FA Cup Third Round Team News

With the FA Cup Third Round set to get underway later this evening, there’s been a raft of press conferences taking place over the last 24 hours. Here’s the main news coming out of the Premier League camps so far..

Phil Jagielka is set to start Everton’s clash with Dagenham and Redbridge as he steps up his recovery from injury. Seamus Coleman, Tom Cleverley and Romelu Lukaku are ruled out for the Toffees, though Roberto Martinez has confirmed the latter is reacting well to treatment after being forced off with an ankle knock against City in midweek.

Alexis Sanchez remains sidelined for Arsenal’s clash with Sunderland, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The Chilean will also miss the midweek league trip to Liverpool but could be back in time for next weekend’s Gameweek 22 encounter with Stoke. Mikel Arteta is available to face the Black Cats, whilst Tomas Rosicky will return to full training next week.

Alan Hutton, Carlos Sanchez and Gabby Agbonlahor are all doubts for Villa’s clash with Wycombe tomorrow afternoon. Winger Adama Traore has been ruled out for eight-to-ten weeks with a broken bone in his foot.

Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure have all been ruled out of Liverpool’s encounter with Exeter tonight. Whilst Toure is expected back for the midweek visit of Arsenal, Lovren is likely to miss the next two league matches, whilst Coutinho is set to be sidelined for around three weeks, according to Jurgen Klopp. Jordon Ibe is also set to miss out after becoming the latest Liverpool player to sustain a hamstring injury.

Slaven Bilic has revealed that Manuel Lanzini is expected to be out “for two or three weeks” with the groin problem sustained against Liverpool. Winston Reid is back in full training for the Hammers, whilst Victor Moses is set to return to training after the weekend.

Yohan Cabaye returns from a one-match suspension for Palace’s clash with Southampton. Alan Pardew has talked up the fit-again Bakary Sako and revealed he also hopes to have Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle available for the Gameweek 21 trip to Villa on Tuesday evening.

Graziano Pelle is set to miss Southampton’s cup clash with Palace, Ronald Koeman has confirmed. The Italian has a chance of making the midweek match against Watford, though, as he steps up his recovery from a knee problem. Victor Wanyama serves the first of a two-match ban this weekend, Cedric Soares is fit for selection once again and Sadio Mane will return to the starting XI after being dropped last week for disciplinary reasons. Koeman also revealed that Frazer Forster remains out this weekend – the keeper will be assessed after he plays for the reserves again on Monday before a decision is made over his first-team return.

Geoff Cameron is a doubt for Stoke’s match with Doncaster after picking up an ankle problem in training. Mark Hughes also has concerns over Phil Bardsley (groin) and Stephen Ireland (thigh).

Sam Allardyce has hinted at rotation ahead of Sunderland’s trip to the Emirates. Jack Rodwell, Younes Kaboul, Seb Larsson and Adam Matthews remain sidelined through injury for the Black Cats.

Quique Sanchez Flores has revealed he won’t make too many alterations for Watford’s showdown with Newcastle, though the Watford boss conceded it’s possible he will rest “at least one” of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.

Eddie Howe has revealed that Josh King was forced off with a niggle against Leicester last week and will continue to be monitored. The Bournemouth boss also confirmed his side are yet to receive a work permit for new boy Juan Iturbe.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

That's the problem.. LFC is among the few team to have played during the week and how come they plays before the others? Only 2 days off.. That's not fair.. No matter why CUPS is losing its magic, coz teams are forced to rotate and play a relatively less competitive team.

Dont want to lose Moreno for a few reasons

        - Cheap
        - Decent fixtures
        - Possible DGW on the horizon
        - nailed on
        - attacking

Couldn't comment much of yesterday due to a banned user on the IP I was on. I was in my local pub. Ha, I wonder who it was. Imagine that, going to your local pub every week and there's been an FFS user there. Must have been recently too as I often use their wifi.

Who would you get in: Costa or Kun? Already have Silva + KDB, no Chelsea if that matters.

      Kun

I don't trust Costa yet . Regardless , Costa is a YC magnet and cant get any BAPS without multiple attacking returns. Kun plays for a better team , better player , better stats too

Stats are pretty much identical over the last 4 GWs (they both missed 1 GW).

