybe it's a case of strong defence plus contigency plan for Aguero - mine is KdB and one of my strikers out for him and a mid level midfielder

            1. Papaoutai
              • 10 Years

Thanks for your response. I agree that ditching KDB will facilitate aguero's return a lot.
It could be a great strategy too.

You're right about these players, i also don't like uncertainty.

Other point : What do you think about bringing Everton defenders (Coleman especially) ? I know that the injury of Jag will be difficult but the run of fixtures is amazing.

        Big Dave

Lloris is 5.1, for 5.2 you can get any of Dier, Toby or Rose who are better options than Lloris

            😀

I've gone for Smalling and am currently foregoing Spurs. The reason I don't have Dave is simple, not prepared to part with King Myhill, just gonna ride out the next 6 and hop Pulis can spring a surprise or 2 (just not at OT) or he can pick up some saves.

WBA's fixtures from GW17 are just superb

      Sanchez Payet KDB Mahrez (Ayew)
      Martial Pelle Vardy

      2ft 0.3 itb.

Sfternoon all. Please can I have some ideas on this lot? Martial to Lukaku/Bony is my first thought, but need to start getting some defensive points. Sell azpi for rojo/ bellerin? Or richards to someone???

could ship Azpi out for Bellerin, or VVD.

if you have funds remaining, ditch Richards for someone more reliable next GW.

Keep Martial for at least one more game to see if LVG plays him up top.

Azpi or Richards should definitely go. Azpi to Bellerin or Richards to Moreno (taking your funds into account)

I've had Sagna in from the start and all season i've been saying he will have to go at some stage but he has done so well for me and looking at him V Zaba he looks 10 times the player Zaba has (only back from injury I know)... If Pellegrini has any sense Sagna would eb No.1 at RB ..

I will keep going till signs of rotation come along. Just wondering what other Sagna owners are doing?

Don't own him but I'd keep for now. Should be first choice now but there will always be the rotation risk due to fixture congestion and CL.

True Zabaleta has lost a yard or 2 by the looks of it. NEver rated Sagna but he has been pretty good this year defensively and going forward. Watched alot of City games due to (c) choices

Yeah I don't think he got going at all last year. Having de facto #1 status virtue of Zaba's injury seems to have done him the world of good and he merits his place. I'd be surprised if Pelle would disagree but with Champ Lge etc he will want two fully fit RBs and given the fixture he may field Zaba so I'd be a worried owner tbh.

Then again, if he plays Zaba tonight you're home free

The only thing that makes anyone think that Liverpool are actually close to Tottenham is all that sh*t about history. Spurs choking all the time doesnt help either. Liverpool are poor otherwise. Of course, Klopp will have a massive effect

There's not many points between us. Beat us twice and they are pretty much level.

We have looked a lot more solid this year but think we lack strength in depth. An injury to vert or toby would throw a spanner.

Tricky selections in the backline. Arsenal is looking defensivly solid but Gabriel could be benched. And leicester has found their form at the back aswell so simpson away to west brom could work aswell....

Atm its: Stones, Janmaat, Bertrand, (Gabriel), (Simpson)

Myhill - gonna throw my tuppence into this debate on whether to keep or ditch. I am keeping on my wc this week and here is why

fixtures - yes they look tough but you never know when Pulis will spring a surprise CS and there's always the potential for save points in those games, and from GW17 WBA's fixtures are great, I'll want him back then

Foster - this is used as a reason to get rid as when that run ends Foster will be back. I'm not sure it's that simple. People used that excuse when Lindegaard signed and Myhill is still there.
Foster is not yet back in full training and even when he is are you really going to take a keeper who hasn't played for 8 months and just throw him straight into the PL? I don't think so, he'll need reserve games to build up his match fitness and sharpnes
People think Pulis drops players on a whim, again not convinced it's true and will he really drop one his best performing players (and I;m not even talking about FPL here) just because Foster is fit? I don't see it.

If I am wrong on this last point they're almost the same price now, so it'll be a simple, if annoying, switch to make

I'm ditching Dawson and keeping Myhill now, after GW17 double WBA defence is back.
