A host of popular picks from City, Leicester and Everton come under scrutiny, whilst we also take a look at Arsenal’s misfiring Frenchman and United’s big-money starlet in light of Wayne Rooney’s knee injury absence.

Everton already has two guaranteed blanks and possibly three.

So Liverpool Vs Everton by PL would be in GW27 will have to be played before the DGW34, no? I see no possible dates for that to happen later.

And if Everton went to semifinals?

        LIV / EVE GW34

        SUN / EVE GW37

Miss a date for PAL / EVE in GW35. You can not take that risk.

So far he has scored every 100th minute.

            For comparison:
            Vardy 121

      He has a blank.

      City struggle away.

Vardy has Norwich this week and most people have Kun, Lukaku and Kane. Lukaku has Villa after the blank so I assume that factors into their thinking.

Yeah. Think I just have to disagree with peoples' decision (if Chelsea win tomorrow)
Lukaku 2 blanks (kun also has villa)
        Costa 1 blank
        Kane probably 1 blank

If indeed GW30 has only 4 games, playing 11 with 0FTs would be worse than playing 10 with a saved FT. Reason being players would be against each other unless there is an unreasonable triple up in defence etc. The 1 FT might be better used after the GW. imo.

I shouldn't have stated that with such authority - I haven't kept up to speed with the rules around this at all but that used to be the measure by which you determined if someone needed a CRB check. I'm going back over 5 years now though so anything could have changed.

Most people in a pretty good position. Do you think this is due to good planning? Or will this be typical due to the team's involved?

I Think People have been helped by the Fact that Leicester don't have a blank, as Vahrez is highly owned. Generally I think people on here have started planning for this in a few weeks (or at least holding FT's)

Looking a bit far ahead, why are people looking more at dgw 37 for the wc rather than dgw34? (Wc a week early and play the bench boost for the dgw).

Surely, dgw34 will be the "bigger" one, covering the FA cup quarter-final rather than semifinal...

Is it a matter of big teams having better fixtures in gw37?

      Thanks.

I'm finding planning the DGW34 and potentially blank GW35 hard to judge at the minute.

We will know the Cup SF line up after gw 30 (barring replays), but there will be a fair chance that say half the teams with a double in GW34 will have a blank in GW35.

Is the best strategy just to try and navigate GW30 as best you can and get as many GW34 doubles as possible without WC (and play triple captain), then WC for GW35/36 and bench boost 37?

What we do know though is that Everton will have 2 DGWs, probably 34 and 37, and good fixtures after GW32, so they would be particularly good to load up on at that time?

      1. Mr. O'Connell
        • 12 Years
        8 years, 4 months ago

I'm thinking of wildcarding GW31 immediately after the blanks. That way I'll get most use out of it. Then again I'm 650k ranked and want to load up with differentials asap however all free transfers at the moment are going towards getting a full(ish) side out for GW30. I certainly wouldn't be worrying about GW34 now (especially if you have a wildcard) as the picture will no doubt become clearer. It's just all this fixture congestion that's making it look daunting.

I think people are over concerned with gw30 tbh so any later double gameweeks can be dealt with later - no one really knows where we'll be come then, cup games, the way teams do in Europe, injuries.......too many ifs and buts at this stage.

always good to have a plan in mind but no more than that imo

Can see Stoke keeping many clean sheets after the next 2 but Wolly is cheap and 2 of the most expensive SOU defenders is too much too. I am going Targett and Forster.