Am I missing something? Last 4 weeks ,

          Kun - 9 SiB , 10 shots
          Costa - 6 SiB , 6 shots

            Kun 9 SiB, 10 shots, 3 SoT
            Costa 8 SiB, 8 shots, 3 SoT

Practically the same. Over the last 4 GWs (not matches). Basically it's the last 3 matches they've both played.

Irrespective, Kun is on the up. He is nowhere near his best, and he is improving every game. Costa isn't really that sort of player, no guarantee which player will turn up each game.

Who the heck is Ivo Pinto?

    1. Your Mum's Athletic
      • 12 Years

      Moving target - Ivo Pinto

Full name: Ivo Daniel Ferreira Mendonça Pinto

Date of birth: January 7, 1990

      Nationality: Portuguese

NORWICH City have signed Ivo Pinto from Dinamo Zagreb for an undisclosed fee subject to paperwork, with Pinto describing himself as an "intense and fast" full back.

Pinto was born in 1990 in Lourosa, and subsequently started his youth career at his local side Lusitânia FC. Showing promise, the right-back earned a move to FC Porto in the Primeira Liga in 2008.

Pinto saw his first team chances limited, moving on loan to Gil Vicente and Vitória Setúbal before playing regularly on-loan at Covilhã, playing more than 20 times for the Segunda Liga side.

Rio Ave snapped up the 21-year-old, but Pinto failed to make an appearance for the top-flight side, instead spending a season on-loan at fellow Primeira Liga side U.D. Leiria.

Despite U.D. Leiria's relegation, impressive performances saw him secure a move to Romanian champions CFR Cluj, becoming a first-team regular as Cluj finished in 9th place.

Title glory was to follow as Pinto joined Dinamo Zagreb, making over 100 appearances over two seasons as he helped The Blues to consecutive Croatian titles in the MAXtv Prva HNL, as well as Croatian Cup and Super Cup successes.

Pinto has already faced English opposition this season, having lined up against Arsenal in September as Dinamo triumphed 2-1 over Arsène Wenger’s side in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old attacking right back has represented Portugal at every youth level, featuring in excess of 30 times, but is yet to win a full international cap.

Considering Ritchie (5.4) in for Ramsey to create Kun cash. Already have Alli.

Anyone think it's a decent move? Never see his name mentioned but he has the ability to be FPL gold.

Sold Vardy to Carroll for a hit...
Is Carroll any good or should I just bench him

Taking a hit and not playing him is a little strange. Waste of 4 pts IMO.

        So...
I should play him this week?

How can you bench a hit transfer? Was a bad move but play Carroll now

You have to play him especially against BOU.

I'm in the minority I know but I really could take or leave GoT.

I'll watch it, production value is decent and it's always something to talk about at work but I always find it a bit "meh".

Long drawn out storylines of which there's far too many different ones going on. And nothing ever really seems to happen until the last 2 minutes of each episode or the last episode of a season.

Episode 9 of 10 is usually the 'what the!???!!!' episode.

Exactly - enough to keep people interested for the 8 episodes of the next season 😉

        EARMUFFS!!!

I don't disagree with anything you said in the last paragraph, but it is absolutely enthralling, love it from start to finish. One of the few TV shows I am willing to watch week by week, rather than wait and binge.

I really really like GoT, but it is definitely overrated for some reason, it has excellent casting and great performances in it, but the actual storyline can be quite drawn out. I like it as I appreciate the acting even in the slower scenes, but I really don't think it's one of the greatest shows in the world, far from it. Maybe one with the best production value though.. It's like LOTR style production..

I read the first one and couldn't put it down (that's a lie, I put it down many times, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless)..

Can never find the time to dedicate to reading anymore though 🙁 tis a shame, I miss it..

It's certainly overrated but worth remembering that overrated doesn't mean bad, just not as good as made out - like Nandos!

That's my main problem, the story lines are really drawn out at times. Khaleesi for example has been extremely boring up until the you know what finally did something.

Just lots of treks across lots of desert land zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
