The Weekend Team News

Dele Alli is back in training but will be assessed ahead of Spurs’ clash with Watford. Andy Carroll could be back for West Ham, Palace are hit with long-term injuries to a couple of key midfielders, whilst West Brom’s Jonny Evans is ruled out for a fortnight with hamstring problems.

Dele Alli will be assessed tomorrow after being withdrawn early on due to dizziness in the midweek win over Norwich. Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the midfielder is back in full training, saying “all the signals are good” ahead of the home encounter against Watford. Ryan Mason will also be assessed as he steps up his recovery from injury.

Andy Carroll returned to training on Monday and will be assessed ahead of West Ham’s trip to Southampton. New loan signing Emmanuel Emenike is also available after receiving his work permit, whilst Angelo Ogbonna will “hopefully” be fit, according to Slaven Bilic, after missing the midweek win over Villa due to illness. Sam Byram has been ruled out for a week after sustaining a small injury in training.

Tomas Rosicky could be out for up to three months after suffering an injury setback whilst on duty for the arsenal under 21 side. Danny Welbeck is set to step up his recovery with a run-out for the Gunners’ second-string later today.

Palace midfielders James McArthur (ankle ligaments) and Jason Puncheon (hamstring) are set for lengthy spells on the sidelines, with the former likely to miss the rest of the season. Joe Ledley remains out for two more weeks with a thigh injury, though Alan Pardew reckons Yohan Cabaye has a “very good” chance of returning from injury, whilst Dwight Gayle is available after returning to full training. Emmanuel Adebayor is “almost ready” to start and will have another cameo appearance, though Connor Wickham misses out through suspension.

Claudio Ranieri will make a late decision on the fitness of new signing Daniel Amartey ahead of Leicester’s trip to City tomorrow lunchtime.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe reckons Josh King – who made an appearance off the bench in midweek – is now up to full fitness. Junior Stanislas remains a doubt, though, with the Cherries set to make a late decision on the winger’s fitness.

Jeremain Lens is a major doubt for Sunderland after being forced off with a groin problem in midweek. Yann M’Vila is expected to shrug off a foot problem to continue in the centre of the park, whilst Younes Kaboul is back in the squad after overcoming a hamstring injury.

Jonny Evans has been ruled out for a couple of weeks with the hamstring injury that forced him off against Swansea. James Morrison and Chris Brunt also remain on the sidelines for the Baggies, Tony Pulis has confirmed.

Ki Sung-Yueng has been ruled out of Swansea’s clash with Palace after being forced off with concussion in the 1-1 draw with West Brom. New manager Francesco Guidolin has revealed that Alberto Paloschi “could” be in line for a first start on the back of an impressive sub performance at the Hawthorns.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Would you pick Martial or Rooney ans why?

I tend to prefer Rooney, more influence in the game, more experience

Did Kaku --> Vardy last night. Obviously carries risk but it's a nice move for negotiating the blanks and I prefer Vardys form and fixtures for the run in, plus the value swings.

Which of these do you prefer as my next move? 1Ft & £4.6ITB

    DDG / HENN
    Bellerin Sagna Waker Dawson Simpson
    Payet Alli Ozil Mahrez Stanislas
    Vardy Aguero Kane

A.) Stanislas --> Arnautovic ~ great for the blank GW27 & 30 and allows me to not have to play both Leicester assets of needed.

    B.) Ozil --> Sanchez

    C.) Save

    Thanks 🙂

    Bellerin / Alderweireld / Dawson
    Payet / Mahrez / Ozil / Alli
    Aguero / Kane (C) / Lukaku

    (Gomes, Simpson, Gosling, Nyom)

Any thoughts? On the fence with Lukaku but given Stoke's recent defensive form I might give him another week and if he blanks again I'll bring in Vardy.

Speaking of Stoke, I'm considering Butland to Forster, and then maybe Gosling to Ayew for a -4?

Nah, decided against it in the end. I would have had to get rid of Mahrez and happy to keep him for now.

In hindsight Payet could have gone but I made the move last week and wasn't going to get rid of him before Villa. Still hoping he'll come good too.

    Don't like this week.

ML rival has Firmino and Sanchez, I own neither.
Lukaku my main differential who can't score / may not play. My other biggest differential is Moreno who I have no trust in what-so-ever.
Captaincy hard but crucial with a couple of options - Kane, Aguero, Sanchez/Ozil...

Lukaku has gone through a dry spell but I expect him to bounce back strongly in these fixtures

Spurs have an extra days rest over Watford, could be crucial.

My latest Fantasy YIRMA GW review is up:

    http://fantasyyirma.com/2016/02/05/evertons-ross-barkley-provides-the-fantasy-blues-for-non-owners/

Does anyone else share my feeling of Groundhog Day this season? I can't complain about my rank too much, but I was 11k by GW13. Since then, I have been below 50k only once (52k in GW17), butbut have not been higher than 20k since GW15. I plummeted GW15-17, and since then have just been bouncing around between 20k and 50k, always one step forward and one step back, never really struggling but not getting anywhere.

Indeed, but when I was 11k by GW13 it looked like I was set for a phenomenal season, and it's just petering out.

Yup I know the feeling.. I was chuffed in GW14 after getting from 2.8m to 28k.

Back down to 100k now and an 8 point hit should either leave me at 50k or 200k 😎

Get some proper differentials if you want a rollercoaster, I've gone from 52K to 52K via 149K in a similar time period 🙂

Ha, I can't help it. I always want Everton to score, but it's just that nagging doubt - it was the same after I took the armband off Lukaku before he ran riot against Sunderland.

My bench points between GW16 and 20 were hugely costly, benched 99 points over 5 weeks - could have done with those...
